  1. I have an older craftsman tool cabinet that has some rust and such. I want to replace the wood top and repaint all the metal ( at least visible sides ). Anyone have any suggestions on paint type, surface prep or any other such things thanks.
  2. Tennessee Watchable Wildlife | North Cumberland WMA Here is a link to directions from Lafollette, I assume you know how to get there. I have never been to the tower but the gate is easy to find if you follow the directions
  3. That knife is awesome l have handled one at SMKW as well. Do you carry it? It seems a little large for EDC
  4. Actually I have bought s lot of my recent stuff at Dicks Sporting Goods. If your not stuck on a certain brand, their Field & Stream brand stuff is good and affordable. It's worth a look
  5. Agree But if you don't like that then try this one (if you don't mind the rail) http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearms-classifieds/48891-sig-sauer-1911r-carry-kimber-ct-grips-extras.html And don't listen to all the Kimber bashing, there are just as many people that won't like whatever it is you buy. Unless of course it's an Ed Brown
  6. I have a Kimber Eclispe Pro II, that has over 2800 rounds with no flaws. I recently had a couple failure to return to battery, so I put a brand new recoild spring in and she is back to running like new. Its going to be in the middle of price ranges, more expensive than springfield and less than Dan Wesson. I will say that if you can spend $1200-1500 I would definelty buy a Dan Wesson. $950-1100 I would buy a Kimber, under $950 I would buy a Springfield as DaddyO recommended. Those price ranges are for new guns, used is a whole different story. This is my opinion but Im sure you will get many that disagree
  7. It looks like an HSB &Co Go to the link below, the fourth gun down in the picture looks just like it. The related web auctions list is as an HSB model 222 http://rockislandauction.com/view_item.aspx?aid=1013&iid=235101
  8. Now there is a good idea
  9. I carry a 4" in an MTAC, but I also have a DM Bullard bodyguard. I know it's not IWB bit I love it so I would suggest the DM BULLARD DUAL CARRY.
  10. Let's be clear... THEY know who, what, when, and where. They're just not telling us!
  11. for sure, I think there are a lot of people who wont spend the time to read the whole article (their loss), but there are some great points even in the first couple pages.
  12. http://www.guncite.com/journals/reycrit.html A Critical Guide to the Second Amendment - Glenn Reynolds Saw this referenced in a recent article from the Metro Pulse. Great paper from a well educated law professor.
  13. Do most books have ballistic data or is there a specific one I should get?
  14. The .41 mag is easier than .44 magnum on recoil, has better sectional density and thus better penetration than the .44 mag, and I guarantee no critter can tell the difference between a .410 bullet and a .429 bullet when hit with 'em. Plus, the road less travelled has a strong appeal to me. I never liked to be one of the herd. And lastly, .41 mag shooters tend to be more intelligent, wittier, and better looking While I'm a .41 fan the first thing you need to consider is how much you plan to shoot and your budget. They are not cheap to feed and ammo is hard to find. Although Georgia Arms has reasonable prices $23/50 for Semi-Wad cutter. Reloading is the way to go with this cartridge, however bullets are kind of scarce right now. So while looking at the guns be sure to keep the ammo in mind. Many people have sold their .41s because of the expense to feed them on a regular basis. You can ususally find some gun shops with hunting loads but not target loads. I can shoot milk jugs and 50yards free hand with my Ruger Blackhawk 6.5" Barrel, put a scope on and your good out to 100 yards. Id look into heavier bullets for hogs, 250grain just cause their hogs, but I wouldnt hesistat to shoot one with the standard 210 grain.
  15. Anyone load 8MM-06? Just looking for general data. As I have never done this is necking up the brass alot of work compared to regular loading? I have not reloaded before so just looking for any info on this ammo.
  16. Well I went to Gander Mountain on Monday just to do a general browsing and noticed they had 4 boxes of .41 Remington Magnum (havent seen any in stores for over 18mos). No I know in the last couple years Remington has raised their prices to MSRP $52 for a box of 50. That in itself is outragous, but when i asked the gentleman how much they were, it rang up $69.99! Now I know Gander Mtn has higher prices on almost everything but $20 markup is jaw dropping. However, the salesman was nice and said I should check out Georgia Arms at the gun show or online. Well by coincidence I was sent to Georgia for work and just stopped by the Georgia Arms factory. They had plenty of New .41 Magnum for $23/50rounds. Met the owner and he was really nice and even said that if the price of brass and bullets would go down a little his prices would follow. even though I haven't fired any ammo yet, +1 For Georgia Arms and fair pricing
  17. Well thats what I did with the old one, but they sent me a new one for free, so now I dont have to
  18. I heard Jeff Fisher talking on the Dan Patrick Show this morning. Dan :"what would you tell Randy if he came to the Titans" Jeff : "How fast can you learn the offense? And This is the way we do things in our lockeroom" Dan: "is that it?" Jeff: "Thats it" i think Jeff will keep him under control
  19. Yeah I know, but they get much more technical on gunsmith for 1911, where TGO is spread accross all platforms. And dont think you wont see some of the same screen names from here on there!
  20. Got this range bag for Christmas last year and love it. One problem though was that the shoulder strap would loosen completely when the bag was loaded. This would cause it to hang down to my knee. Well I saw on a thread that Midway was replacing shoulder straps. So I called them, they looked up the transaction ( even though it was a gift from my mother) and sent me a new strap. So all is well, If anyone has this same problem call them and they will make it right. +1 for Midway USA
