  1. BigJ45 might let you shoot it at his place, he said before that all things were welcome at his range. But of course you'd have to ask him. Maybe we'll have another TGO shoot in the spring and you can bring it
  2. Haha, thanks to you I have a need for lots of .45 ACP
  3. I feel where your comin from Mac, but I have learned that stocked fish are fun too . But I really like catching the wild (self reproducing anyway) fish in the smokies. But you cant beat the size of those tailwater fish. Anyone want to fund a trip to Montana I'm in!!!
  4. Didnt make it to my parents house until New Years weekend. We all exchanged gifts and my parents got me a RCBS Rock Chucker Single Stage Press and Lee Carbide .45 , 4 die set. So I am official starting my reloading setup. I have a nice bench my father-in-law gave me that I am going to paint and replace the wood top. Pics to come when mounted (hopefully this weekend) I also scored a new gun belt and streamlight P1L. Pretty happy to say the least.
  5. Now your talkin! Unfortunately I spend most of my weekends in Johnson City and it gets dark to early to go after work. But if I can find some time on a weekend soon, I'd love to go. I'm no expert, but have caught a fish or two.
  6. Garufa, I had one of the Springfield mags that came with my TRP wouldn't feed the last round in my Kimber Pro. It ran fine in my TRP, but I believe that was due to a stiff follower spring that wouldn't allow the slide to strip off the last round. But wilsons ran fine right out of the wrapper. I like what whoever said "whaterever works in your gun is the best Mag" Plus whatever TimCalhoun says Id go with, he has proved knowledgeable about all things 1911
  7. its just the first logical place you can go, once you get your permit. I mean where else would you go, Target? Lame
  8. Not me personally, but my good buddy is a U.S Air Marshall and he carries one. He loves it for tactical defense.
  9. Apparently even the leaded stuff can have small primers (see link). No biggy just be aware and don't mix with large primer brass. Funky Federal @ Walmart! - 1911Forum
  10. Just so you know the new Wilson ETM mags are different than 47d mags. They have to have special springs and followers. This means you cant replace with normal or higher end (tripps) guts. For this reason I won't buy them. I don't know why Wilson diid this other than to make you buy more of their products. Just FYI
  11. BTW, if you plan to reload be watchful some of the Federal Ammunition that Walmart sells is small primer. Perfectly fine for shooting but mixed in with large primer brass can be a PIA if you don't notice.
  12. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Georgia Arms ammo, but I would try to wait until they came to a gun show near you and save on shipping. Otherwise I just buy Winchester White Box 100 Rd packs at wall mart. Which is about .34 Cents a piece. Which is more than Georgia arms without shipping, .32 cents, but with shipping it's almost .38 cents per
  13. So anytime you want to hang out and become better friends, I'm free
  14. Got mine today! Been in Knoxville so they have been waitin in the mailbox in Johnson City. Great lookin swag, can't wait tol plaster them all over my stuff
  15. I love my Wilson 47d mags , but this is a true statement! Of course you have to order them online, and Wilsons you can pick up at the store.
  16. Just the grips, not the gun
  17. Thanks man, I asked Sarge about box elder Burl and he sent me a pic of several that were about to go on the site and saw these, and bought them before they even went on sale. He said they were from a piece where the heartwood meets the sapwood, hence the red/white transition. Once l saw them I couldn't resist
  18. Yeah depends on your standards, those scenes are pretty graphic, plus some SOB & GD's throughout. For me 11 is ok, 9 might be pushing it but depends on the kid and how skittish they are.
  19. I loved the new True Grit. It was witty and had some great acting. Not only from Jeff but the girl playing Mattie was excellent. Great movie. Agreed it's no John Wayne movie, but thats part of the appeal. The old movies were kind of cheesy with the screenplay and acting. This was much more realistic.
  20. The guy in the lane next to me failed. Couldn't hit the paper with his M&P 9mm, felt sorry for him, but feel better he can't carry and spray bullets all over cristendom.
  21. Yeah I wasn't sure how I'd like the smooth grips but they feel great!
  22. These are from Sarge of www.thefinergrain.com. He did some awsome work. Amboyna Burl on my Kimber Eclipse Pro
  23. That's fine if the mods want to delete or combine them, they are more than welcome. I just posted cause it was on right then, I didn't do a search first. As far a Remington's response it Does happen, even if they couldn't replicate the problem. Even the designer said it has and can happen, but its not a design flaw it's an assembly issue. Both sides are full of propaganda CNBC and Remington have agendas and I don't fully trust either
  24. Yeah most won't have this happen. They stated 1% have this problem, thats like 20,000 guns out of 2,000,000. But if I bought a new 700 I would sure test it to see!
  25. Yeah I agree with ohshoot, I wouldn't avoid the state all together, that's a little crazy My point was just don't carry the gun or think if you simply unload it you're good. Lock it up and separate your ammo from gun.
