  1. How could you hate the Security Six???
  2. I like broccoli
  3. I think he was refereing to the point that, if she came "home" to Gallatin to take the test as some have suggested, she should go there. but im just guessing, otherwise that would be some haul just for and HCP
  4. Benelli M4 as MacGyver said once you shoot one you wont want anything else. I had a Super Black Eagle II, and that was the sweetest shooting gun Ive ever had. I sold it to fund a pistol but thats just because it was primarily a duck gun, and in East TN we aint got many ducks
  5. Yeah I guess its just preference, but when I go to the range its the last gun I take. I shoot it enough to stay proficient for defense purposes, but just dont love shooting it. it probably has more to do with the DAO trigger wieght and such. The gun is a great shooter, just not my preference.
  6. +1 I carry a 1911 .45, but my first hangun was a G19. I bought it because it was affordable at the time. I dont think you'll be disapointed with any of these, but just decide your use and as others have said, test a few out. I like my G19 but I dont shoot it much cause as Jonnin pointed out its no fun range gun, its pretty much a nightstand gun. I know it will go bang when I need it the most.
  7. I heard that!! We will never know how it went down. I agree tho, this is a reasonable offer, but every other thread about HCP says "qualify with the gun your gonna carry". I like the philosiphy that you should be able to qualify with your carry gun, otherwise practice a little more. In this case, I think both parties would be better off if the OP tested at another location. I'd assume RM wouldnt lose any sleep overthat. Edit: I do understand that Helen Keller could pass the HCP test, so the qualifying gun is really a mute point. Although the guy next to me failed, out of 50 rds he prob had 12 holes in the paper.
  8. Jeff, awsome AR, did the upper come as-is (with the exception of the foregrip), or did you add or change rail? Edit: nevermind found the half-quad rail on the RRA website. cant wait for a range report on that beast
  9. Welcome from a fellow knoxvillian, took my course at CCA. enjoyed it very much. Glad your here now jump in and have some fun
  10. I carry a 4" 1911 every day, I like having a bigger gun and 16rds. In full disclosure I've never carried a revolver, but that's because when faced with a similar question as yourself I chose 1911.
  11. That is unbelievable, just grabbed it and walked off? I'm sorry for your loss, it's sad that while some see a fun gathering for a nice day others see an opportunity to steal. Hope he shoots himself in the leg with it
  12. wich booth were you? and stole literally or figuratively?

Ohshoot was tellin me at the gun show on Saturday that he saw a pic inner trigger mechanism and that it resembled a Rube Goldberg Device. I'd like to see some reliability feedback before buying one, but would love to shoot one.
  14. I am enamored by this fact as well. If people would go in thinking my Kimber is going to cost me $XXX.XX + $32.00 for a new mag, there would be a lot less heartburn over the brand
  15. I've read all of this thread and although Rangemasters may be a great training facility I have to agree that banning bersa for HCP test is absurd. Seems Metalhead has summed it up nicely, and since he runs a gun shop, I would have to differ to his expertise. I like to be, as DaveTn said "a gun snob" from time to time, but to tell others what they can own and shoot, thats just too much.
  16. I believe he is referring to the fact that you are not allowd to carry loaded magazines into the show. And security will take the ammo out of the mag and return the mag but not the ammo. There have been a few complaints about this. My stance on the matter is just don't take it out of your pocket, it's not like they pat you down. They have to see it to take it. Now does that make it legall for them to seize your ammo, no, but I can say they have never taken any of my ammo and that's not to say I haven't carried into the show either
  17. I heard that, i walked behind one guy who literally smelled like horse ****, literally. I just had to turn a go the other way
  18. I sent 44M a PM, but I'll post it here also. I believe those signs only apply to guns and bow that are being brought in for repair or accesiors. To prevent people from strolling around with their 30-06 slung over their shoulder. This sign does not apply to legally carried hanguns. These signs are at most sporting good stores ie Gander Mtn, Dicks Sporting Goods, Sportsmans Warehouse. BTW even if their intent was to prevent carry, it woulnt be a legally correct posting.
  19. I heard that Looks like you had a little upgrade , good looking pistol
  20. You cannot reply to threads in the prohibited carry forum. It's to prevent unwanted chatter, just strictly posted locations
  21. I would normally be down for this for sure, but i have to drive my wife back to our Johnson city home so she can be ready for school on Monday. Hopefully I can participate next event
  22. No but he did have them all out at one point or another. It was a fun morning, great to hang out with guys and wade the BS together.
  23. Welcome, maybe when the weather is more consistently warm we'll have another East Tn TGO meet and shoot.
  24. Sounds good, I'll be in line at nine
  25. Anyone headin over in the morning?
