  1. The reason I don't own a S&W or Sig 1911 is that they have an external extractor. I don't see it as an advantage. Sure they work fine but I don't like they way they look, and let's face it internal extractors work just fine. With that said I have heard a lot of good things about the Sig 1911s. Truth is in your price range you can't really go wrong. There is always an outside chance you could have problems, it's just the nature of the beast. So whatever you buy make sure they have a good rep for customer service. Springfield CS is outstanding, just so you know
  2. Springfield TRP hands down, I have one and it's awesome. If that doesn't tickle your fancy I would go with Dan Wesson but both are gonna push the limits of your budget. I have a Kimber Eclipse, that is a great gun, wouldn't hesitate to buy another
  3. This page is still up, I have no idea of its validty though Login | Facebook
  4. Was his name Noah? if so maybe we should check it out
  5. How terrifying that must have been for the people on that roof. The first couple mins you keep thinking "ok its gonna stop anytime" and it just keeps coming more and more. Unbelievable. In my imagination, probably from TV, I always pictured a tsunami as a huge crashing wave, which it may have been in some places, but not this slow gradual devastating flood. Its just as if the ocean decided to flow onto land. Very scarry stuff in that vid
  6. Read your post again dude, you specifically mention people asking about the legality of postings and being intelligent and acting grown up. I'm the one who asked the question about the sign posting, so how is that not directed at me? frankly I could give a **** about the loose ammo. There is not even a law against carrying that anywhere except and airport.
  7. Heard an audio recording from a video a fan shot that day onn the Dan Patrick radio show. The sound overwhelmed the video speaker and you could hear people in the background afterward saying " holy ****"
  8. Ruin what? Gun shows? Are you serious, I don't see how asking them to follow the law is hurting you? And if someone chooses to carry past an sign that doest follow simple guidlines then I don't see how that has any bearing on you either. It's not against the law to carry past a sign that doesn't follow simple rules, if you don't like that i cant help you. I specifically mentioned that I have not carried inside a gun show, apparently you didn't read that part. I own lots of guns and act grown up equally as much.
  9. That was my original question, did they have legal posting signs per Tn law. I have not carried at a gun show because I have been told many times that it's posted. However the last time I went I did not see a posted sign, just one saying guns must be unloaded. I have carried many loaded mags though and never been asked to show them.
  10. Haha Yes, she always asks "what's so funny", then I tell her and she never seems to laugh. Guess you had to be there
  11. You can't see my loaded weapon to ask to see it , that goes to the security as well. I have never once been asked if I had a gun or a magazine.
  12. Hilarious! Literally laughed audibly
  13. Are the postings at gun shows "legal", the last one I went to just had a sign that said "all firearms must be unloaded" that doesn't qualify, does it?
  14. that makes all forgivable
  15. I sent my wife a text message in Dec with some Christmas gift ideas. One was gun magazines. I proceeded to explain that I wanted magazines that hold bullets, not magazines you read. She replied "I know, I'm not stupid", I guess she's a keeper As for the term, I refer to them as magazines 100% of the time, but if someone says they need a clip for their Glock 19 I fully understand their question. No correction needed. As a matter of fact I her the term "clip" used at gun shows ALL the time. I wonder if the orginal GI's still called them clips. How long did it take to consistantly refer to them as magazines?
  16. Willie Nelson! I've played one but not in the classical style, they have a wider neck and tend to be harder for people to learn on, or who have small hands. I like the sound but prefer steel strings for sure.
  17. I store my guns in a wet cardboard box, whats worng with that?
  18. Leroy you have been a fountain of information, with documentation to back it up. I applaud you sir, for informing those of us who need it (badly)
  19. I've been playing for about 15 years now, started when I was in middle school and they needed a bass player for the jazz band. So I started taking lessons and transitioned from 4 to 6 strings in high school. Now I just play for fun. I'm mediocre at best but still love playing. I have a Tacamine G series Acoustic/Electric, a 1973 Fender Jazz Bass, and will inherit a 1963 Gibson ES-335 someday.
  20. I dont open carry unless out in the woods or certain rural situations with work. I was asking simply for the legal knowlege
  21. how would this be posted according to Tennessee law. I have only seen reference to all guns prohibited. If they just put up a sign that says "no open carry" is that legally a carry prohibited local, if you are carrying in the manner mentioned? What if they put up a sign that said "open carry only"? Any insight here?
  22. WELCOME, WHY ARE WE SHOUTING? glad to have you, all kidding aside, all caps is considered shouting, just FYI
  23. Horsehide is stiff enough without it, even bullhide shuld be a lot stiffer than anything you've had before. I carry a 1911 so I would get the stiffener, I would consider the Glock a light carry gun. But you can't go wrong in getting the stiffner just in case.
  24. It is common nomenclature in 2011 to substitute clip for magazine. Ain't isn't a word but most use it synonymously. It frankly chaps my ass to see someone get called out every time they say clip. Does it really matter? P95 is a great shooter, congrats, let us know how you like it
