  1. Great, I don't see any drawbacks if you can get the ammo. Reload your own, and I would say go for it. Ballistically speaking you're good to go, check this out Cartridge Comparisons

    Wilson

Ed Brown, Wilson, Nighthawk, les Baer... All fine high end 1911s, worth their money for those who can afford them or need them. Unfortunately I am neither
  3. I heard him when he filled in for Andrew Wilkow once, very likable and intelligent. Fingers crossed
  4. mine is in our Garage/Basement. I live in a condo, garage is underneath main floor, stays fairly tempeature/moisture neutral being mostly underground.
  5. have you not seen JeffsSig's 458 thread, its pretty sweet. Jeff, that mag looks sweet. I cant beleive no one markets those, maybe you'll be the first
  6. I think in order to price match the store has to be with a certain distance. I don't know where the nearest cabela's is to murfboro but i'd say they would claim it (not compition)
  7. Haha, well welcome to the forum, and next time, hit that damn thing!
  8. You will get decent service in the Spencer area with both. I have a verizon and it works almost everywhere in Van Buren county but there are several dead spots. if you dont want to cancel your service I would just get a booster, they work great, both home and in-vehicle.
  9. I think your main weakness is in the overhang. I think you might have some serious potential for flexing. You could mount the press, then brace underneath with a 2x4 and paint it to make it look better. Just a thought. I would mount the press and try it before you fasten it to the wall though, just in case it doesn't work out
  10. If money is a big issue you can switch but the coverage is nowhere near as good. I echo what others have said that once you leave the city, it drops off exponentially. I have the same plan Mike.357 described, it's hard to beat for the coverage yu get.
  11. Tabors Gun and Pawn in Crossville had Sig P238 $499
  12. His intent was clear to me. There was only one sporting goods store in that mall and it doesn't deal in guns. If he was searching for a gunsmith he should have put it in a case. That may not be law but comon sense can save your ass a lot of trouble if you use some.
  13. 100% agree, let me carry my gun, I'll assume the risk of being shot by UTPD. Chances are they'd miss anyway
  14. searched again, still not there. used full name...nothing used last name only, and then searched all "owens" in tennessee I'm just not in there. Maybe my permit is not valid or maybe the CA is incompetent...
  15. hell I dont know I just put my name in the box and hit search. I'll try again
  16. Check out this letter from one of the Civil Engineering Prof to the UTK staff, faculty, and students Instapundit » Blog Archive » ANTI-GUNS-ON-CAMPUS BLOWBACK: You know, I raised this issue with a Faculty Senate colleague and was…
  17. Dong forget the ivory billed woodpecker, believed to be extinct until spotted (videoed) in an arkasas swamp
  18. id like have one, I would prefer some type of treatment on the front strap but I could surely have that added. For $800 MSRP id say they will be found for a good price. look forward to seeing one in person.
  19. definitely something to consider. I'm lookin at getting one, but I carry a 1911 so thumb safety is a msucle memory for me now
  20. hilarious - "thats your arm cut off above the elbow, no problem"! ummm wake up jackass you arm has a huge bone in it. Gonna be a little tougher than a mailing tube. Erik, noticed several differences, lack of jimping on fake, handle material, size of screws, the fake appears to be a liner lock and original is spine lock. But hey for 5 bucks I'm sure it will make you bleed!
  21. Not in the database. Too bad, I was looking forward to all the public recognition
  22. Guilty! I don't know anything about this topic of which y'all have been speaking. Well, on to google for some answers
  23. Nice. I have one very similar, my dad found under the back seat of a car he bought while stationed in Okinawa back in 1970. I'll throw a pic up later

    Hiking Pistola?

Bkelm, I hike a lot, although I never have a trail. Begin a forester I am usually in areas where human interactions are rare, therefore lowering the chances of animals being scared off ahead of my arrival. I carry mainly for wild hogs and humans. The hog population is getting very high in some areas, as well as people cookin Meth and other illegal activities. I carry a 4" 1911 .45 and a spare mag. I feel humans could be stopped with something less powerful, but hogs just never seem to amaze me with their resilience
