I've read on 1911Forum.com that the stainless scratches really easily. If I were the buyer I would get the duty treatment, or find a CBOB which I agree is one of the best looking 1911s out there. But ever since they wre discontinued the price has jumped into the $1500 range

Highly debatable. If your simply looking for a self defense, goes bang, target shooter, you're probably right. If your looking for a durable competition gun or tactical operator, there are many whow would disagree vehemently

Over-penetration is always a concern, but velocity is less than .357sig and .357 magnum, both of which are carried regularly. I wouldn't be overly concerned with that. "38 super propels a 130 grain bullet 25 FPS faster than 9mm 115 grain"
