  1. Yeah it was at Bills Outpost in Farragut. Thanks for the thread I'll read up on it. Price was $369, if reliable would be a good deal
  2. How do you know he wasn't trying to protect his family from unforeseen danger the same as going to walmart. I see absolutely no difference. Threats are everywhere even Dollywood and Disney World. These are not fairly lands were dangerous people are held out by an imaginary force field. Oh and I'm perfectly capable of fighting with my hands and knife, but my gun is FAR more efficient
  3. Asinine The cardinal rule to gun fighting, have a gun! Last time I checked you can't stop bullets or knives with your fists. And if you can solve the situation by fighting you probably could have just walked away
  4. I saw the new Diamondback 9mm today. It's a 6+1 and very thin. It's hands down the smallest 9mm I've seen. Anyone heard range reports from these. I know there have been some issues with the .380. This would make a GREAT pocket pistol if found to be reliable. Thoughts?
  5. Agree with all above, great store, friendly staff. Prices were good on everything except their sig p238s which were high $579. Will return with money in future
  6. My wife just told me she saw a sign for Academy Sports being built on Kingston Pike just west of Cedar Bluff Rd. I know a lot of people in Knoxville will be glad to see them come. I am
  7. Lately I have really been wanting one in .41 Mag. They are hard to find affordable(for me anyways). This would help feed my reloading habits as well since I have a ruger Blackhawk in .41 already
  8. My thoughts were similar. 1) nearest escape route, evacuate as quick as possible 2) find a good defensable position where I can quickly discern threats coming at me from people just running in panic
  9. I believe this is due to fuel prices, which have gone down some this past 2 weeks, but I forsee merchendise prices continuing to increase
  10. I think the race of the mob is the last thing that matters in this whole issue. The real thing that needs to be made aware is that this is becoming a trend in many places because of its overwhelming success and lowered risk of getting caught. This is why I carry a gun and backup ammo. You never know when this could happen. The very idea of a flash mob is to look incunspicuous until the moment of riot, and all hell breaks loose. It would be very hard to tell who are the aggressors and who are the inoccent. THis thread would be much more usefull discussing pratical things to do if caught in a flash mob. Ways to protect yourselves and family, ways to escape, etc
  11. I wouldnt recommend fooling with that. There are PLENTY of jeeps out there for sale, lift kits and all. Blue book on that jeep is $12,000 with a clear title. I think that guy is dilusional on his price. Just FYI the Tomb Raider bull**** doesnt make it a collectors item or worth any more, it still has the standard options as a rubicon or sport addition.
  12. +1000 Couldn't agree more. NEVER leave your appliances running, very dangerous. Hope all works out with frigidaire
  13. What brand are these? look at Tripps research if you want to replace the guts. They have great mag kits and great mags for that matter. I agree with this. But just so you know the ETM mags have proprietery springs and followers. so if sometime down the road you need to rebuild you HAVE to use ETM stuff from wilson. Not a big deal just FYI
  14. I am glad to see so many people dont have facebook. That helps my odds . The key to FB is not clicking on wierd links posted by others and or watching vidoes that seem suspect in nature.
  15. I have a Kimber Eclipse Pro that I carry everyday. I don't know why people recommend you not go below 4.25". There are plenty of good ones that have proven reliable. With that said I would go look, fondle, and drool till you find what you want. I bought a TRP brand new for $1175 this past winter and it's been an awesome gun. My advice also would be look at gently used guns, your money may go a lot further that way. If I had the money my next 1911 would be a Dan Wesson with duty coat finish. FWIW
  16. Read this http://m.examiner.com/examiner/pm_60959/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=B2b9wK6L Families who have lost loved ones often fall on hard financial times. Missing work, paying for rewards, etc. I have no doubt they could use help. Eventually municipalities will quit searching and the family could have to pay for it themselves.
  17. This is correct. Head west on Kingston Pike from Lovell road and its on the south side of the road. If you get to the Super Kroger you have passed it.
  18. Benchmade Presidio Axis Locking Folder 3.42" Plain Edge Tanto Blade Model 523P - Knifecenter.com This is what I carry, bought it for this price. Not cheap, but a great knife
  19. agreed, but I dont think that qualifies as "fairly cheap" at least not by my standards
  20. do you have some type of rain cover or is it just "if it rains, I'm wet" type of deal
  21. You are correct, any big game hunting with a gun requires blaze orange.
  22. I have a Comp-tac MTAC that I carry a 1911 in, it works great. If you're pants fit tight it can be uncomfortable, but otherwise it just takes some getting used to and you will feel odd without it.
  23. Whatever is on the TWRA website are the current up-to-date rules. If there is a change that applies to this hunting season they will post it on there. Also Public Hunting areas (not WMA) is considered under private land rules so I'm not sure how the whole landowner sing-up would work with those properties. If you determine that hogs are causing damage to your property you can apply for a permit to hunt them at night ( or the landowner can apply). That's how it works now, the future changes we'll just have to wait and see
  24. Yeah I don't think you can hunt with bait or at nighttime. Just because changes were approved doesn't mean you can hunt by them. Be aware of the CURRENT rules and regs, which to hunt at night you have to have a special permit from TWRA
  25. where did you end up buying from? I think the sigma will serve you well. It didnt even cross my mind really, you dont see to many of them in shops anymore. There were some law enforcement that used them at one time. Let us know what you think
