  1. http://drudge.pricetweet.us/v3/hop.pl?hop=http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2011/07/deputies_on_scene_of_accidenta.html This can't be good for future air travel with firearms
  2. I agree with jayC. Government buildings should not be posted. I believe private property rights are as important as our right to carry. To tell someone what can or cannot happen on their property or business is counter to the idea of democracy and freedom.
  3. I'm down with what is believed to be a bulging disk as well. Been out of work for 2 1/2 weeks. Actually physical therapy has helped me a lot. They use your own muslces to pull your spine into traction and relieve the pressure. I was skeptical at first but have made some good progress since starting therapy. Next step is MRI if not better by Aug 3
  4. Congratulations, Good luck buddy. I think you'll like Orlando, at least the winter has really nice weather.
  5. This is a shame. Surely a 9 mm can be made in this size that is reliable. Hope DB fixes your gun and the quality of production
  6. Not to thread hijack but you have a picture of that, sounds awesome
  7. Nice spot there, did you build the bench or buy it?
  8. Well if there is an Internet mastery award, Mac you win.
  9. Streamlight P1L http://www.streamlight.com/product/product.aspx?pid=200 It's 110 lumens and about $40 bucks online. I love it
  10. Man I didn't realize your price point was so high. You can easily find a Springfield TRP for under $1500 if you look around. I bought one brand new out-the-door for $1200 earlier this year. You might also find a Dan Wesson.
  11. no those are Pachmyer Grips which can be acquired very easily on the internet or some gun shops. these are popular on 1911s without checkering on the front strap, and for those who don't like the checkering.

    New Sig

The barrel is threaded on the end so you can attach a suppressor (aka "a can" "silencer")
  13. Don't buy or don't buy a gun because some guy on the Internet doesn't like them. Understand that any production 1911 can have an issue out of the box. Most of which are caused by the magazines. I would go with a company that has great customer service. Springfield is one of those companies, but so is Kimber. Remember that Kimber makes thousands of 1911s every year so the number of complaints on the Internet are gonna be more. The more guns you sell the higher chances of some problems. I have a Kimber Eclipse and love it, carry it every day. But I also have a Springfield TRP which is awesome. For a target shooter/ range gun, I would buy the Springfield Range Officer, just my two cents
  14. You are required to identify yourself as a handgun carry permit holder when pulled over by police. And you are correct in hat you can't carry in any restaurant that serves alcohol. That's the main factors to know
  15. WBIR says they hope to open before holidayshttp://www.wbir.com/rss/article/173302/2/Academy-Sports-and-Outdoors-to-come-to-Knoxville I think Knox news compiled a story with Target at mortgagors that is planned to open in July 2012
  16. Where did you get this info? Looks like the walls are going up right now. Could be a different store next door though, they have the sign up for hiring people. Seems a little far out to hire people for July 2012, but I don't know much about staffing that's for sure
  17. I can understand your frustration, but any qualified gunsmith could fix that without much trouble. He hardest part is removing the old material from the whole. Rest assured that S&W should fix it
  18. I thought so too. $20 for 1 hr is high as well. I'm used to CCA in Knoxville where it's $10 shoot till your done.
  19. I won't bash because I don't fins it constructive. I will say this, go to a range and practice drawing and chambering if that's how you are gonna carry. It's definitely not my choice but if that's yours training is essential. Oh and I carry a single action 1911. I also pocket carry a p238 cocked and locked. Once you get over the initial nervousness you will find it no big deal to carry, and carry chambered
  20. Find a program as powerful as Excel not made by Microsoft and I'll use it, otherwise office wins.
  21. Yes apparently it's no longer at you're discretion where to go get you're fingerprints. You have to go to one specific place (in Knoxville anyhow). I was not aware of the extra price though.
  22. Numbers is compatible with excel, but I would not risk it for professional or Student use. If Excel won't do what you want, its definitely because you don't know how to make it do it. Excel is a very powerful tool if you can get the education on how to use it to its potential. Most people though only scratch the surface of it's capabilities.
  23. I'm a forester, so I'm outside a lot, climbing through brush a lot. The last 4-5 years have been pretty consistently hot as hell in July, Aug, and early Sept. 2004 & 2005 had some cooler days mixed throughout the summer which was nice, but We haven't had any of those lately. I remember in July of 2005 hey high for a couple days in a row was 70-75. I long for those days sometimes
  24. We bought Microsoft Office for the simple reason that that's what we were familiar with, no learning curve. I have used the iworks stuff but I like Microsoft better. Plus if she needs to exchange documents with classmates she won't have to worry about compatibility. Just my thoughts. I would not buy both, that just seems like a waste
  25. My exact thoughts. Sugar coat it with saying "faster and easier".
