Ellie is brown and Daisy is blonde. Both Maltese/Poodle mix These are the girls that run the house, besides my wife that is. Never thought I would have small lap dogs but it turns out they are pretty good companions. Some day when I have an adequate outside area I would like to have a "man's dog". But I have to say these dogs are smart and that's the only kind to have.

You got enough ammo for that? Talk about dollar bills flyin down range, pricey

Nope, but I carry concealed, and don't get in trouble. You can carry in restaurants there but you're not allowed to sit in the "Bar" area. I frequented Hunts Oyster Bar, but I didn't determine that the bar was for alcohol as much as for shucking oysters. So I sat there while carrying, might be a fine line for an LEO.

ATF-NFA report: Lots of good info here

That's kind of what I assumed but wasn't too sure. I did notice the vast difference in number of forms filed for firearms -
ATF-NFA report: Lots of good info here

Bimmer, Why is the difference in the two charts? The first says "number of NFA forms processed by FY" the second says "number of NFA Firearms processed". There is a steady incline in "forms" but a bell shape for "firearms" -
NM, Google wins again

Excuse my ignorance and thread diversion but what does it mean to "convert" a Saiga?

Think I let the dealership take me for a ride...
Lumber_Jack replied to lock n' load's topic in General Chat
In interest of time I did not read all of the replies in this thread. However I agree with 56ford, that's good advice. The dealerships send those coupons to lure you to their shop so they can sell you lots of extras. Best thing is to throw out the coupons when they come. I have an 08 GMC Seirra with 150,000 miles, and like others have said, have never had brake fluid changed. Because of the heavy amount of driving I do, I do maintenance ever 5,000 mi and have never had the "oil life" meter reach 0. -
Thinking about a suppressor
Lumber_Jack replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Bimmer thanks for the idea, I hadn't thought of doing that. Would you worry about leading the 9mm can while shooting .22? *not familiar with what "QD Style" means *NM got it, Quick Detachable. Google saves the day once again -
Most definitely left to rot. If anything they would collect and burry them. It does seem like a waste of edible meat, but in the nuisance removal hunts it's just about killing the problem.

Thinking about a suppressor
Lumber_Jack replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
So if I run a suppressor to it's end and send it back to have new internals, is the returned can considered the same as far as tax stamps are concerned? Obviously I am clueless to these things. I appreciate the learning. -
Not for $150, they could be cool in your reloading/man cave, but $50 would be my price limit

What would you consider moderate shooting volume? -

Thanks for the help Dolomite, so for non-lead bullets sealed cans are the way to go? -
Thinking about a suppressor

Ok so for the sake of the thread let's say I'm going with .22lr. in a rifle. What would the best platform be 10/22? What about an AR with a .22 conversion? Or just a straight AR in .22lr. What about an AR with a .223 can? Would it perform the same shooting .22 and .223? I understand that .22 leads the can pretty bad so I would definitely want one that seperates. Obviously I wouldn't want to buy 2 supressors at this stage but if I can buy one that works on both calibers, that would be a plus. -
Well I've been wanting a supressor for a while now and need some advice on which route I should take. So first off what should I look to put the suppressor on Choices 1) G19 2) Springfield TRP 3) Ruger 10/22 My ultimate goal would be to put one on the TRP, however with the cost of the supressor, new barrel and fitting the price is gonna be high. So that said I was leaning toward a 10/22 or another similar 22. I have one but don't want to modify it, so I would most likely buy another. With this the suppressers are cheaper and so is the ammo. I may end up having some good money invested but it would be cheap to shoot and really quiet. And of course with the Glock I would just need the barrel an can. What would you do if you were me? What do you think of Griffin Armament supressors if I went the 22 route? (cheapest I've seen)

Nice videos, the first one is scary fast for an SUV, I like tue second much better. I did the math one day, if you had about $15k to add on to a new JK you could have an awesome on-road/ off-road jeep. Sooo anyone got about $45k they wanna give me?

The older models ( mine was 97) measured speed using a plastic gear with teeth that measured transmission revolutions, all I had to do was buy a new gear to match the actual tire size and speedo was corrected.
-
That's what I ran on mine. It was strong on the low end and still ran 80 on hwy no problem. Recommended tire/gear ratio 37" - 5.13 35" - 4.88 33" - 4.10 31" - 3.73 You can certainly operate outside these perimeters, it's just what I would recommend

This is exactly what I thought when first hearing about the riots and looting. Now even in America riot police usually carry nonlethal weapons. But the fact that everyday patrolman don't carry guns could have lead to the escalation I'm the first place. I mean how much stronger would thugs feel if face with a cop who only carried a stick. And on a side note they know store owners don't have guns. How Many dead looters, at the hands of armed owners, would it take for the riots to subside.

I think db99wj's point on engine and gear ratio is very important when buying a new jeep. Especially if you buy the bigger 4 door. Don't just buy one that lists the highest gas mileage because it may turn out to be a disappointment on performance. Oh and I Agee 100000% DO NOT LEASE A CAR, it's the worst financial decision you could make. It's like buying furniture at rent to own. You end up paying way more than just saving, putting a down payment, and buying the darn thing.

Married guy 'Kitchen Pass' Strategy and Tactics?
Lumber_Jack replied to QuietDan's topic in General Chat
I don't look at it as permission as much as an adult discussion of how our finances are spent. There is no 'my' money it's OUR money, even though she is a full time student and I am the only one earning an actual income. But this is to my advantage cause she is in Medical School and someday when she is bringing in $250k /year I still want it to be OUR money -
I would check tread wear at different psi levels maximize your tire life. Best way to do this is take a piece of white chalk and make a like across the tread. Drive a few hundred feet and look at where the chalk has rubbed off. If it's worn more in the middle you need to drop psi and vice versa. I did this on my 08 GMC and I have to run about 38lbs in my BFGs
