  1. Yeah I was a party to that thread, no real proof who was posting. Could have been the owner on a bad day. I have never experience anything similar inside the store. I treat it as water under the bridge and try not to be so sensitive. I boycotted them for a short time but decided it was kind of petty.
  2. Yeah I should clarify, they have a good amount of guns, just not quite the variety they used too. For the record they have about 2.5x the amount of guns that Coal Creek has.
  3. Not completely sure about that. I believe there is a provision for collectibles. However no destiction says it has to be old, etc. I know a lot of people have them, some on this forum.
  4. Yeah I paid $34.99+tax at SMKW. I figured I could get it a few dollars cheaper online, but the convenience of "take it home now" won out.
  5. Makes sense about not being strangled. And yes I have noticed the chest hair pulling. Maybe after a while they'll all be pulled out
  6. It's not great, but it's not bad either. I can get three fingers (pinky thru middle) and draw with index ready to grasp the loop. It comes free with a firm swift pull, just like a similar style gun holster. Its kind of hard to re-sheath because the point can catch inside the sheath. But that's not too much of an issue.
  7. They told me they quit going to gun shows because it decreased the weekend shop sales too much. That's been about a year ago, so they may have started back again, I don't know
  8. Aha, now that sounds good. I dint realize you could switch uppers like that. Very good info. Dolomite, If we get together soon be prepared to answer a lot of questions
  9. So I stopped by Smokey Mountain Knife Works today and decided to pick up my first neck knife. I bought the Cold Steel - mini tac Kiridashi. I bought this primarily as a backup self defense knife. I love the size and shape of the blade for it's intended purpose. It would be a handy utility blade if one so desired. The scales are a nice G10 with a nice shape to allow a really secure grip. I'm not sure how comfortable the chain is gonna be in the long run, but if necessary I can make a replacement out of 550 cord. Updates will come with more use
  10. Is it a big gunsmithing undertaking to get a suppressor permanently attached?
  11. I like the staff, especially one younger guy that came from the old shop ( gotee). I think his name is Eric. I too was disappointed in their stock the past few times. They do have a nice range. It's worth a atop of you're in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't drive a long way unless you're lookin to use the range.
  12. The NFL has increased pat downs because of the stun gun incident. Prior it was pat down from waste up, now it's full body. I suspect it won't be TSA quality groping not with 80,000 people to get in before kickoff
  13. Post #13 sums it up best. The gun is good and has gotten great reviews. The problem is finding one to buy.
  14. I don't carry pepper spray but I would have asked if anyone had some. I have zero tolerance for beating someone once they've quit fighting. Hell at the very least get in there and dot that bitches eye good. I bet they would have run or given up. I'll deal with the consequences later
  15. That is correct
  16. Awesome knife Does this gentleman have a shop or just work from home. Does he sell direct to general public or just friends?
  17. Man that looks good. Love the color combo. Not just the standard Sig. Great work
  18. Cool, let us know how you like it when it arrives. I contemplated that knife for a while as I was looking for a neck knife. In the pursuit I have been distracted by other ventures, but am still considering one.
  19. It's so nice to know the government is here to keep us safe. Lord knows with all those switchblades, suppressors, and automatic weapons off the streets I sleep easy at night.
  20. I was sure you'd chime in with the truth sooner or later. But technically it doesn't say they 'can't' sell them but they would be precluded from prosecution. Is that correct? How do people buy them here, online?
  21. EDIT: I meant to quote nicemac here but messed it up, sorry man. We often refer to schools as "public schools" when really they are "government schools". And nothing that comes from the government surprises me.
  22. My thoughts exactly. I live in a condo unit and would not hesitate to go dig a hole out back, regardless of whether or not I technically own the property. Another thought. If your on city sewer, and others continue to manually flush sewage with outside water. What are the chances of backups into you're home. I'd be prepared to cap your main line if necessay.
  23. Probably the second biggest mistake they made, behind chasing them. Drive up ATMs are bad, walk up are worse, and never after dark.
  24. My point exactly, if they got the drop on you, you're most likely better to just cough up the money and be prepared if it escalates further. If they turn and run…let it go
  25. You're allowed to buy and own them as collectables and such. You just can't carry them on your person. Some stores won't sell switchblades to non police and military, but I believe that is just the store policy, not law.
