  1. They told me they quit going to gun shows because it decreased the weekend shop sales too much. That's been about a year ago, so they may have started back again, I don't know
  2. Aha, now that sounds good. I dint realize you could switch uppers like that. Very good info. Dolomite, If we get together soon be prepared to answer a lot of questions
  3. So I stopped by Smokey Mountain Knife Works today and decided to pick up my first neck knife. I bought the Cold Steel - mini tac Kiridashi. I bought this primarily as a backup self defense knife. I love the size and shape of the blade for it's intended purpose. It would be a handy utility blade if one so desired. The scales are a nice G10 with a nice shape to allow a really secure grip. I'm not sure how comfortable the chain is gonna be in the long run, but if necessary I can make a replacement out of 550 cord. Updates will come with more use
  4. Is it a big gunsmithing undertaking to get a suppressor permanently attached?
  5. I like the staff, especially one younger guy that came from the old shop ( gotee). I think his name is Eric. I too was disappointed in their stock the past few times. They do have a nice range. It's worth a atop of you're in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't drive a long way unless you're lookin to use the range.
  6. The NFL has increased pat downs because of the stun gun incident. Prior it was pat down from waste up, now it's full body. I suspect it won't be TSA quality groping not with 80,000 people to get in before kickoff
  7. Post #13 sums it up best. The gun is good and has gotten great reviews. The problem is finding one to buy.
  8. I don't carry pepper spray but I would have asked if anyone had some. I have zero tolerance for beating someone once they've quit fighting. Hell at the very least get in there and dot that bitches eye good. I bet they would have run or given up. I'll deal with the consequences later
  9. That is correct
  10. Awesome knife Does this gentleman have a shop or just work from home. Does he sell direct to general public or just friends?
  11. Man that looks good. Love the color combo. Not just the standard Sig. Great work
  12. Cool, let us know how you like it when it arrives. I contemplated that knife for a while as I was looking for a neck knife. In the pursuit I have been distracted by other ventures, but am still considering one.
  13. It's so nice to know the government is here to keep us safe. Lord knows with all those switchblades, suppressors, and automatic weapons off the streets I sleep easy at night.
  14. I was sure you'd chime in with the truth sooner or later. But technically it doesn't say they 'can't' sell them but they would be precluded from prosecution. Is that correct? How do people buy them here, online?
  15. EDIT: I meant to quote nicemac here but messed it up, sorry man. We often refer to schools as "public schools" when really they are "government schools". And nothing that comes from the government surprises me.
  16. My thoughts exactly. I live in a condo unit and would not hesitate to go dig a hole out back, regardless of whether or not I technically own the property. Another thought. If your on city sewer, and others continue to manually flush sewage with outside water. What are the chances of backups into you're home. I'd be prepared to cap your main line if necessay.
  17. Probably the second biggest mistake they made, behind chasing them. Drive up ATMs are bad, walk up are worse, and never after dark.
  18. My point exactly, if they got the drop on you, you're most likely better to just cough up the money and be prepared if it escalates further. If they turn and run…let it go
  19. You're allowed to buy and own them as collectables and such. You just can't carry them on your person. Some stores won't sell switchblades to non police and military, but I believe that is just the store policy, not law.
  20. Even with a carry permit one would have to make the decision on drawing. Do I have time, will he still get a shot off. $120 is a lot of money to lose especially for college students, but its not worth dying over. With that said I still feel better being armed, at least your odds are better .
  21. Yeah I wouldn't hesitate one second on that M&P. It's obviously a spring assisted knife with controls on the blade. I agree the law is stupid, but getting it changed is the tricky part
  22. Interesting, I assumed they could. I wonder if they do, since they can buy them? I would assume if you can buy one by being and EMT, you could carry under the same pretense. Another strange law.
  23. Different strokes and all that. I would look into vz grips in a not so aggressive pattern. Maybe even the 'slim' version. I have VZ's on my TRP and I like them, but they are pretty aggressive.
  24. Caster, i know what you are talking about. I do that with my MacBook. It appears at first to be logged out, but if I click on "what's new", viola, I'm logged in. This does not however work for the iPad. I think safari and this version vbulletin don't like each other. My 1911forum.com account stays logged in no problem.
  25. You are correct. You have to be Military, Police, or EMT/Fire Rescue, to carry. We can however own them, just not carry.
