  2. It's like dejavu all over again. Walmart's goal in life is ultimate gun control, their whole business strategy is to shut down the gun industry, not make money. Oh by the way that's the R15 Remington special built hunting AR, been out for a while, pretty good price, competitive at least, rarely see them under $1100
  3. I agree with OS, just ask for ID to prove they are 18+ and TN resident. Then ask them "are you legally allowed to buy/own a firearm?". If they say yes, take the money.
  4. Oops, I don't read no good
  5. +1 I always check mag, and do a press check prior to holstering very time. Now if your mag release was pressed while carrying this would not solve your problem. As Mike.357 said find the problem and resolve it, otherwise you might as well leave it at home. Especially since you don't carry chambered, you wouldn't even have one shot
  6. Most definitely, perfectly safe when used as directed on can.
  7. As a Forester ticks and chiggers are a constant everyday work hazard. Nothing works better than Perminone, and it will last for a couple weeks even through washings. I have seen people put it directly on their skin and I would NOT do that. It's not healthy, I would also take care to tand upwind when applying as to not breathe it in. Some might say "if it's so unhealthy, why use it". My answer is because Lyme disease is far worse I've know guys who have gotten it and it can be a very debilitating condition and hard to diagnose early. I would recommend that everyone use some sort of tick repellant before entering the woods. It's just not worth the risk.
  8. Make sure you research from one of the websites. The most crucial for beginners us having the razor professionally honed, not just factory sharp. Factories proclaim razors as "shave ready" but apparently that is a subpar standard and can make for a bad experience. I'm gonna try it too as soon as I acquire the appropriate equipment.
  9. Yeah they start with WM just so dealers will know they are made of paper mâché. Just for the record I love Walmart. I buy where the price is lowest. And when you need it Walmart is always open.
  10. If you get the sportsman channel "lock n load Mondays" is a series of gun shows too. Personal Defense, Tac TV, etc
  11. As Mike said, I like grease cause it doesn't run all over the place, stays where you put it for a long time. Otherwise both work just fine
  12. Since this has turned into the shaving thread: For those who have never tried it the store in the mall called The Body Shop sells shave cream call Maca Root. It's the best stuff hands down. Especially if you apply with a bush(gets under wiskers). Even if you shave with a cartridge razor like me. Try it out
  13. Yeah and Sportmans Channel is 726, maybe? I have Charter here in JC and it comes with extended HD package. The inlaws have Comcast in Knoxville but I wasn't sure if you had to have the sports package or not.
  14. Franks barbershop in Knoxville is the only place I know of that does straight razor shaves. I haven't had one there but I know they offer the service
  15. It was on last night, during Midways Wed night at the range. It was good, they talked about the invention of the AR-15 and adoption by us as M16, early problems and transition into M4. The only draw back is if someone wasn't familiar the could get confused. One expert talked about the .223 caliber, while the next mentioned 5.56 with no mention of how they correlated. It was worth watching IMO
  16. Hoppe's #9 cleaner and oil. I use mil-comm TW25b grease on my 1911s. I bought a tube of Montana Extreme grease which works well in very high or low temps, but smells horrendous. So I'm going back to Mil-Comm
  17. If you guys haven't been there check out this site http://straightrazorplace.com It has everything you need to know about shaving with a straight razor. Great tips for beginners, how-to's and such as well as a forum were people can bicker of the subtle nuances of the skill just like here
  18. Nice, it's funny I just spent probably 3 hrs reading an searching straight razors. (while watching the Braves tank another game) Where did you end up ordering from? Did it come honed? Did you buy a strop too? Is this too many questions?
  19. Agreed, we need a place for them to focus their energy. With that said I will do everything in my power to never live in that state. Which is a shame because there are some truly beautiful places there.
  20. Side Note: Larry may be the nicest guy in the world, but on TV, he was overbearing, loud, and unwatchable.
  21. I wouldn't be carrying one for a living either so I'd say my use would be more on par with yours. But if used on a home defense gun that might sit in closet for a while i sure want the batteries to last for a while I would love an Aimpoint but price is always a factor
  22. Dolomite said the battery life on the Eotech was fractional compared to the Burris fastfire or millet zoom dot. What's your experience?
  23. I believe you are correct If the shoe fits... I didn't say he wasn't a great patriot to whom I am greatful for his service. Nor did I say he didn't know what he was talking about. I said he was a jackass. Go to sportsmans channel/Tac Tv and watch the m203 episode and tell me your opinions
  24. I was really just asking for pure curiosity. I think what I might actually do is buy something I can mount on my ruger 10/22, as it only has irons right now. Then could move to AR once I've procured one. For that I like the Sparc or Burris Fastfire. I actually missed the opurtunity to get on local in the classified section. Oh well I'm in no hurry, birthday and Christmas coming up. Don't worry Dolomite I will call you before I buy anything retail, and thanks for the help.
