  1. Obviously Dolomite is faster on the trigger and more experienced than I.
  2. My first carry gun was/is a Kimber 4" 1911. Nothing "advanced" about it. A couple of things you need to keep in mind. 1) it has a manual thumb safety, so practice drawing and disengaging the safety is crucial. You don't want to think when under stress, just needs to be muscle memory. 2)1911s can be picky with magazines and ammo. So I would shoot no less than 200 rounds of my self defense rounds to ensure reliability. Other than that just know how the gun works, and go for it.
  3. A majority of cyclists you've encountered is not a majority of cyclists. And the bike rider who came of the sidewalk doesn't count, he was on the sidewalk as many have stated they should be. And if you were turning, the bike (if assuming the same as a pedestrian) had the right of way. Now if the bike rider was in the road, and passed you as you turned then he would have been clearly in the wrong. This is exactly why bicycles should not be ridden on sidewalks. They move too quickly for motorists to yield when turning, and if on the sidewalk have no expectation to stop before crossing the road. As far as running stop signs and red lights, its wrong. Nothing more can be said about that.
  4. I thought you were done with this? We can always count on JReed to take up the fight for the cyclist. J I'm surprised you have any energy left after the last thread like this.
  5. If it's got a motor it has to be licensed. Not ATVs, go carts. Bikes, big wheels, yes. There is minimum speed just like there is no minimum for motor vehicles. As a side if a car passes a cyclist on a double yellow and hits another car head on, that's not the cyclists fault. The cyclist should yield if there is not reasonable room to pass safely.
  6. Obviously Smith rides a lot faster than me
  7. First off bicycles are not allowed on sidewalks. Those are for pedestrians. Secondly you can't ride 15mph on a sidewalk, it's unsafe for both pedestrians and cyclists. 3 foot flag is obnoxious but he is just demonstrating the law. If all motorists obeyed the 3 foot law I'm sure he would take the flag off. Obviously more people are against cyclists than for them, and I don't believe anyone here wanted to hit anyone on purpose. I just don't like the sentiment, and people use "they deserve it" way too often. BTW, I thought the video was funny
  8. His mistake was doin the first interview. Once he became popular he was doomed. After all he was breaking the law, regardless of how likable he was. If a weed dealer did a special on the 6 o'clock news, the DEA would be knocking down his door at 6:30
  9. Yes it's untrue. You are obviously unable to grasp the idea that cyclist should be able to reasonably expect to ride and not get run over. Accidents happen, it's a risk the rider has to assume.
  10. Because you stated that certain people deserve to be hit by a car. I think that is ridiculous. I don't care if your stuck behind them for an hour, or if they do break tesffic laws, no one deserves to be hit by a car. And its that mentality that makes law abiding cyclists a target by moterists. Reality is they have a right o be on the road, end of story. If they break traffic laws, call a cop and report them. Bike color, jersey, etc. They are legally bound to obey the law like all other people on the road.
  11. Don't sweat it you'll be fine. You'll go to sleep, wake up groggy drooling with a mouth full of gauze. You'll be sore for a day or two, but nothing pain meds won't help you with. I quit taking pain meds after the first day cause I was tired I'd sleeping all the time. Just took Tylenol for another couple days. Worst thing I had was a piece of food got stuck in the hole and I didnt realize until my breath started getting rank. Use mouth wash after you eat and if you get food stuck get a water bottle and flush out the area. good luck
  12. I see far more people NOT on bicycles blatantly ignoring traffic laws putting real peoples lives in danger. Let's face it tue only person at risk is the bicyclist, but when you drive 85 on the interstate or turn right on red without stopping, no one posts a thread about that. It's the same old ***** different day with threads like this. Honestly how many cyclists do you pass in a month? And how many mins do you have to wait, 2,3 at most. I've never met a bigger bunch of whiney asses in my life.
  13. I agree with Jason. I love Derek Dooley and all this BS about "is he on the hot seat?" is just ludicrous. We should be glad to win ANY games considering where we were when Kiffin left. I think the chances are very slim we win against LSU, but I'm gonna go cheer like it's #1 vs #2 because at the end of the day it's still out team. I still see effort and 'will to win' and thats all it takes for me. When they quit and don't play hard that's when I quit watching.
  14. Thanks I'm gonna try to get the Spanish point honed and ready to shave. The square point I'm considering buffing down to clean metal and then get it honed. I've watched a lot of restoration videos and feel confident I can do it, just gotta get the stuff and get it done
  15. Id love to see that, post some pics when your done. the second one appears to be rusty in the pic, but is smooth to the touch, more of a stain or patina. hopefully it will buff out well
  16. Alright
  17. What's an "as can?"
  18. Went to the Antique Festival in Clinton, TN today and found 2 vintage JA Henckel straight razors. One is in good shape the other needs some polishing and both need a professional sharpening. Paid $30 for the first and $25 for second
  19. Gonna have to go back to writing checks
  20. Good to know, I assumed they all had a removable flash hider
  21. Doesn't the standard M&P 15-22 cone with a threaded barrel? Like a standard AR?
  22. I just can't imagine what he thought he would see in the barrel? A little green gremlin holding the firing pin, laughing?
  23. Those are called safety razors, even though most people see them as dangerous. They were the precursor to cartridge razors and post straight razors. Don't know if anyone will carry them now however you may find one at an antique store. There are definitely a plethora o options on the interwebs. Just google Safet Razor. Blades are sometimes hard to come by, but also can be found online.
