  1. So your sayin you'll be there
  2. Might have, I tried not to look anyone in the face or they'd see my disgust for crowded places, haha. No special prices at the tables that's for sure. I did see a new LWRC AR for $949, until I inquired about it and learned it was an LWRC lower and double star upper. Tag listed as LWRC. I wanted to declare false advertising, but just payed it down and walked away . Not that I have anything against double star, just thought I found the steal of a lifetime.
  3. Show was great from 9-9:45. By 10:30 you couldn't stir em with a stick. I did find a good deal on a pistol from an individual. Worth the 8 bucks to get in if you go early.
  4. I look like........ <<<<<<this
  5. Couple pints of Sweetwater 420
  6. What are the closing times for Saturday and Sunday?
  7. Thanks Dave, good info there.
  8. I think your suggestion makes sense. But I wonder if areas with rub marks may need to be tight and just rub enough to show, then you file it out some and now you've created a problem. I wonder how much of the breakin in is just working the recoil spring to soften it up
  9. Are the usual suspects gonna show up on Saturday? I'm actually in Knoxville this weekend.
  10. In my professional opinion I'd say 100-125 yards. It appears far in the pic but using tree heights and other references that's my guess. I've seen 100s of cuts just like that and walked across them all. So I know they appear vast but in reality aren't that far across.
  11. I carried a 4" Kimber for almost 2 years. Since I have switched to full size. I liked the full size grip of the 4" but I don't find it much easier to conceal than a full size. I do t much care for a 3" gun as they can be finicky on the reliability side.
  12. Yep it's the annual end of year 3 day gun show.
  13. +1 I'll wait till they are the proclaimed $600-700 range
  14. I think it's paranoia. I believe it could be done without a national database. I think the most rational argument against it is, it denies the state its right to regulate who carries there. Even though I don't agree with Illinois ' lack of carry law I do support their right to choose one way or another without federal mandate.
  15. Still leaves the question of, if a man goes through the trouble to tan hides, what's the best way to sell them?
  16. Hmm, how would one go about selling pelts if a few were collected? Is online the only way?
  17. One would think this is a good way to be accurate, however as DaveTN stated often LEO don't know the laws. Story: I was in a jewelry store shopping for Christmas, and a man approached the Knox county deputy, in full uniform, standing at the door. He asked "is Virginia carry permit reciprocal in Tennessee?". The deputy replied "I'm not sure, you should look it up on the Internet."
  18. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. I feel bad for her too, especially on the heals of a celebrity (Plexico Burres) getting 2 years in prison for his mishap. Now she didn't discharge her weapon but could still see the inside of a jail cell. Sad
  19. I travel extensively throughout the south east for work. Although most states are reciprocal, I still have to keep up with the laws in each state. For example in North Carolina your required to notify police of being armed during routine traffic stops. In Georgia you cannot carry in a place of worship. In Florida you can carry in restaurants that serve alcohol, but you are not allowed to sit in the specific "bar" area of said restaurant. There are also different stipulations on open carry vs concealed carry from state to state. There are resources out there that simplify the laws for laypersons to understand. You just have to take the initiative to read them. (posted at same time as above, maybe a little redundant. I also use handgunlaw.us as well as an iPhone app called "Legal Heat") You are more than welcome to use my comments, and can PM me if you need clarification. Neil Owens Knoxville
  20. Well yes, sort of, he is saying it will require cleaning more often ~1k rounds or so. Carbine will run longer due to high pressure gas recoil overcoming friction from buildup. As far as twist you should consider how far you want to shoot. See Dolomites post history for extensive discussions on twist rate.
  21. Well got the new LCP out and ran 50 rounds through it. Needless to say its gonna take practice to be accurate. The heavy trigger pull and small frame had a lot of my shots going down and right. I had 1 FTF and 2 FTE in 50 rounds using cheap Tulla. I have 100rnds of WWB that I'm gonna try next and see how that does. I am pleased so far, I never had intentions of this being a more than 10' self defense gun. Updates to come with the next 100 rounds PS my hand is sore, haha
  22. How much for how many? If a guy only kills 5-6 a year is it worth the effort?
  23. People commenting on the story are funny...so many idiots in the world it's ridiculous.
