  1. FTFY Kidding of course Sent from my Mom's basement
  2. Cherokee would be what I'd be looking for. I see a lot of Suzuki sidekicks out there. For off road they do well, road travel is suspect though. Sent from my Mom's basement
  3. Just joined the afflicted myself. After buying a compete rifle with backup sights, I've already spent $275 on accessories. Sent from my Mom's basement
  4. I think if you go with most major brands you'll be fine. Bushmaster, S&W, Rock River, Stag, Double Star, Sig, etc etc etc If you're willing to drive to Knoxville, Predator Customs sells a bare bones carbine for $749. Comes with front sight gas block. All you need is a rear sight and your good to go. They make quality stuff Sent from my Mom's basement
  5. http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Rock_River_Arms_LAR_15_Fall_Special_Midlength_Hand_p/rra-bb1001.htm This is a great deal! Put TGO in promotion box and get 5% off. Makes it about $712. I'd hurry when they run out they're gone. Sent from my Mom's basement
  6. Have you looked at the Lucid 2x-5x adjustable magnifier? Runs about $230. Read on Ar15.com a guy ran one behind and Eotech in a 3 gun match and said it performed well. They make standard 2x and 3x magnifiers as well. Maybe not war worthy, but should work fine. Or just buy the Vortex 3x with flip out mount for $230 and save your pennies for the Eotech down the road. I bet the vortex works fine for a long while. Disclosure: I'm no professional and my advice should be taken with a grain is salt. Just throwing out ideas. Sent from my Mom's basement
  7. My guns will run the Tulla Ammo from Walmart but is only slightly cheaper than Winchester White Bix 100 packs, and I keep the brass(Tulla is steel cased) If you want to buy bulk, Georgia Arms travels to gun shows. Thats not bargain basement, but its a good deal for good ammo. Sent from my Mom's basement
  8. Most weekends I'd say yes, but gonna be busy this weekend. Maybe next time. Sent from my Mom's basement
  9. I will say that nursing jobs in the Tri-Cities (Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City) are plentiful. I would look there for a job an locate accordingly. Also remember Chattanooga is close to Mountains too, if that's part of your criteria. Sent from my Mom's basement
  10. Oh there are women here for sure. He just stated in the OP that is was a male. Sent from my Mom's basement
  11. It does seem ridiculous. But it sheds light on what it would be like if the anti-gunners get their way in this country. No door-to-door knocking, but one at a time. One slip up, someone sees your gun and turns you in. It is stupid of the man though. Why do you need 3? If you have 1, keep it hidden. So dumb. Maybe learn some hand to hand combat skills and leave the gun at home. Sent from my Mom's basement
  12. What equipment (ie gun, caliber) would one need to compete at that range? Sent from my Mom's basement
  13. I think most, like me, are just waiting for someone in a particular region to organize. We don't have many good outdoor ranges near Knoxville that can support large groups, don't charge fees, and don't have range nazis. So if you can organize a shoot, I'd say do it. As I said before "build it and we will come" Sent from my Mom's basement
  14. I've been in Hazard, Ky for work the past couple days. I saw they also carried the Sig M400 Hunter for $897. Comes with Magpul MOE handgaurd, no sights and no rail on gas block. Has 20" barrel with no flash suppressor. Has A2 stock. They also had an M&P-22, and a Remington R-15 Sent from my Mom's basement
  15. You need to look in Greeneville, Erwin area. One of the prettiest places in the state yet not a tourist attraction. I would steer clear of Townsend, wears Valley, Walland, just because if the increase is property price. They are great places, but would take some serious searching and waiting to find something in your budget. Rural land with timber is gonna run $1000-$2000+ per acre that's without a house. So 100ac might be a little ambitious for your budget. If you find land you like for under $1000 per acre, look into why it's so low. Maybe bad drug/crime area, poor timber, or maybe they just need to sell it fast Sent from my Mom's basement
  16. It wasn't your opinion that was the problem. I certainly welcome all regardless if I agree. It was this comment. But seriously, there's no grudge, no hard feelings, I was joking with the "talking about your mother" comment. 90% of everything I say(type) shouldn't be taken seriously. Sent from my Mom's basement
  17. I took a buddy (24 years old) shooting for the first time 2 weeks ago. He shot 4" .357 magnum first, then 38 snub nose, then .45 1911, 40 sigma. If the new shooter isn't scared of guns or timid, I'd just start with a glock and then swap them out. As long as he practices good gun safety recoil isn't going to hurt him. Be sure to explain everything. Sometimes we take certain safety and shooting techniques for granted that a new shooter might not know. Even if I think they 'do' know I tell them again anyway. 18. Depends on the date but I'm always down for shooting. Sent from my Mom's basement
  19. Define "long". 200, 300, +? I'm not sure I have a proper gun for such a class Sent from my Mom's basement
  20. I commend you Glenn, I think you're the first person in the history if this forum to admit you were wrong. Others just keep forcing the issue to futility, just to save face. Sent from my Mom's basement
  21. Parker Wyatt A couple I like. Sent from my Mom's basement
  22. You'd a thought I talked bad about their momma Sent from my Mom's basement
  23. Kimber 4" .45 Sent from my Mom's basement
  24. Just for the record, the whole Michelin comment was just a joke to stir up obviously it worked (a little too well) My experience is with full size trucks, driving half highway, half off-road. Michelin doesn't make a tire with their name on it that suits my needs. For what it's worth my wife's C300 has Michelin tires, and I cried when I had to pay for them. Sent from my Mom's basement
