  1. A buddy of mine inherited a S&W snub nose 38. What's the best way to determine which model and year it is. This is all in a course to determine value for resale.
  2. They are the ones who called the cops. But its funny, now the parents are claiming it was only a butter knife highly unlikely they would shoot him over a butter knife. I agree he should have been better controlled.
  3. Seems excessive, but I wasn't there. I think a night stick to the firearm and he'd drop that knife. Or what about a tazer?
  4. http://www.google.com/gwt/x?u=http%3A%2F%2Fchicago.cbslocal.com/2012/02/01/boy-15-shot-dead-by-police-in-calumet-city/&wsi=3a38f6014a7874dd&ei=vwcrT7y6JKOSxQLJ_6wx&wsc=bf
  5. If you watch the full video, the crash is on the right at 1:18 mark.
  6. 50 yards is plenty far enough or me.
  7. Haha, was she on the handlebars....or......spider style?
  8. I enjoy Chandlers as well, spicy BBQ and fried chicken!!!
  9. Y'all need to quit asking clerks in box stores questions. Jut go in, state what you want, buy it, and leave.
  10. Good question. If they just unholstered and held at low ready while instructing an irate road-rager to calm down and get back in his vehicle. Then I may have a totally different view of the incident. (aside from the off duties not reporting the incident) I believe it was believed (assumed) they pointed them at Estep. But I don't think the facts are actually known.
  11. I had a cousin that couldn't get betters than 4" groups at 100 yds with 55 gr and 1:10 twist. He moved down to 50 gr and you could cover the shot holes with a quarter. The slower twist rate will not stabilize heavier bullets as well as lighter. But I'm of the mindset that, 'it never hurts to try'! Just don't buy a 500 rnd case until you know how well they work.
  12. Well that's good to know. I just hope the Mayor told all the local LEOs. Plus, technically, guns aren't banned, just the the carrying of loaded guns, right?
  13. I like the BAD Lever on mine. Might just be a personal preference though. If nothing it makes it easy to lock the bolt open without switching hands.
  14. I don't think there are any special provisions for dealers or vendors. I saw a vendor at the last show who had his sidearm holstered. It visibly had no magazine, so I assumed it didn't have a round chambered either. As stated above, it is against city ordinance to carry at the Jacobs Building, so even vendors aren't exempt from that.
  15. It's cool man, don't worry about it. Your gonna get replies that you don't like in any thread you post. Just sort out the useful and let the rest slide.
  16. A manual safety may not have prevented this either. To shoot yourself in the hand, you have to break several safety rules.

    M&P9 vs 1911

+1 Just be patient. Sell your M&P, then take cash and look for a 1911
  18. I'm not quite sure you can put a 45 slide on a 1911 .22. ThTs not to mention it would be hard to find just the complete upper portion without building it. I would just look for a complete .45 that you could afford. Look at Rock Island ATI Metro Classic Arms For lower budget guns that still get good reviews. Now if you buy a .45 you can get a 22 conversion that will make it cheaper to practice with. It's just like the idea you posted above, but in reverse.
  19. Looks like a lot if folks that I've not met at previous get togethers. I'll try extra hard to make this event.
  20. I find they are all the same regardless of who puts them on. As stated above, prices are too high. I go to browse the tables and look for private sales, that's really the only place I find deals
  21. I've used Bacon & Co back when I was in college. They were great to work with. If you can make the digital design yourself, you will save some money. We did not, we just had an idea and they made the design. I can't remember the price, but we were poor college group, so it couldn't have been too much. They are on summit hill in downtown Knoxville. http://www.baconco.com/
  22. Are you looking for suggestions or people who actually print shirts?
  23. All Mossberg has to do is get it used in a movie. They'll sell like hotcakes....or become illegal in California
  24. I helped my father in law move his in. It is probably half the size of yours maybe a little more. I got it on a standard dolly, and thought it might rip my arms off at the shoulders. I got it moved but it was very taxing. Thankfully there were no stairs involved. If there had been we would have been screwed.
  25. Mud and water are the killers of leather boots. If you take the time to clean, dry, and oil your boots every night or 2, they would last longer. However that's pretty impractical, especially when that's the last thing you wanna do when you get off work.
