  1. Looks like he does have the original papers and manual, but no box.
  2. Haha, no that was their open market estimate. They said they couldn't offer near that much, obviously.
  3. Great info from everyone here. It's much appreciated. Now I just need to decide at what point I'm interested and if not, just help him make the best deal possible.
  4. True they're prices are too high on a lot of things. But $679 with 3 mags is a good deal regardless. Even if they were mil-surp mags.
  5. Thanks for all the help guys. I think if he could trade it a long way towards a M&P 9mm he would be happy. He doesn't have a lot of extra scratch so I was just trying to help him maximize his sale. I think a guy at Coal Creek told him it was worth $600, so it looks like I've got some 'bubble bursting' to do.
  6. I think they have a published list of "assault rifles". Some of which are completely redic, like old magazine fed war weapons like sks.
  7. I hold Dan Wesson at a high level in my book. I don't think you would be disappointed in the slightest. With that said I would just order the Ed Brown and be patient. I would love nothing more than to have an Ed Brown Special Forces Carry.
  8. Thanks man. I'd say just to be conservative it's probably 85-90%. Good condition.
  9. Yeah I know the box adds value, but it was inherited so there is no telling what happened to the box. I don't think he has any delusions of getting rich, just wants to fund a good semi-auto carry gun.
  10. a 2" barrel is surprisingly loud even in .38. remember you are at an angle for maximum concussion when standing in the lane next to the shooter. im assuming it was the small 2" version
  11. they are 5.56
  12. its in real good condition. no scratches or dings, original grips, no box or papers. i'll try to get some pics to post
  13. Thats a good price on the sport though.
  14. Thanks. That's close enough. Obviously I'm trying to value the gun for him or maybe buy it from him. Gunbroker has limited examples. You know a better place to find value. I don't have the blue book if guns.
  15. Ok so it's a Mod 60, serial R96xxx anyone got a date of manufacture?
  16. Asheville can be expensive to live, very large 2nd home market in that area. They are also very 'Green' in that town, very hippy. Of course this is a generalization, not all housing and people are that way. But the mountains are very beautiful. I currently live in Knoxville and love it. It has the best of all worlds. Mountains nearby, lakes, sports, relatively good shopping (so says the wife), good communities. I think you would really like Knoxville. But living here and being a UT grad, I may be biased. Edit: if money is not a factor Asheville has some very nice living! I do believe you shooting opportunities would be better in Knoxville as Oak Ridge Shooting Association is a popular club. I'm not familiar with NC shooting opportunities but I'm sure there are some.
  17. ....and the plot thickens
  18. The only differences I can find are the rail gas block, forward assist, dust cover, and I believe a chrome lined barrel
  19. Give him time, he'll be around
  20. Didn't Kimber try this already? Ah here it is... Called the Ten II, now discontinued.
  21. Misunderstood, the original article title said Autism. Which would mean he could reason but not communicate.
  22. Wow thanks for all the info. I'll get some answers and post the results and maybe a pic or two.
  23. And what's so wrong with using a $2 bill?
  24. Understood. I just want to believe that he didn't have to die. Obviously he was wielding a deadly weapon and has little ability to reason or at least communicate.
  25. Haha, ok I have no idea of it's age but assume its not a rare vintage. Thanks for the info.
