Well we expect pictures

It was a canceled order, so it should be available soon, if I purchase it that is.

Yes, but the jury is undecided on weather it's truly hearing safe. Most are not, but have heard of a couple ( over barrel design) that get quiet with the right load. SBR makes one, but doesn't list performance http://www.sbrammunition.com/class3.html HTG rated for .45 thru full power .458 http://www.htgsilencers.com/Products/Suppressors/Handgun_Suppressors/?ProductID=2557

Yes, it's the RRA CAR A4
-
No....what are you waiting for Seriously, if you have the scratch, buy both, shoot both and then decide if you wanna keep em or sell one.
-
I looked at .338 but uppers are a little scarce. That's why I only mentioned .300 & .458. Everything seems to lean towards .300, so I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see if he has any deals on uppers. Don't be surprised if I just break down and buy the .458 Edit: One other drawback is I live in Knoxville m-f and my loading equipment is in Johnson City. That has really hurt production lately. Maybe catch up this winter.
-
It's not my first, this was I was just considering another. I have changed my mind though. I'm thinking big bore upper. .300Blk or .458 SOCOM.
-
Thanks man, and after I said I wasn't getting into a new caliber. Truth be told 6.8Spc would probably be better suited, but I want options to be subsonic if I choose.
-
Jeff if I was rich I would buy both. I'm certainly intrigued by the .458. Especially since I can have it so quickly, the cost of ammo is the tough part. There are actually a lot of bullet options available, just the heavy grains are pretty steep in price. I just can't get past the hard hitting round. I actually do realize the 300 is more practice for my uses, but I'm like a little kid, I like impractical things.

Ok so I've found a .458 upper with a relatively short wait, (normally 90+ days) for a good price. My question is, what would y'all buy. I love the big bore .458, i can reload both calibers, but Brass for .458 is pricey, about $0.80 per. So assuming I can get 10 loads out of the brass I can load jacketed bullets for about $1.50. I'm sure .300BLK would be cheaper on all cases, just wondering how useful of a hunting round it can be. Everything needed is under 200yds so that's really no issue. I know everyone will say just buy a .308, but I don't wanna . I like the heavy bullet options of the .458, but I like the value of .300 BLK as well as suppressor performance(future option). So I guess my main question is about .300 ballistics. Good Hog killers or .458 better? White tail? All I'm buying is the upper, using current lower. Just looking for thoughts from the local "family", as I've read all the other discussions on other forums.

I think you might have told me before, but where do you work? -

I hope this is not a stupid question.....

I'm not sure about the sonic cleaner buy you can use hydrogen peroxide in the can, BUT THE RESULT IS LEAD ACETATE WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS!!!!! I would just buy a user serviceable can if your gonna shoot 22lr -
Unfortunately I've had the same experience on our own beloved forum, just this year. Both instances I made and offer, which was accepted, only to be told shortly that the item had been sold. I don't think your wrong at all. If you stake claim and offer to pay the price, it should be yours. I never bothered posting feedback the second time it happened. It's not worth the time really.

In like the revolving door of facial hair. It's a goatee most of the time, but come winter a full beard will show up, but it stays trimmed. I haven't really gone 'wooly' since college.

I'd say we'd need a fair share of morgues, as well. Remember we are Americans not Europeans. Most won't go down without a fight.
-
Definitely not, just don't have a lot of spare time right now. I just like to see things in person sometimes. Unless I just find a screaming deal, I'll probably build one.
-
I stopped by the Outpost Armory yesterday. They were perfectly nice, and did have plenty of options to fondle. I was not overwhelmed by their prices but it was good to see guns in person I'd only seen online. I'm gonna try to stop at Franklin on my way back across the state.

Using certain powder will make a difference. Modern powder is mixed with a flash suppressant that will not light the magnesium on the bullet. This is straight from the horses mouth (David)...hopefully he will chime in and clarify if I have messed up any info.

Who got checked this weekend?
Lumber_Jack replied to Spiffy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Agreed. If a frisking is required to see a movie...I'll pass. Save a lot of money that way anyhow. -
If it were me, I'd buy these from Chota http://littleriveroutfitters.com/store/product.php?productid=18529&cat=1354&page=1 They are a Knoxville based company with a no-nonsense warranty against defects. The link above is to a fly shop in Townsend Tn in the foothills of the Smokies. They have free shipping all the time. The above linked pair is $169, they also have a pair for $229 which have reinforced legs for extra durability but if you're not doing a lot of kneeling or climbing over rocks, probably not necessary. For your daughter, I would look at the Redington brand at Sportsman's, or the Caddis brand from there. If she is small enough might even fit in youth size which would get you under $90. I would steer clear of Bass Pro Red Head or White River Brands, they have been known to leak right away. And there is nothing worse than leaky waders.

not to be too personal, but what is your price range? I will help you locate what I think are the best value.

Theaters in Knoxville that are not posted?
Lumber_Jack replied to Paladin132's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
This is correct. Its not PROPERLY posted. A tiny sign in one location doesn't suffice. it needs to be on all entrances. Same goes for West Town mall. This doesn't mean they cant ask you to leave, just like the story Wewo posted above. If you don't leave, then its Trespassing. Moral of the story is, Conceal, and do it well, and you wont have any issues -
Reports are saying the 'Poachers" are literally ringing phones off the hook! I totally agree. If SMU was worthy of the death penalty for paying players, and then lying about it after the second offense. This should have warranted such a penalty if my opinion. Time will tell how much this will hurt the football program. The sad thing is the football program revenue supports all the other non-revenue sports. So the entire athletic dept at Penn State will suffer.

My advice, if you buy breathable waders , buy name brand. It's worth the money Simms Patagonia Chota Orvis I personally have a pair of Simms Freestones. Which I believe can me bought for under $200. Neoprene are good for winter but can be exhaustingly hot in summer, especially in the South. I also prefer stocking foot waders and separate wading boots. They just fit better and make wading much more stable. Others opinion may vary.
