  1. All those house they've been through in all those towns, not one reloading press or bullet mold?
  2. I got in an argument with Steve Crabtree the former station manager at WATE in Knoxville because he thought she was right and justified. He says they had 48-72 hours notice and should have evacuated earlier. It really makes me mad when these reporters come in after the fact and "criticize through questions" how catastrophes are handled. You think if we knew the town was gonna burn down they wouldn't have evacuated earlier. I think they deserve a commendation for saving so many. If this happened at 2-3am there would have been massive loss of life
  3. I think it's typically the best value on the shelf. It's one of the "always have" bottles for me. It's really good. I think it was $39 at Red Dog. Well worth it
  4. Yes I like it a lot. I actually picked that bottle up at a silent auction that no one was bidding on
  5. Restocking some cabinet staples.
  6. Oh now, you could pour it in some fancy decanter and tell them is was distilled in some backwoods craft distillery. They'd trip over their beards and flannel to get more.
  7. Yes it is amazing that we have zero fatalities at this point. There were wind gusts of 87mph reported last night. Those can blow embers over a mile. Peoples neighborhoods were on fire before they knew there was danger.
  8. Park Vista was partially burned from the reports we heard this morning, I'm assuming the part that extends west towards the trees. The Driftwood Apartments at the base of Park Vista were reportedly destroyed.
  9. We got reports yesterday the the Chimney Tops fire in the GSMNP was growing into a Monster. We staged crews around the Mynatt Park area and put dozer lines in to help. The problem was there were already spot fires just south of Gatlinburg that we could not see or assess because the wind was smoking in the whole valley. Crews did the best the could be around 6pm the winds started spiking and the fires became erratic and fast moving. This wasn't one huge wave but sparks flying starting many fires, some that grew together and made big fronts. Trees were downing power lines and starting new fires. This was an event unlike any others we've seen in the state. Today will reveal a lot about what actually happened last night. Lots of false reports but there is no doubt that a lot of people lost homes
  10. yeah the last one I got from the back, but I haven't found a shop here in Nashville that I like enough to get to the friendly level of asking for special favors.
  11. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow TGO spirit connoisseurs
  12. dangit I'm waiting patiently to find my next bottle but its been a long while. Where did you find it?
  13. That Missouri buck was not killed, it died of old age. The Lovstuen buck was 322 green and final score was 307+. This deer scored 308+ green. By the time it dries it will be under 300 I bet.
  14. well, that sucks about your job. No there really isn't much room for volunteers as they need everyone to be certified by the feds. Basically, means you pass a physical fitness test and are safety trained. http://burnsafetn.org/ is the place for daily fire updates. At this point, none of the fires are being extinguished completely. So, the map is just growing not shrinking.
  15. 70% of all the acres that have burned since Oct 1st in Tennessee have been deemed arson, it's sickening.
  16. We are in crisis mode. Lots of acres burning, no chance of rain. We have been coordinating helicopter bucket drops from the National Guard and air tanker drops from the Forest Service. We have ordered 3 -20person federal hand crews and an additional Incident Management team just for the Southern Plateau region. If it doesn't rain soon I'll be spending the month in a hotel in Kimball
  17. Amazing game
  18. I guess Maddon doesn't trust his bullpen anymore than a gassed Chapman?
  19. Chapman is smoked. Lester should have finished the inning he still looked good. Russell should have had that ball at short.
  20. Old man river just went yard. Cubs lookin like they want to finish this game.
  21. Middle relief will tell the story. Miller has been unhittable in most outings. Looks like the Cubs are going with Lester whose a starter. The next 3 innings will be interesting Edit: typed Lackey meant Lester
  22. No I just didn't get the notification until late. 3-1 Cubs lookin like the run producers they were in the regular season. Lots of baseball left.
  23. Yeah the cubbies were in a jam there for sure. I'd rather see a game of combo runs, pitching, and good defense anyway
  24. Well so much for a one run game
  25. For sure. Off a guy that has been lights out in his last 2 starts. Now it'd be something if that's the only run
