  1. I'm sure he'll sell them. He's not a profiteer, just a good supplier to the gun community.
  2. I'd say your right. And rightfully so. California will be the first state to confiscate guns. They will be the test group. And I think they are underestimating their rural population. That state like most, is ruled by liberal majority in big cities.
  3. There were so many options or TWRA to stop the hog hunting lodges without stopping 80% of hog hunting in tn. They jumped to a quick action without co soldering the reprecutions. The hog problem is never going away, call Texas and ask them. As for the two idiots in Florida. The Everglades is a dangerous place. They are lucky, could have easily died out there.
  4. It will get back to normal. The resevoirs are always drawn down in winter to prevent upstream flooding from winter and spring storms when trees and foiliage is down and runoff is at its highest. Then we were plagued with 2 major rain events back to back. They have just been letting it loose to get the lake back down. They generally don't generate at night especially in the winter because it causes fog and ice over the interstate bridges, but they have been going 24/7 for a few weeks now.
  5. sorry the pics are so big
  6. Best place to start is basic tailwater nymphs Zebra Midge size 18-22, any color, I've had good success with OD Green and black Scuds Bead Head Pheasant Tail If fish are coming to the top but not rising all the way out of the water, an emerger patern is good to use. This means the fish are feading just below the surface. A good tactic is to tie on and emerger, then drop a midge about 10" below that. sometimes the fish will turn down the emerger and strike the dropper fly. There are other options besides Blue Wing Olive, but this is the most likely hatch on the Caney in the winter Blue Wing Olive Emerger Its also good to have a blue wing olive dry fly for winter hatches. BWO There are certainly other options and you'll end up with a ton of different flies, but this is a good start. The most sucessful fishermen have a plethora of options and change often to match what the fish are eating. if you have the flies listed here, your bound to find what the fish are eating. Tailwaters churn up insects and push them down stream consistantly, that's why midges and scuds are a good start. They are always present in the food column
  7. Good enough for me. Hope your time off served you well. Take care man.
  8. Well I'm no physicist, but I'd say the problem was the polymer upper. The explosion starts in the barrel extension but pressure is still very high while the bolt unlocks. And I can't see the horizontal movement of the buffer and bolt causing enough stress to fracture the buffer mount. Not saying it can't happen or didn't in this case, but I don't see a series of problems. Google " polymer lower failure" and you get shockingly few results, and those that do show up are broken takedown pins. My biggest fear would be dropping the thing or too much sideways pressure breaking the stock and buffer mount.
  9. Wait, was the upper polymer too? I didn't think such a thing existed. Or did the upper fail, causing the lower to fracture? If the upper failed there was a bigger problem to begin with. I'm not defending the polymer lower, just trying to clarify the problem.
  10. Now you're talking. My EDC is a Gen 3 G29, I'd love to shoot the Gen 4 to see the difference.
  11. Apparently there was a flaw that put a few people ahead of others Email from Brownells: Dear Folks, We want to thank everyone for your patience with us. Thanks especially to those of you who told us orders were being delivered "out of cycle." We’ve been in business an awfully long time and are proud of our reputation for great service, so we had to find out what was going on. And we found the problem. Simple really. About 15 years ago we put in place system logic prioritizing a few back orders ahead of others. It was a rare situation, but necessary at the time and under normal market conditions back then, those reasons made sense. Then the world changed, and back orders ballooned into the thousands – literally – and our system and the vendor’s ability to keep up just broke that logic. About 300 orders were moved to the head of the line under the old system logic, and had their orders shipped ahead of where they should have been in line. It moved all the rest of you back about 300 places in line – which, rightfully so, caused an uproar. When we found the problem, we immediately disabled this logic, truly resuming our first in first out policy. The real problem is that demand is far greater than any factory’s ability to quickly catch up. The good news is we have cured the broken system logic; thanks for telling us. We are shipping in order received, and handling your orders the way we have always tried to – honestly, fairly, and with everything right on top of the table. Best, Frank & Pete Brownell
  12. Nice, yeah you gotta get some full power in that thing. That factory week stuff is barely more than .40. Good score, love my 10mm
  13. We're gonna meet up down there before spring is over, one way or another.
  14. They are, you need to contact them with FFL you want. You can send and email with your order number, but I would try to call. They aren't the sharpest bunch so be patient, they'll get it to you
  15. Also Whittakers Guns in Owensboro has lowers in stock, about $169 - $189 depending on finish. Problem is getting them on the phone. Only one line. So of you got nothing to do all day but hit redial you can probably get one.
  16. There is no stress on the lower. How would it fail? Edit: Seems most failures have been with plum crazy lowers and their plastics take down pins shearing in half. No way I would use plastic pins
  17.   I totally missed your post above.  That answers the question.  I guess I never thought the P380 had all that "special" machining and such since its a pocket .380 and you'd be lucky to hit a barn door beyond 10 feet.
  18. someone enlighten me on the differences between this and the P380, I dont really want to google it  :taunt:
  19. Come on, you can do it!!!   :taunt:
  20. David has said many times before, that the site is designed for PCs not mobile phones. Too many variations of systems. This maybe just be a hurdle we have to deal with. I know videos didn't work on Tapatalk for a while, but I could always still get them to play on the safari site. Time will tell I suppose
  21. Caney fork is much closer than either of those. There is tons of wade-able water there. Best place to start is at the dam, then walk downstream on trail to a set of wooden steps, leads you right into the river. Also look into Elk River. Go talk to the guys at Fly South off Broadway, you'll have to google the actual address. Or Cumberland transit, those guys wade fish middle tn.
  22. Just say when. I don't know about teaching much but I can show you how NOT to do a lot of stuff. Generation schedules aren't posted until 5pm the day before, so plan, but be ready to alter if they are blowing it out.
  23. Still gone on iPhone
  24. How will tracers burn up the barrel? They don't ignite until outside of the muzzle? I'm I missing something? They will start fires, that's a fact!
  25. "You waitin on Boyd? You gotta saw? You're gonna need a saw."
