  1. So I know about the barrel stamps corresponding to months and years, BLACKPOWDERX being the months and second letter being the year. But my barrel is stamped RPQ. I can't seem to figure why there are three letters, and is the P or Q the year. The difference is 1968 vs 1978
  2. I sure didn't see anyone fighting over it. I saw lots of overpriced ammo and stripped lowers, most people just glanced and walked on.
  3. I almost laughed out loud when I saw that. I even saw the guy confidently refuse to consider lower offers
  4. Yeah there are a few available uppers. David doesn't have a shop but can often meet in Nashville or on his way to a show. Just send him a message
  5. Yeah stuff was high. There was a ton more ARs than even last week. Lots of $30 Pmags, as many as you could want. Lots of $0.60, $0.70 and $1.00 per round 5.56 ammo. Hardly any new shotguns, with turkey season approaching I found that odd. No reloading supplies worth going for, as David isn't there. I enjoyed browsing but still find the prices laughable. I saw some $600 stripped lowers still, apparently some people haven't it the memo
  6. Done Great info. Thanks for chiming in. I guess the best way to learn and have real bodies to practice with is to find a class and participate.
  7. Yeah he isn't right, especially with his family. The cold exchange with his wife in the lingerie, shows he's pretty not interested in her. He played it off as too much work, but there is a deeper issue. Hope that gets developed in later episodes.
  8. They replay last weeks episode after the new Justified on Tuesdays. I just try to stay up and watch them back to back
  9. You can see Stan's discomfort in Nina's tactics with the Ambassador, he's showing too much compassion. On the same note, when Elizabeth shot the Russain contact, there was a long pause as of she were pondering her actions.
  10. Completely agree. I enjoy the show. They have me viewing the FBI counter intelligence as the "bad guys". And nervous that the commies might get caught. Haha, good writing.
  11. I agree definitely not interested in bar fights, especially since I don't go to bars often. But I've found myself caught up in escalated situations that I had nothing to do with. Especially at sporting events, where alcohol has everyone feeing like the hulk and ready to fight. I'm often amazed at how brazen and quick to fight people are. My mother-in-law is bad for telling people they need to stop using foul language and such, which never goes well. There has almost been a situation at least twice. I try to tell her to let it go and be quite but she doesn't understand the true implications of escalating drunk dudes to fight mode. I view knife or club defense in the same light. If you can't reach or don't have a gun, can you survive? My main concern is evading an attacker without using a weapon. I've learned just enough to know I don't know what I'm doing.
  12. We all carry guns in an effort to avoid hand to hand confrontations, but in the real world things happen and you very well might be in a physical altercation either before you can draw your weapon or be separated from your weapon.   Im not interested in being the baddest man on the block or starting fist fights in the Walmart parking lot, but I also dont want to ignore an aspect of training that might save my or someone else's life someday.     In todays MMA/UFC world there are tons of people out there that know at least a few moves, that can get you hurt if you dont know a good defense to them.  A former roomate in college was big into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and he would tell me all the time "never underestimate the guy on the street, you dont know what he knows or doesn't know."     So, how many of you think about hand to hand defense, and do you actually seek instruction in this area?  Are there any good resources out there that could be of use on this topic.  I could easily go to one of the martial arts centers here in Knoxville  but just thought we could discuss it here some.
  13. Well I'm glad it was helpful. It was debatable whether or not the video would actually help, but it was easy and worth a shot. I don't see a future in video posting
  14. $249 +21.50 shipping comes out to $0.54 per round. Quite the deal.
  15. No way to verify that. All these companies are big nationwide. There are millions of people just like you, so when 200 bricks show up it lasts merely seconds. Sure some are hoarding and some are reselling but you have believe there are a large number just like yourself that have been caught without any ammo.
  16. Bamboo is a non-native invasive species in all forms and strains. To say its not your problem when you move is the midset that has us in the spot we are with invasives. It's all our job to help control this. I wouldn't plant kudzu or alanthis, or multi floral rose or japanese privet, and I wouldn't plant bamboo.
  17. Pretty sure he won't be there. I sent him a message to confirm. I'll update when I hear from him.
  18. Not as expensive as I remember. It's a good call not matter what your experience level.
  19. I have one of those. It's a pretty good call. I think it's a little pricier than others but worth it if your struggling to get the right sound.
  20. Here's a couple videos I shot on my phone. Not the best but maybe it will help http://youtu.be/WbdGLUlAl8U http://youtu.be/IgkOXFLprok
  21. Keep trying you'll get it. Put the mouth call in right against the roof where your upper palate goes from shallow to deep. Apply pressure with your tongue, pretty firm. Don't breathe from deep in your lungs rather use short throng bursts of air from inside your mouth. Build pressure in your lungs with a good breath but hold it back and force it over your tongue.
  22. Good observations. Seems the previews elude to is finding out who the real Drew Thompson is next week.
  23. I just need more time. My ammo says "some assembly required"
  24. I have shot it, it's fine, just dirty. No big deal but cleaning takes longer. The price is way too high for me. Especially since .45 seems to be popping up, where other calibers like 9mm have not. $15 for 50, I'd consider it
  25. That was my concern. I have never night from them
