  1. Haha, same here. I've been looking weekly. Thanks for the update. I'll ease off for a few months
  2. I've never been the "Camo in public" kind of guy unless it's too and from hunting. But I'm not against it. I'm with Mike though. Solid on one end, pattern on the other.
  3. I haven't hear any gobbling this week, but I've seen signs. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
  4. 842 is hotter. You should drop 10-20% below CFE223.
  5. This is true, I missed that.
  6. That's what I'm gonna do. Back down to 24.5 or so and make some batches up to 25.5 or 26. Them do a series test. I was in a rush this morning, and just wanted to see if my loads would fire and feed.
  7. Is flattening a problem or just the first signs of over load? I have 2000 of these so like the powder and bullets, this will e what I'm using for a while.
  8. I'm using Winchester. I assumed they were all pretty equal
  9. No offense taken Greg. I'm not that much if an experienced shooter. So I don't think I could do much better with irons. Red dots aren't magnified or are low magnification. Generally designed for close shooting and quick acquisition. I have a 4x scope I'll use next time out
  10. Yeah I'm pretty happy with it, 6 shots out if 10 were touching on the second round. I will try to improve it anyway I can though. Which means maybe going down some. I will try the red dot again with a good bench rest when I can get one, or at least double sand bags. I would think If one expects better accuracy with irons, I should get better with the red dot.
  11. I had thought about trying that. This surplus powder varies between batches so I'm not sure where max is, but I could try going down some. Might have started on the high side of center. Load Data varies on this stiff
  12. Mainly the flattened primers, and reasonableness of accuracy using a red dot.
  13. I had a comment about the accuracy. You have to realize with a 2x red dot, some of that is me. I was just shooting off if a front sand bag. If I'm gonna really test the accuracy, I'll need some magnification and a good bench rest.
  14. So I fired 20 rounds, these are my first rifle loads of any kind. .223 55grain pulled FMJ 25grains WC842 COAL 2.25" Gun- Rock River 16" barrel Vortex Strikefire red dot with 2x magnifier Center bullseye at 50yd Blue tape bullseye @ 50 yd I noticed a few primers were flat. Not all, maybe 7 of 20. They are no signs of big primer flows it craters, just flattened. Should I back off the load a little?
  15. They have a license, or have a pyrotechnics guy that has a license that sets up te explosions. Just like Sons of guns and those other shows where they blow up big stuff. On-air TV shows have all the legalities covered the networks make sure of that. YouTube has no such securities. If you blow things up on video especially on a large scale, expect a door knock.
  16. Well I know it's probably discouraging and frustrating to put so much work into something and ruin it, but that was a good looking blade. Live and learn. The next one will be awesome.
  17. I'm all for freedom and generally disgusted with the ATF, but this guy definitely raises some eyebrows. His partner was murdered not long ago, and now he's being investigated for illegal explosives. Seems like some things just aren't worth internet fame.
  18. So blowing up things on YouTube might not be in your best interest
  19. http://www.onlineathens.com/local-news/2013-03-27/atf-agents-lead-search-explosives-carnesville-home
  20. Yeah the previews for next week are what looked best. Theo is goin after Ralyns woman and baby. I thought it was a good setup episode. I'm surprised at the "heart" Linehouse ha seemed to found. Seems Colt's days were numbered for the last few weeks.
  21. Oh shit just got real.
  22. I saw a video of a guy kill a hog with the Gamo hunter version. That's all the marketing I need :)
  23. It's ok, I think he'll live
  24. Definitely. The last 110gr Hornady sold online as .300BLK was actually .300 whisper on the box.
  25. yeah let us know your results, and how difficult it is.  I might try it too one of these days.
