  1. Ive spent $100 on worse. I really love the 15 year. Thanks to @Mike.357 I paid that for the whole bottle. That was over 4 years ago. Even harder to find now
  2. As good as any. I bought a bottle of Old Grand Dad bottled-in-bond. 100 proof pokes through the slurry.
  3. Anybody get anything good during the bourbon "hunting" season?
  4. I saw a news story on this last night. The cops apparently gave several orders for the Security guard to drop the weapon. He did not. Now maybe he feared if dropping the weapon would actually endanger his life from the guy on the ground, I don't know. But I know this. If you are armed and holding someone at gunpoint, you better have a plan to lay that gun down when the cops show up or you could easily suffer the fate of this gentleman. There were witnesses who felt the cops reactions were way too severe and premature. I hate to put blame on the officer without knowing more details but to me, it seems that's where it belongs right now.
  5. best thing to do is rip the seal off and get that temptation out of your mind. I'm of the mindset that unless you need the money, the bourbon (or rye in this case) is better than money
  6. Let me know when you open it, if your willing I'd be down to trade samples. I have a couple of things that would be equal value. I don't spend enough on the regular to get these bottles usually. Just a thought great pickup
  7. Did I miss a post about this? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxbusiness.com/features/veteran-owned-black-rifle-coffee-company-to-invest-6m-in-tennessee-expansion.amp
  8. semantics (mine are boots)
  9. Lucchese makes a great pair of slip-on shoes, I wear them daily. Might be a bit more than $70 though
  10. meh, I just like poking at those that "hate" big cities. Nashville has its flaws, of that there is no doubt. I do like it though, although admittedly doubt we'll stay here long term.
  11. I love Nashville, it's a great city. Yall are just curmudgeons. Seriously I wouldn't build anything in Antioch or along the I-24 corridor, I think that would be a tactical mistake regardless of the business.
  12. Not tonight but I had this a few days ago when at hotel for work trip. It’s really nice. I’m shocked at how much I liked this as I’ve never really ventured into scotch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I would describe it exactly like that, perfect middle ground on bourbon and scotch. Bourbon up front, scotch on the back
  14. Tonight’s dram. It’s a cask strength Japanese blended whiskey. Even though the name implies it’s a single barrel it is not. It’s blended in wood casks and hence bottled from the mixing barrel not the aging barrel. But as it’s cask strength it’s got lots of punch and complex flavor. I enjoyed it a lot. Sweat on the nose. Mellowed our with a few drops of water helped tame the alcohol and open the vanilla and fruit on the palate. This is not sold in the US I bought it locally from a guy that picked it up in Canada. I think US limits sales to specific volumes an 500cl isn’t one of the options. Regardless if you can get some I’d recommend.
  15. He’s the man. Same place I got that PVW 15. Which I’ve had opened since 2014. Hence why I say open it now and enjoy it slowly
  16. And next question where did they find it?
  17. That’s awesome. I say open it now and toast the gift. It’ll last for many special occasions if you chose to do so.
  18. So whats the whiskey in the jars? Do you chose or are they sent at random?
  19. I wish I could find that bottle at retail again, alas odds are stacked against me
  20. First dram since this little guy came into the world. Celebratory pour for sure! I’ve been saving the last 1/4 of this bottle for something special, even before we knew we were having a baby. Nothing more fitting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Haha, obviously. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Great lineup there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Oh no worries. Most babies I can’t tell unless they have gender specific clothing. Yeah I have plans to pick up a cricket or similar (or get one of the grandparents to do it) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. “Him” no offense taken the unisex hat makes it hard to tell. I’m going to buy a youth .22 just for special commemoration. I have a youth .410 and 20gauge I used as a small lad to kill squirrels that will go to him some day too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
