I've had a 10mm fetish for a little while now. I finally decided on the Glock 20. I picked the full size over the G29 for a few reasons: 1)I wanted to shoot the heavier 10mm loads and the large frame should be better for recoil 2)I'm not going to carry it 3)I like the higher capacity magazines (15+1).
I bought mine at Craig's Firearms in Knoxville and was out the door for right at $500 (military pricing, includes 3 magazines). I ordered some 165gr FN reloads from Georgia Arms and had them in about three days. I also picked up some Hornady 180gr XTPs and ordered another 500 rounds of 180gr JHP "Canned Heat" from Georgia Arms that is currently backordered.
On Wednesday I had the afternoon free so I went up to ORSA. Got there around 2pm and had the whole plinking range to myself. I put up a target stand and threw out some golf balls, tennis balls, and an old plastic coffee can. I ran 50 rounds of the GA reloads through it and had zero issues. I would have liked to shoot more but I was only able to get 200 rounds and I didn't want to burn through all of it in one session. I shot off-hand and intentionally limp wristed it and couldn't make it have a problem. The recoil is snappy but manageable. By the end of it I was able to walk the coffee can from 7 yards out to about 20.
I think I'm going to add a Streamlight TLR-1 and make this my bedside gun after I've run a few more rounds through it. Think I may try some Double Tap and some Buffalo Bore, but I don't expect any problems with either.
As for the obligatory pictures, I don't have any. Sorry. I promise you though, it looks just like a Glock.
