  1. Sweet little knife and nice job with the wrap! The venom greens should be out in a few weeks. I'm looking forward to them myself. Congrats on the Izula.
  2. At that price I'd assume you mean the Ontario RAT 5 and not the ESEE. Just my opinion, I'd take the BK2 over the Ontario any day of the week.
  3. They're similar to VZ Aliens. Very grippy but not so much that you need gloves with them.
  4. Jens Anso is a custom knifemaker from Denmark. His knives are next to impossible to get but I was able to contact him and get a couple of sets of his custom G-10 1911 grips. These have a great grip and are incredibly comfortable.
  5. When I was in Phoenix a couple of months back I bought a new set of frag scales for my ZT 0550. I put them on when I got home and liked them so much that I ordered a set for my XM-18 to make it match my XM-24. I also ordered blue titanium standoffs for the 18 and the 24. The before shot Pieces and parts Back together The standoffs (no, I'm not a Florida Gators fan) Group shot with the ZT 0550 (again, not a Florida fan )
  6. Me too. Carrying on with my good fight, MK
  7. A little bit above your stated budget but it sounds like a Becker BK2 would be perfect for you. 1095 steel, full tang with a kydex sheath. 10.5" overall length and built like a tank. You can get one for about $60 delivered from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Ka-Bar-Becker-BK2-Campanion-Fixed/dp/B001N1DPDE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331729743&sr=8-1
  8. Try Palmetto State Armory. Their prices and quality seem to be pretty good.
  9. Glock 20 with Double Tap Equalizers loaded in it.
  10. Manas is cold. I spent a winter there in 08. I'd still take it over Qatar any day:)
  11. Caster, Let me try to understand your logic chain. A horrible event happens where 16 Afghanis are killed. A US soldier turns him in. Your response based on no other information is: You would take an American soldier who was serving his fourth combat tour (I'm not sure, you may have served five) and judge him on nothing more than a news article. You don't know if there is PTSD, a physical brain injury, or any other stressor that caused this NCO to snap. You would be satisfied if he were handed over to Afghans, hung from a tree then skinned and burned alive (in the name of better relations with the Afghanis). Yes, it definitely sounds like you care very much for our troops. Also, I did a quick but not exhaustive search and I was unable to find anywhere that you advocated for the Afghanis that killed US soldiers over the last couple of weeks due to the accidental koran burning to be turned over to the US and tortured to death for their crimes.
  12. Do you really believe the crap coming out of your keyboard? If you didn't have so many posts here I would assume you were a troll just trying to stir up trouble.
  13. Nope, not CDNN. I picked mine up from Bud's Police Supply. I think I'm gonna run mine on iron sights for a little while until I decide what optics to put on it. right now I'm leaning towards the Eotech 552 w/ the .308 ballistic reticle.
  14. I'm sorry I stuck my nose in this one. I'm out. Good luck with Afghan relations. Appeasement has certainly been a good strategy to this point.
  15. Caster, I don't know all of the details of this story any more than you do. I know it's tragic that innocent civilians were killed. I know that the killer needs to pay for the crime. I also know that PTSD and other factors can make people act in ways that a normal, sane person wouldn't. I've given well over a year of my life to the third-world craphole that is Afghanistan. I've buried more than one friend as a result of it. I'd prefer not to lose any more American lives at the hands of the Afghanis, especially someone who might be suffering from a stress-induced mental break. Let's at least let our sham of a justice system play out before we convict this soldier of being a mass murderer and sentence him.
  16. My bad, had no idea you were there and knew about any/all mitigating circumstances. Judge, jury, executioner. Sweet.
  17. Maybe it will be a revolver with a nice blued-finish and no ugly-ass hole in the side.
  18. Turn a US soldier over to the Afghans for justice? Are you serious? I'm not even sure how to respond to that.
  19. Yet another nice thing about the ZT 0350 is that it's a four position carry- left or right handed, tip up or tip down.
  20. If Erik's coming, I'll be there!
  21. Nothing yet. I should have my SOCOM in hand in the next couple of days. I think I'm going to shoot it with iron sights to get used to it then put optics on it in a little further down the road.
  22. Zero Tolerance 0350. It's the best $100 you can spend on a folding blade.
  23. I've got a couple of sets of them and have been really happy with them.
  24. In my opinion, the RMD is just about a perfect hiking/camping/carry knife for everything except heavy chopping/brush clearing. I got one of the satin LE's they just released and it's absolutely fantastic. I've heard the HRLMs are nice but I've never had the chance to handle one.
