  1. Just because that doesn't apply to you doesn't mean it doesn't apply to anyone else.
  2. I love my Sebenza, but in all honesty I like my Startac Umnumzaan better. For the same cost, to me it has a better feel and a smoother opening.
  3. Those Beckers are nice and I love that Hinderer. Great family pic!
  4. I carry a Startac Umnumzaan most days now but also give pocket-time to a ZT 0350, a ZT 0560 and a Spyderco Endura. I think the "best" is what feels most comfortable to you.
  5. One more reason I have no urge to visit or spend one dime in the state of New York.
  6. The Glock god is a false tupperware deity. Kneel at the altar of Browning. (Nice score)
  7. There is definitely no shortage of douchebags on the KNS comment boards. I don't even look at it anymore because it pisses me off how ignorant and insensitive people can be when they're hidden behind a keyboard.
  8. Here are a couple of my acquisitions from Blade. A black on black handshaped G-10 Flat Fat Fusion Battle Mistress from Busse (full flat grind, .32 thick), a BanTang BT6 (probably the sharpest knife I have ever owned), and a 3.5" Hinderer XM-18 (raffle ticket actually won by my wife).
  9. Awesome Chris, congrats. I picked the production Hinderer too. I like the customs but I'd never be able to bring myself to use one of them. That Fletcher is sweet too. We walked by his table a couple of times and admired his work. So many great knifemakers there, it's really hard to choose who/what to buy.
  10. I should have probably clarified better. My wife won in the lottery. She just let me pay for it. She was a lucky charm all weekend. We won two free knives from Busse, won a $100 shop credit with Busse, got two discount coupons on future releases, and then hit the Hinderer lottery. I should have bought a Powerball ticket on Saturday. My luck ran out today however. Leaving Atlanta I hit a traffic jam that took about 20 minutes to get past. No big deal. Got through that, cruised on for about an hour then had a blowout on the interstate. Tire changed back on the road. Got home and turned on the gas grill to cook some brats and my tank ran out of fuel (luckily I had a spare). I think I'm just going to bed:) All in all it was a fantastic weekend. Hung out with some great buddies, talked knives, bought knives, watched demos, ate lots of meat and drank lots of beer. Can't wait for next year...
  11. Eric, I won a Hinderer in yesterday's lottery. The show is great. You should drive down for Sunday.
  12. Hitting the road shortly. Hope to see some folks there.
  13. I put a SWFA Super Sniper 10x42 with Badger Ordnance rings on mine. Works well enough.
  14. I won't know til the show starts on Friday but I'll let you know afterwards... Man, how far offshore are you????
  15. I'm torn by this one. On the one hand I laughed. On the other hand I thought how lucky this dumb-ass was that he didn't get shot. Timing is everything.
  16. I do love the Ed Browns. Beautiful, man! Congrats!
  17. Just a few days to go... My bank account is getting nervous just thinking about it...
  18. As a closure to this thread, I ended up working my trust through Chip Cain and was extremely happy with his services. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in a NFA trust.
  19. I shot some through a heavy barrel bolt-action CZ 452 and it truly sounded like an air rifle. Can't wait to get a can attached to it and see how quiet it gets.
  20. If you happen to be military it's even cheaper today on their website. $36.48 for a fully assembled one. I don't think I can pass that up.
  21. I know a little bit about these. Scrapyard is part of the Busse Knife Family, and is owned by Dan Busse. I have several blades in SR101 and they have handled fantastically. They are also covered by a lifetime warranty. Any pics of the new acquistion?
  22. The Blade Show is only a couple of weeks away. Who's planning on making the short drive from Knoxville? Mrs Kong and I will be there all weekend. If you have an interest in knives and haven't ever been it's definitely worth the trip to Atlanta, even if you just go for one day. Hope to see some folks there. First round or three is on me.
  23. I ended up going with Mike at Law Enforcement Sales TN up in Oak Ridge. I talked with him on the phone a couple of times and via email and he had the best price I could find on it.
  24. SilencerCo Sparrow ordered today (the stainless one)!
  25. Yep, Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 are the standards, each with 100 variations. I've got a Remington and it does everything I've asked of it.
