Yep, exactly. They get a little ornery when you first start shooting in their labs but they quickly get accustomed to the noise Oak Ridge Sportsmans Association.

They have 100 yd target stands at the benchrest range. Should be perfect for what you want to do. I try to go during the week when I can, it can get pretty busy on the weekend sometimes.

The AR-10 was a little cheaper but the 716 came equipped with a couple of things I would have had to add to the AR-10. I also trust the name (nothing against Armalite). I've had three or four Sig rifles/pistols and have never had an issue with any of them. Still trying to figure out what I want for optics.

Real close to your budget, I just recently picked up a Sig 716. Fantastic shooter right out of the box with iron sights. I imagine it will be awesome when I put some optics on it.

I went a little bit larger. I got the Kodiak Gearslinger about six months ago and absolutely love it. I may have mentioned it in the other thread , but I think their customer service is absolute garbage. Prices are good but service rules (in my opinion at least).

I don't have a lot of experience with the Tops but I've owned a half dozen ESEEs. They make a very good knife that will last you a lifetime if you take reasonable care of it.
