1. I can't disagree with you. There are definitely worse options right now.
2. I placed an order today that I may not have placed immediately. I didn't hoard anything but I did order a couple of magazines that had been on my radar for a few months. Part of it was to take advantage of a free shipping deal and part of it was to get it while I know I can.
3. I spent my lunch hour at Bill's Outpost with three friends from work. I think it's all a matter of where you work...
4. Very cool. What is the thickness on them?
5. I've got a Bushmaster 308 and my PMags work just fine in it.
6. Come on Mac, you can't expect me to read "everything" can you??:)
7. Short answers to your questions: no, kind of, no. The FNAR is based on the Browning BAR platform. It is nothing like an AR.   The good: It is sub MOA accurate and is a joy to shoot.   The bad: Magazines are expensive and you have to put a scope on it. It is not a light rifle (10-ish pounds with a loaded magazine and scope).   http://www.fnhusa.com/l/products/commercial/autoloading-rifles/fnar-standard/
8. Awesome Joe, congrats! When can I order one??
9. Maybe they could pull Candy Crowley away from the trough and have her moderate it...
10. The mainstream media has a distinct leftist agenda and this is the perfect storm for pushing it. Never let a tragedy go to waste...
11. Very cool, I'm sure your son will appreciate it.
12. Does Jeff build in calibers other than 45? I've been aching for a 1911 chambered in 9mm.
13. This scenario is somewhat similar to the premise set in Matthew Bracken's book "Enemies Foreign and Domestic".
14. I think that Mossberg would be cooler if it was a little more tactical.
15.
Congratulations twpayne75! I have a question, what is Nitron? I thought that was just a name for a Sig model!
Nitron is the name Sig uses for their finish.
16.
I'll be waiting. You shouldn't say stupid stuff to incite stupid people.
Am I saying stupid stuff or are you stupid people in this scenario? Or are we still talking about Ted Nugent?
17.
Can't wait to see if he is a man of his word.
I'm sure you'll be looking forward to it either way.
18. You might try this place if you happen to know what size you need: http://usaknifemaker.com/
19.
There are several makes of ammo on the market that duplicate this performance in 9mm. Federal HST, CorBon DPX, to name a couple. Check out the 9mm ammo tests on YT from Tnoutdoors9. He pretty much covers the whole spectrum.
I'm certainly not doubting that there are equally good rounds on the market. There was nothing scientific about this test. I just thought it would be pretty cool:)
20. I've been shopping with them for several years and they are indeed a great business. They also have a very generous dealer's discount if you happen to have a C&R.
21.
My first thought was why would you shoot such expensive ventage ammo. But now I see you have the modern version. Man that is some nasty looking stuff. Got milk
If the vintage stuff was better than this I would love to see what it could do.
22.
How do these compare to the Hornady Critical Defense 9mm's?
I can't answer that right now. I would like to try some more tests. I have some of the Talon ammo in 45acp that I plan on testing next. It just takes a while to drink all that milk:)
23. I picked up some 9mm Ranger Talon ammo from a friend and wanted to test it out. I filled up four one gallon jugs with water and shot through them from about seven yards. As the video and picture show the first jug absolutely exploded (yes I got wet). The bullet went all the way through the first three jugs and into the fourth. I found the bullet intact in the bottom of the fourth jug. As someone who used to be a 9mm hater I can say that I would hate to be hit with one of these. 24. Trying to post a mp4 video I have uploaded to Photobucket. I'd like to have it embedded rather than a hyperlink to my album. If I try to link like a picture it tells me this format is not supported. Any suggestions?
25.
Thanks Major, I was on the phone the other day with Law Enforcement Sales about threading my 15-22 and a bolt gunRemington 541.The prices are right , have you had them do any work for you or know how they are? He said that he could do both the same day while I did some shopping in Knoxville. Its about 150 miles away, But I am retired so time is on my side I pray.
I don't know anything about Mike's threading work but I've been to his place and spent some time talking with him. Seems like a good guy who knows what he's talking about. Sorry I can't give any more specific help.
