  1. Savage Mark II added the optics and bipod and it's a tack driver. Or catch the 10/22 bug. May as well just buy the action and start from there.
  2. When I was in basic 1966 Ft Riley Ks. 9th Inf Division we had M-14s. We shipped to Vietman Dec. 1966 and were issued M-16s four days prior to leaving Ft Riley Ks. 20 round mags were std. issue.
  3. I would say that is a very fair price for a custom hand made butt stock cover with loops. Thanks for posting that, I have been looking for a nice cover for my Rossi 357
  4. Saiga Arsinal 410 Polish AK47
  5. I added mine, Dunlap
  6. I like the Galco paddle OWB. But also have a Bullard for IWB. Ruger LCR 38 spl.
  7. Sorry Leroy didn't understand where you were coming from. Years ago I shot black powder, I know about the sound and smoke! I still have a TC Hawken 50 cal. in the safe.
  8. No need for BP,I believe the 97 was made for smokeless.
  9. Lets put it this way Ramjo, I have a Mossberg 835 Tactical Turkey and I think I can get off 4 rounds with the 97 before I could get off 3 with the 835. I shot it this afternoon and it is "sweet". Also,no trigger stop on the Winchester, just hold the trigger back and keep racking and it keeps going BANG. I just may have a very nice Mossberg 835 Tactical Turkey for sale. Thank You JMB
  10. Didn't mean to post the pic's like thiis, but this new program is a pain to use. I had no problems posting pic's from photobucket before, now for some reason it turns into a major project. I tracked the ser# C165xxx back to 1902 and that works with the Pat. dates. Receiver and barrel #'s match. I will take it out later today and run a couple of rounds thru it.
  11. I have to go along with the Half Man, Tyrion, But lets move the age up to 90!
  12. Went to the gun show in Chattnooga and a Winchester 1897 12ga pump riot gun followed me home. It was made in 1902 and has had the wood replaced somewhere along the way. Action is very slick. A real Blast From The Past! I will run some rounds thru it in honor of Memorial Day. Thank all you Vets out there for your service.
  13. That is one fine looking Buck Mark
  14. Ruger Mark III I put the Volquartsen trigger kit in, pulled out the mag safety and put on a Bushnell mini red dot and a set of Altamont grips. It shoots better then I do. If
  15. Is your stock set up to take the long cleaning rod or the short one? If you will be using the short 5 inch rod then chances are that the gun is a transion piece made toward the end of the war, but before the "last ditch" guns. If that is the case the wings on the rear site, the mono pod and the cleaning kit did not come on these guns due to the lack of steel. The cleaning rod hardware that holds the rod in place is also different between the to sizes. Mine was set up for the short rod, and the rod screws into a round steel piece found under the front of the stock a couple of inches in from the end of the nose cap . I believe the long rods are held in place with some type of spring with a square button fitted under the front of the stock just before the nose cap. The front of the stock will only be drilled a couple of inches for the short rod.
  16. Nice save of an old war horse! I would go with Garufa and the BLO.
  17. I can't seem to be able to post pictures from photobucket any more. Has anything changed in the past week? I had a picture in my signature before the new software and lost it. Now I can't reload it or any other pictures on the forum.
  18. First I've heard about it. But I would like to add one to my collection, maybe 2.
  19. The cleaning rod size will depend on the stock and hardware on the stock. there is a long rod 24 in. and short rod 5 in. Mine uses the short rod. How much of the original hardware do you have? Do you have the front nose piece/bayonett lug? This site has many parts for the Arisaka 99. If you need some pictures for ref. I can send some close ups of mine. Let me know. http://www.sarcoinc.com/japarisaka.html
  20. This site has alot of info on the Jap Arisaka. I used a couple of sites to get all the info on my Arisaka 99, I'll try and find the other sites for you. The rear sights and cleaning rods changed as the war went on and steel became harder to get. http://www.radix.net...e_markings.html
  21. I'm also looking for an AK 47 with wood furniture, 7.62 with straight stock. Can't find anything around Chattanooga, looks like I will have to buy off the net. Can anyone help with a good website to buy off? I would rather see what I'm buying but can't find anything local. Atlantic Arms has one made by IO inc. Inter Ordnance, that looks good, any feedback would help. http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct1057.aspx
  22. Welcome from Dunlap.
  23. Lost pictures and emoticons on signature. Other then that, it works good.
  24. Has anyone ever delt with Henderson Defence, out of Henderson, Nv.? I'm looking for a AK 47 and they have some I may be interested in.
  25. Do a search on "ambidextrous thumbhole 10/22 stock". There are a few stock makers that make what you are looking for. Tactical solutions makes a nice ambi target stock. Vantage RS Stock | Tactical Solutions
