  1. Here is a link to the Illinois State FOID Act. Be prepared to spend some time trying to read it. I was born in the Peoples Republic and lived there for 48years. I had to put up with this BS for the last 27 years I lived there as it was passed in 1968.   http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=1657&ChapAct=430%26nbsp%3BILCS%26nbsp%3B65%2F&ChapterID=39&ChapterName=PUBLIC%2BSAFETY&ActName=Firearm%2BOwners%2BIdentification%2BCard%2BAct%2E
  2. Its not all that hard to figure out. If your not there when the ammo is brought out to the floor your chances of finding 22s is slim to none. With a 3 box limit a case of 22lr bricks is gone by the 4th person in line. The good news is with people buying up their 3 box limit in 22s, the 9mm, 40. & 45 stay on the shelf a lot longer. I found .380 still in the ammo cabinet at 4 in the afternoon.   Ammo is starting to loosen up some, Academy changed over to a 2box limit per cal. with 7.62x39 back on the shelf and not up front. I understand people being PO about not being to walk into a store and buying what ever ammo they want, but it is what it is. As far as Larry and his bros, that's not going to stop as long as there is a market to sell it to. If you can't beat them at their own game and get there before them, you just have to live with it.   If anyone is intent on changing the way ammo is being sold at this time. I suggest you visit Amazon in Chattanooga today. There's a guy giving a speech there that has a "fix" for the ammo shortage. Just my  :2cents: .
  3.     There is a big difference between "walmart no longer ordering ammo" and "Walmart employees haven't been able to manually order ammo". I guess WM took the human factor out of ordering so no one could put in massive orders and overload their system. Letting the computer order small quantities at a time per store would insure all stores at least getting some ammo. But that's just my take on what is going on. It's the half truth posts that come up on the Google searches that fuel the panic buying, because people think WM will not be stocking any more ammo. Thanks for posting that again austin7.62.
  4. If your WM hasn't had 9mm for that long you may want to talk to the store manager or call 1-800-walmart and find out why.
  5. So your saying that WM has not been ordering ammo since Jan. 2013 ?????? Maybe I'm missing something in your post, but I've been finding ammo in WM. just bought some CCI Mini-Mags and 9mm this weekend. It's just the luck of the draw, but its been showing up.
  6. I also have family in Illinois, but before I trust the Illinois State Police or any of the local PD's up there with knowing the new laws I will keep locking my gun and ammo up as before. I don't want to be the first test case for The Peoples Republic of Illinois new gun laws. Down state, in southern Il. it may not be too big of a problem. But if you are going anywhere near Chicago, Cook, Dupage, or Will counties I wouldn't chance it until they get all the rules sorted out. I lived up there for 48 years and there is no reasoning with the Il. State Police.  :taser:
  7. First time in a long time CCI mini-mags today at our WM. :woohoo:
  8. Welcome to TGO. I also moved to East Tennessee from South Fl.
  9. What he said.
  10. You can still get the unconverted Saiga 410 for around $400. The mag you saw was a 10 or 15 round, the 30s are a drum. With the Arsenal Saiga 410 you need to shoot 3in shells or it won't cycle. They  but the're not cheep to play with. I found my Arsenal a few years ago for under $600 new, couldn't pass it up at the time and glad I didn't. I take that back $400 not even close. Sorry, the ad I saw was a "not in stock" left over from the pre crazy era. Now I'm really glad I jumped on that Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!
  11.   I didn't say Tennessee. He would have to move out of the country and go down to South Florida.  :puke: http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2013-02-20/news/fl-wagner-police-pension-20130219_1_police-pension-board-public-pensions-pension-fund A lot of people work a second job, and it's not because they have the summer off.
  12. Now if you want a fun .410 toy to spend some $ on check out one of these http://www.k-var.com/shop/SGL41-61.html
  13. $19.97 as of July 8, 2013. That's the last time I saw it at our WM.
  14. When you can find it at WM it's $19.95.
  15. You may want to take a closer look at what your local Teachers, Firefighters & LEOs are making and what kind of retirement plans they are getting before you give them more of your tax $$$. I have worked both, 30yrs private and 11yrs city. Not sure about Teachers but the city I worked for, LEOs and Fire retired at 20-25yrs service with retirement pay close to or better then 90% of their highest pay grade. Fire and Police sucked up more then 70% of the city budget per year and their retirement plans have sent many cities to the poor house. I'm not saying they don't deserve the money they make, but compared to private companies they have a petty sweet deal.
  16. I say give them their gun free zone. The animals have run the zoo ( Chicago ) for years. Quit trying to save them from their selves and let nature take it's course. The sooner they kill each other off and burn everything to the ground the better. I would put a fence around Cook Co. and post it with "Enter at your own risk" signs and wright it off as no longer a part of Illinois. Just my :2cents:
  17. Mine too, almost 2 months. I ordered on May,16 and received them today.
  18. We already have.
  19. I know what you're saying. Lived there quite a few years. They have no idea how to handle a ammo sale to someone out of state. I went thru that last April at a Walmart. I just had to show them my Tn. DL and explain I'm from out of state and the problem was solved. The next day same store, different clerk, we had to get the manager to OK the sale. But it was worth it, I scored some bricks of 22's.   But you are right about trying to handle a gun at a gun store, you need to show that FOID card before they even talk to you. I don't believe you can get a FOID card being out of state, I think it is set up for Illinois residents only. Good luck with your quest, but I don't think your going to have much luck. Keep us up to date, as I think you are the first person from outside of The Peoples Republic of Illinois to request a Illinois FOID card.
  20. Why would you need/want a Illinois FOID card if you don't live in Illinois?
  21. They had team names on their uniforms? I guess I missed that!
  22. I'm with you except for the last line "I am much more likely to spend $500 on a tattoo than a gun". Forty five years riding motor cycles (35 of those on a Harley) and you end up with some ink somewhere along the trip.
  23. It said the delivery was expected in May. So I would think that's a done deal by now.
  24.   "The injuries are so minor that the word slam implies great force," Rao said in response to questioning by prosecutor John Guy. "There was not great force used here." Click here for full coverage of the George Zimmerman Trial Rao said Zimmerman's injuries were not only "not life threatening" but were also "very insignificant." She said the injuries to the back of Zimmerman's head were consistent with hitting the ground but the injuries on his face were from consistent with one punch or strike.    Under questioning by defense attorney Mark O'Mara, Rao acknowledged she was appointed by state attorney Angela Corey, who is overseeing the prosecution of Zimmerman. She also conceded that while Zimmerman's injuries were consistent with one punch, it does not mean that he was not hit repeatedly. "Could it of been four times?" O'Mara asked Rao, who replied, "That's not my opinion but it is possible."    If your going to quote the article use all of it, not just the part that fits your agenda. There has been quite enough of that BS from the news media with this case. :2cents:
  25. Where can you check to find if your prints are rejected?
