Welcome from Sequatchie, Co.

I'll play, but I had to go back a ways, nothing like a good throwing tomahawk. http://videosift.com/video/Johnny-Carson-and-Ed-Ames-The-Famous-Tomahawk-Toss Good old days of live TV.

:hijack: Very nicely done. Youth and exuberance is no match for old age and treachery.

Look at the Savage Hog Hunter in .223 or the Mossberg MVP. Savage comes with iron sights The MVP uses AR mags and the newest model also has iron sights. Optics are great until they break and you have nothing to back them up with. But as others have said, you don't want to get in a fire fight with a AK or AR using a bolt action.

Wal Mart single store policy?
crossfire replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The Peoples Republic of Illinois has a 3-day waiting period on all fire arms sales. I never saw anything like that in Tennessee. -
Spots,I think we hurt his feelings. He's pulled down his introduction post so no one will know he's from Wisconsin, doesn't like being down here, and is a expert with a nerf gun, air soft and BB gun. That being said I think your right on with your post. He's nothing more then a troll with an attitude. To bad, because a couple of members offered to take him to a range and show him around.

I believe he's a young pup wanting to run with the big dogs. Check out his new member intro. posted 27 July 2013 - 01:48 AM.

Well I agree with Robert, the OP is either a troll or the type of person that wouldn't make it past his first meeting with strangers if the S every HTF. I don't think I have seen anyone come on TGO and PO this many people with only one thread. I'm kind of surprised David let this one go this far.

I think there would be a larger % of four legged critters still around then the two legged ones after a couple of months.

Pretty sure a guy that bought ammo this morning

:stunned: Just how would upping there prices ensure that it would be bought by those that use it? Also you want the producers and the retailers to become the gougers so the scalpers can't? :screwy: -
Academy in Hixson had Monarch brass 308/150gr on the shelf in the ammo section, 20 per / $15.99 no limit. Not my first choice in ammo, but I bought a 100 rounds to try out at the range next week. They also had 5 or 6 different brands of .223 and 5.56 at the check out counter, 2 box limit.

I've been doing the same thing with Cabela's but I won't order anything less then a brick of 500 to make up for the shipping. 100 rounds of CCI mini mags for 8.99+$5.00 shipping is too high for me. But thanks for the heads up. -
I always liked dealing with Midway but there is no reason you should have put up with shipping rates that high just because you bought a box of ammo. It will be interesting to see what Larry has to say. Keep us up to date CS. I also deal with Cabelas, get their Visa card and join the Cabelas Club and shipping is a flat $5.00 ammo included.

There not "Match" ammo, but there a whole lot better then they were. :2cents:

You are right if each type of round is run off of a separate line. But if the lines have to change per type of round or type of packaging then it takes time to reconfigure the line and that means nothing is being produced. Even if your producing the same round and just change the qty per box everything has to change on the line from that point on. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you have a plant with five lines producing ten different types of 22lr and you have the same plant with five lines producing only one type the production of the plant producing only one type will be much higher. I would also think it would be faster to package 50,000 round in 500 round boxes then it would to package the same 50,000 rounds in 50 round boxes. Bottom line is, I think the manufactures could increase production if they really wanted to. But just like the gas companies, they have their hand in your pocket and there not going to let go.
-
I think your right about manufactures concentrating on the most popular calibers but as far as 22lr go I think they are adding to the shortage. I feel they could end this shortage in a month or two if they wanted to. People out there starving for 22's don't care if they get them in 50, 100, 225, 325, 333, 500, 525, 533, 550 and 555 round boxes. Most don't care how many f/s they travel or if they are hp or rn. If they were to just start cranking out standard 22 lr in 500 round bricks and quit making designer type ammo( m-22, auto-match, tactical or any other specialty 22 lr ) for a month or 2 you would flood the market with plinking ammo and satisfy most of your customer base. But you won't see that happen, there making too much money and could care less about it. :2cents:

I need to get into the shipping business!
crossfire replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Nothing new here, just an old feebay trick, keep the price lower then your competition on the item and then make up for it on the shipping. -
Federal Champion .22LR (Man, that was fast!)

The bad part of the whole 127 yard sale is there are plenty of people buying it. -
Any app that shows what is in stock pulls it's data from the stores data base. If the data base is updated from the shipping manifest before unloading the truck the balances you see many not be right. If its updated after unloading and everything is checked in the balances should be good. Either way just because it shows up as being in stock doesn't mean its on the floor ready for sale. As far as being a scalper or a regular Joe. From everything I've read in the Ammunition and Reloading forum, if he is in front of you in the line he is a Scalper, Hoarder, Reseller and a no good SOB. If he is behind you he is a Shooter, Sportsman and all around Regular Joe.

I have a ATM milled receiver on my 1960 Polish AK and it's a very good shooter.
-
Well unless you have a unlimited supply of ammo or very deep pockets, the days of going to the range and blowing up 500-1000 rounds are over, at least for me. I have changed my shooting habits since this shortage. If I'm shooting my AR or AK I use 20 round mags. or just half load the high capacity ones. I do the same with any semi-auto hand guns. I have also been using my bolt action and wheel guns a lot more, anything to slow down my rate of fire. I can spend a afternoon at the range, have a good time and only go through a 100-150 rounds. Well anyway, it works for me. :pleased:
