  1. Thank you for your service. You come here from California and your not happy with our firearms laws!    I have to agree with Enfield, Bye!
  2. I have my trigger set at 3 lbs and the reset is very short and not sure how you would measure this without going the range and just shooting it. I have a shooting friend that has a CZ Accu-Shadow and my reset is real close to his.
  3. I don't think too many people have ever shot a Witness Elite so they don't know just how nice of a gun they are for the price. I have one in 9mm and I love it. The only complaint I have ever heard about the gun is it's heavy.
  4. Have you checked out the "firearms classified"? A nice SKS just hit the listings.
  5. Not snowing now, but we have a little snow on the ground from last night and this morning.   Dunlap, Tennessee
  6. I never lived in the northern part of Florida, your taxes and insurance are nothing compared to South Florida. Car insurance over $1200 a year per car, with a clean driving record and a average car or truck. Home insurance over $3500 a year, if you could get it, and they would raise it 50% a year just to get you to go elsewhere. You had to have hurricane and flood insurance even if you were 25-30 miles inland and not in a flood plain. Property taxes in Broward Co. were unreal and then you add city tax on top and you were over $3500 a year, and I was homesteaded in. The guy that bought my house had to pay over $7500/year in taxes. That was in 2005 and a 2100 sq. ft. home.   We were going to move to Clinton, Florida when we retired, but some friends put us on to Tennessee and it was a no brainer! So here we are and we love it. Hope all goes well for you and I'm glad your enjoying the beaches.
  7. I also had friends in Fl. Many moved up to TN. when they retired. Taxes and car & home insurance will eat you alive down there.  I like the change of seasons here and never could get used to putting outdoor Xmas lights on a palm tree.
  8. I have it's twin! It's just like the one I carried in Vietnam in 1967. Mine is a double stamp, M 1911A1 U.S.ARMY on slide and frame. 1943 also and it looks like we are close on Ser#. I have all the papers from when it was retired from the Army. Nice find!
  9. Orlando was the part of the state everyone in S. Florida ran to when a hurricane was coming. I think that changed in 2004. South Florida was like a Third World Country, with everyone speaking Spanish. I don't miss it at all.
  10. Was that the year they had 3 cross over the same area? Two from the east and 1 from the west.
  11. What Mike said. South Florida for 11 years. The beaches get old real fast and the traffic is awful, and so are the drivers. Sea food  is great and the only thing I miss about Fl. If that's what you like enjoy! Just not for me.
  12. I have been checking the net, and some of the reviews are not good, when you can find them. I will wait and see how these work out, before buying one. Feeding issue seams to be the big problem.   http://arizonashooting.com/v3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=202548
  13. Trigger was at 8 LBS out of the box. I have it down to 6.5 LBS just by cleaning a lubing. I will try to shoot it tomorrow if the weather is good.
  14. Hard to beat at that price, you did good!
  15. What's not to like. The finish is great, controls are still stiff, trigger not to bad and will loosen up with some range time. I sure like the sights and grips. I hope to run some rounds thru it tomorrow. It needs to be cleaned and lubed, but looks like a shooter. If it shoots as good as my SR1911 Standard size it will be a keeper.
  16. I had both the PLR and the Sub 2000 and agree with you 100%. The Sub 2k I kept the longest, but the sights were the weak point. The CZ with a optic will be a much better gun at half problems of the Sub2k.
  17. You beat me to it Garufa. They had the best prices around, I drove all the way up there from Dunlap. Well worth the drive. I haven't seen him on Gun Broker
  18. RIA Match 45cal Full size 1911 with custom Buckeye Burl grips
  19. Good to have another collector from our area. I'm in Dunlap.
  20. Get the RIA and don't look back.
