When to start transitioning to higher caliber from 22lr
crossfire replied to bigalbaldwin's topic in Handguns
I'm within 30 miles of Chattanooga and have a number of handguns from 22lr to 45 acp, both semi autos and revolvers. I have no problem letting you try some out. PM me. -

An old prospector shuffled into town leading a tired old mule. The old man headed straight for the only saloon to clear his parched throat. He walked up and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other. The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, “Hey old man, have you ever danced?” The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, “No, I never did dance. Never really wanted to.” A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, “Well, you old fool, you’re gonna dance now,” and started shooting at the old man’s feet. The old prospector — not wanting to get a toe blown off — started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be tied. When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers. The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air. The crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels. The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man’s hands, as he quietly said, “Son, have you ever kissed a mule’s ass?” The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, “No sir. But — I’ve always wanted to.” There are a few lessons for us all here: 1 – Never be arrogant. 2 – Don’t waste ammunition. 3 – Whiskey makes you think you’re smarter than you are. 4 – Always, always make sure you know who has the power. 5 – Don’t mess with old men; they didn’t get old by being stupid.

My mistake, it should of been Brian France, not the France Family.

Motown residents answer police chief's call to arms
crossfire replied to Pete123's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
We can call it "Jade Helm" :panic: :hiding: -
I used to never miss a NASCAR race, on T.V. or live, until Brian France destroyed it. I would rather go and watch "paint dry" then what NASCAR has turned into. :2cents: A few years back you couldn't get a ticket to Bristol unless you had connections or paid a scalper. Now they have empty seats. I'm glad to see what's left of the fans still remember their roots and show Brian France what he can do with PC rules.

Congratulations, I said, you would do well. :woohoo:

Welcome to the Hard Knocks Club and I mean that with all do respect. Like Red333 said, "it's all part of getting older". We've all had set backs, it's how you deal with those set backs that builds character. You sound like you have your act together and you will do well. Good luck, and don't beat yourself over this.

Regal movie theaters begin searching bags
crossfire replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Maybe we can get the Government to set up a group of "out of work hamburger flippers" as security for the theaters. We can call it TSA (Theater Security Administration). Oh never mind, they used them all up at the airports. -
That's good news! Dispatch/Warehouse/logistics that was my bag for over 40 years. I would say they cut you guys for a reason and used the guns as an excuse. Look at this way, they gave you 10 years of OJT and they can't take that away. Good luck with the interview.

I looked at a G43 today, I have a G19 and a G26 and I like both. But putting it next to the G26, it may be thinner but I just can't justify getting the G43. I have the +2 extenders on the mags and I just plain like the feel of the G26 better. But if I didn't have the 26 that 43 would of followed me home today. :pleased:

Mine reads WO Dean E. Clinton 6/11/1967 U.S. Army. This is the third one of his I've had, when they get old and break I send for another with his name on it. I feel the same way about being buried with it.

I'm not leaving, and not sure who said this. "I came into this world kicking and screaming and covered in someone else's blood... and I've no problems going out the same way". But that's the way I feel about it.

Discussion Of Possible Gun Legislation, Parks Again
crossfire replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"James Bolden, a retired director of police services in Memphis, and Franklin County Sherriff Tim Fuller noted the negative publicity surrounding recent police shootings that occurred despite the heavy training law enforcement officers receive. They say civilians with handgun permits are more likely to make poor decisions in using weapons". Things that make you say WTF? :stunned: Lets see, the police with heavy training screw up, but it's the civilians with carry permits who are making poor decisions. How does that work? :ugh: -
Go with a volquartsen trigger kit one of the best mods you can do for a Ruger MK or 45/22.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. I'm sure he was very proud to have you as a son. Make no doubt about it, I'm sure Afghanistan was just as bad as Nam. Thank you for your service, :usa:
