  1. Well there is a joint in Oliver Springs that will serve you. Very good food I might add. Oliver Springs BBQ sign cooking up controversy
  2. naa colonial heights, rogersville, kingsport, erwin, and elizabethton all sell long guns....not sure about bristol.
  3. 500-1k for decent ones. I own 4 of them and love them. All of mine were gifts from my dad who is obsessed with HP's and pre 64 model 94's. I can't speak for the fn's but the Belgium HP in 9mm are stellar guns. Here is one of mine with stag grips next to one of my glocks.(recently sold the glock17 to purchase a glock 19) I have 2 FNH FNP in .45 and 9mm. If the quality of FN HP are the same these expect excellent results.
  4. I like her and if she was running I would vote for her. The show was a good glimpse into the life of a normal person who sometimes makes mistakes and will admit to those mistakes. She may be annoying but at least she seems like a real person. I would like to see pictures of Barbara Boxer or Nazi Pelozi climbing a rock or riding a atv. At least I would think maybe they do normal things and not just recite in the mirror....I'm good enough...I'm strong enough...and dogonnit people like me.
  5. Page 17 section 10. Use or possession of electronic light amplifying device is prohibited when in possession of a firearm or archery tackle between sunset and sunrise. So that about sums it up with what was mentioned above.
  6. The hunting and trapping guide has bold print on page 6. This is not a legal document but a summary of........... In va you can hunt yotes at night but not sure about the red light thing.
  7. What a slap in the face for Alaskans if the reason the show was not renews is because of the hunting. Unreal...I can see the left wingers now sitting in their recliners eating a burger "hunting is just wrong...using guns to kill things is just bad!" meanwhile they scarf down the last of their angus burger and fries from hardee's. Then turn the tube over to some quality programming like The Real Houswives Of Atlanta.....great morally correct tv. Sarah Palin's reality show Alaska axed after just one season | Mail Online
  8. Personally...and this is just my opinion I think the Taurus Judge is the ultimate survival weapon. Lots of versatility for hunting and self defense. If I had one gun and only one gun .....I would take my Judge with me.
  9. My hunting partner uses the same methods as you and it's works very well for him. Camo works as designed,,, a plaid shirt, Hawaiian style shirt, anything that breaks up the patterns are good. I have had success not wearing camo so I chose not to. Just my preference....I think for bow hunters, duck hunters and such camo is a necessity. Once again just my opinion/......however I grew up hunting with a bunch old school blue jeans and wool shirt wearing guys so never really got into camo....and I can't hit a barn door 5 yards in front of me with a bow.
  10. Oops I lied...I killed a Dall Sheep with tiger striped camo pattern pants last year.
  11. I have killed everything from elk to chipmunks and never once put on a camo piece of clothing. Maybe bow hunters can use it but it's all about scent.
  12. Bottom line if it's less than 70% and your going to use it a lot do the strip work yourself and take it to someone to have it blued. I have a 1911 that was my grandfathers that sat in a boat compartment for 30 years. Had it done by a cat named Corby. I shoot it all the time. If you just want to show it off then maybe do it yourself. You can hot blue yourself but it's dangerous. You need the proper equipment and VENTILATION.
  13. Yea.....true. I like doing stuff myself. I hav a bunch if guns that I like to hang up in the trophy room, over the door, one at my fireplace. Cold blue is ideal for them because they won't get a lot of use otherwise except being viewed. Cold blue not good for a gun your going to shoot a lot. All my have turned really nice. Birchwood Casey products. The guns were all damaged beyond value so it was fun to do it.
  14. Cold blue is not crap... It may not be as good as a hot blue but it's not crap. No need to make a statement like that when people use something for one reason or another. I have cold blued several firearms and they have turned out as nice as I could ask for fir what I was doing. Two of them are hanging up in the gun room. So maybe for what you would use it for is crap. Maybe what I use it for is better than letting some gunsmith rip you off.
  15. Amazing Dave .... Now sell it to me. Been looking for another model 19.
  16. best before pic i could fine is my wife shoooting it. the other two are after i redid it..... after
  17. I just got done totally refinishing a beat all to hell Remington 511. It was in bad shape....was pitted, wood was really bad and the blue was gone. Didn't take a before pic but I will post an after pick. I cold blued it and refinished everything for around 30 bucks and about 10 hours total work. Sanding, and had to file some of the pits out. It's looks really nice. It was my grandfathers and got tired of looking at it all beat up in the safe. You should do it yourself. It's fun and very rewarding. I'll post pics tomorrow.
  18. Whatever.
  19. My neighbor is up the food chain at Wal Mart corporate so I asked him today while helping him move a table. Columbine ring a bell? He said there was a push not to carry guns at any wallyworld. But so far they pick and choose what stores carry fund based on demographics of the area. If it's a place like the tri cities where hunters outnumber gangmembers they carry them. Apparently fat man Michael Moore has screwed the pooch for a lot of things.
  20. Awesome! ^^^^^ who else has some cool family stories??
  21. WOW. Christmas at your house gets expensive. Muhahahahahahaha. That's a lot of kids man.
  22. Yes it is....we were in England a while back and I found out the Henley Regatta is named after my family as well. I need to get ahold of some of the genealogy stuff. http://www.hrr.co.uk/
  23. We visited with my grandfather David Henley at his homestead yesterday. *Now normally that is nothing out of the ordinary for most people but he has a book of memories and stories that I feel are worth mentioning. * First of all I am like LT Dan....someone in my finally has fought in every single war since the Revolutionary War.* Apparently (and I remember this from childhood) the Henley street bridge was named after my great great great great grandfather. (might another great in there) Col. David Henley who my grandfather is named after. * Col. Henley's descendant remembers previous dedication of Henley bridge | wbir.com Colonel David Henley So if anyone has ever wondered about the Henley Street Bridge (I didn't think so) now you know.* My grandfather was a pilot during WW2 and flew the great F4 F-4 wildcat. *One of my great uncles was shot six times like Tupac at Iwo Jima. * He lived to write a memoir about his experience only to succumb to a house fire.* One of my other great uncles was shot in the battle of Midway. * They all survived unlike Lt Dans family. * Basically I just wanted to share a piece of my life with you guys and below are pictures of my grandfather during our visit wiith some other family members.* David Henley My wife and my grandfather...his memory book on the table The back yard. *Their poodle is back there some where My grandfather and a family friend My wife And my grandfather pimping his UT tobaggon
  24. Wait almost done.....im not pushing my opinion off on anyone dude. I think some of you are doing enough of that to go around by smashing others opinions. Like instated and you quoted...I don't believe my way is the only way.
