  1. LC is going to have an uphill battle with Mercedes, Mcllaren is going to go to Chit until Button can keep his nose out of the oriental girls tails and get it together, Red Bull is on par it looks like to win yet again.  Alonzo is still crying and is the modern day Prost waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, and maybe Lotus is going to compete again?  Kimi had a great run and pulled it off with 2 stops which means the tires may be as good as the driver who saves them.  I guess at this point im for anyone except Red Bull or Alonzo.
  2. Some of the black parts on this gun appear to be carbon.
  3.       the one thing i noticed about my sr1911 is the hammer has rusted a bit... I have seen others new in the store that appear to be rusted as well.  Did you have this problem?  If i get mine polished i am going to drop a wilson combat stainless hammer in mine i think.
  4. This brings up a question for me, I ran into a cat that had a sr1911 for sale with ammo. Basically i got 2 holsters 200 rounds of 45 and the gun for 600 bucks, he needed money to replace a camera lens or something.  Anyway, i was going to resell the gun but i liked it so much i decided to keep it.  I would like to remove these two etchings as well.  Where would i start to find someone to do this?  will polishing it out weaken the slide? im an idiot when it comes to stuff like this.
  5.     ever seen a 250lb man move a car with no wheels on it?  me either
  6. I upgraded mine to a #18 because it had a issue every now and then locking the slide back when shooting 240.  I dropped in a wilson combat #18 and no issues anymore.  I think i paid 6 bucks for the spring. My Gold Cup Trophy came with 12  I lost the 16 before i could install it.  I think the 16 would do just fine with any round. But as stated above 16 was original spring strength on the government size model.  I have 18 in all of my 1911's now, wolf or wilson combat will work fine.
  7. Bravo Company makes a very solid platform, Daniel Defense has served me well.....A little pricey but very good craftmanship.   Bravo company does not do backorders -- if it is in stock you get it and their web site stays updated.
  8.       i would shut it down until you can have it looked at.
  9. I agree with stan, however check your video cards fan, and all other fans to make sure they are running properly.  If there is a add in video card and the the fan is junked up it will shut down your system.  Heatsink fan will most def cause this as well.. Is it an AMD or INtel? AMD runs quite a bit higher in temp than pentium.... any differential in fan function will cause AMD based machines to shut down quickly.
  10.       I get mad as hell about it, but the only thing i can do about it is not buy it...... unfortunately there are plenty of others that have more money than me, or simply do not care.  I saw cases of 223 at walmart for 150 -- they sold out and now i see those same cases going for 275 the same day on the internet.
  11.           There is a cat that used to work for my company and his wife works at walmart sporting goods.  Kinda funny how he has aquired over 8k rounds in the last few months .......
  12.     I call BS on this, every 1911 i have Colt's, Ruger and even taurus has yet to produce a failure right out of the box.  Even with the factory mags.  I use wilson combat mags in all my 1911's but i have shot at least 50 rounds through all of them with the factory mags and have yet to produce a failure to feed or fire with the factory mags. I like glocks ok but this statement to me is typical glock owner balogne.  I have or have had many glocks and they are great firearms, but stating this about the 1911's is simply inaccurate, at least based on my experience with the 5 i am associated with. However the only Para i have had any experience with was the black ops and it shot fine over 200 rounds out of the box.
  13. Sometimes you can find a Magnum Research "baby" eagle for that price -- the jericho it is called, very good pistola for theprice used of course./
  14. And in current news homeland security has struck a deal with Sig and HK...................hmmmmmmmm
  15. OEM disk are usually specific to the motherboard unless they have not been used...... ISO or any non OEM disk should read fine with your code..
  16.       people stock up on gold....why? what is a gold bar going to do if the dung hits the fan?   Ammo, Guns, food.......that is what is important to me I would think.  Maybe a back yard dentist if i need a gold tooth ......
  17. Big sis been by yet?  Nice shotz
  18. Krull

    My first 1911!

    NICE!
  19. I dusted off the walther PPK sunday and there was a kid grabbed all 7 rounds of brass literally the minute i shot it and stuck it in his pocket.  I let it go but are we telling our kids to steal brass these days? Unreal......
  20. I have a set amount of guns that are off limits for whatever reason, personal or heirlooms etc.  Then i have a few guns that i trade in and out of on a regular basis.  Just depends on what the flavor of the month is for me at that time.  I rarely sell unless there is one for sell i can aquire immediately after the transaction.  I have a set amount of guns and if i sell for cash i end up spending on something else sometimes.  That is my reasoning for trade only ususally.
  21. The problem I am running into here is the good ole boy system, they can scan the day before the bar codes and know what is coming in,  They then call their families and friends and they are there waiting to purchase the ammo.  Guess that is the beauty of working at wal mart.  Never thought there was a beauty in it but i guess that would be it right now.
  22. This is the same platfrom that the "BABY" Eagle and the Jericho is on.  I have no experience with the EAA/Tanfoglio but the eagles are built like a brick $hit house and i have owned a jericho and b eagle 2.  No complaints with the guns at all.  As far as worth i would say 450-525 range depending on condition.  Usually that platform goes from 350-500 used depending on the caliber.
  23. on armslist in nashville 360 bucks wont be there long -- Not a horrible price considering the mega packs (250) are going for 120 dollars here --- if i was closer -- ohh well
  24. I stopped watching NAPCAR when they changed the tire compounds in the late 90's I mean you really expect me to believe that any 20 year old is a better race car driver than Jeff Burton, Gordon, JR, Stewart or any of these cats that have been driving for years? It's all about the car now, driving skill means squat. Davey Allson is rolling over in his grave at the new WWN. Hell I used to at least go to the Bristol night race every year....but the chase has ruined that. They are scared to breathe on each other.
  25. Parrothead I'll take you up on that for sure.
