  3. Winchester Personal Defense in my XD-45. Federal Hydrashoks in my XD-9.
  4. Did you try a new magazine yet?
  5. Welcome! .
  6. That's nice.. I gotta get a .22 pistol so I don't go broke shooting centefire guns!
  7. Pretty much any gun manufacturer will have manuals for most of their models on the website.
  8. Yea, but try the same ammo in the new magazine so you see whether it's the magazine or the ammo. If it does that in both mags with both types of ammo then the problem is the gun. You probably knew all that already though since the process is about the same as when you are troubleshooting a computer
  9. Oh. Well I am very familiar with that site but I never browsed their forums. There are acronyms for everything these days I guess. For example MBI - My Balls Itch.
  10. I've had bad luck with Winchester Super-X HPs in my old bolt action Mossberg .22. The gun is over 60 years old and has never had a problem cycling anything until I put that ammo through it. As an opposite of your problem, the Federals cycle great in that gun. The Federals also cycle great in my Marlin model 60. How many magazines do you have? I think Wal Mart sells them.. maybe you could get another new magazine and see if the mag is the problem. If it isn't you can always take it back to wherever you buy it.
  11. That's pretty damn quick. I'm going to send it off today.
  12. I sent him an e-mail. I think I'm going to get some new sights anyways and just have him install them. The thread that CF posted scares me a bit, but there are always unsatisfied customers no matter where you go.
  13. Well I'm going to have to take it somewhere. This is impossible
  14. What does Franklin Guns charge for their FFL fee? My guy only charges $20 + the instacheck fee
  15. Thanks, I will freeze it.
  16. Well,I'm going to adjust them myself. Here's what I have come up with. Of course I am going to be putting soft material between the clamps and the slide. Fear mspaint
  17. $20 Gerber from Wal-Mart. It's never failed me, not that there are that many moving parts on a pocketknife.
  18. They charge $45.
  19. Holy balls, I called Rivergate Guns and Knives, they wanted $75.00 just to install sights Overcharging bastards. I'm still considering Tungsten's link. I'm considering just getting a punch and knocking the stock sight back into place and calling it a day. It only needs to move about 1.5mm.
  20. 4" left at 10 yards. Before anyone says anything, yes, I know how to shoot. It's the gun. The sight is noticeably moved a little according to the centering marks on the slide, probably to compensate for the previous owner's inability to shoot straight because it shoots so far over. I was thinking that if I'm going to mess with the sights I might just replace them while I'm at it. Thanks for the link Tungsten. I'll check that out!
  21. Good rules. I learned them a long, long time ago.
  22. Do they also check to see if it is sighted in after installing the new sights? Do they have a range or do they bore sight it?
  23. XD-45 with 13 in the mag and one in the chamber.
  24. Full coke cans and hard drives here.
