  1. Probably because I haven't had any parts break on my XD Anyone here had their XD break yet? Glock dominates because they have been selling those mainstream pistols since the early 80s. I'm not trying to start an arguement here or a Ford vs Chevy pissing contest, but "catch up" to M&P? I'm assuming you mean number of guns sold. How do you figure since the M&P has only been around about a year and a half whereas the XD/HS2000 has been around since 99? I don't know anyone who owns an M&P online or in person, but I know at least 5 people personally who own XDs.
  2. I have been considering one of these units for my bedside gun. Probably the Streamlight model as they have a great reputation: https://shop.xd-hs2000.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=49&categoryId=3 I just had a few questions about them. Are the lasers pretty much fixed or are they adjustable? Is there just a selector switch to go from light/laser or both on at the same time? What other relevant info can anyone offer?
  3. What's the deal with becoming a member at GGC? Is Ken Correll still a member there? He is an old family friend who took me there once when I was 17 or so.. I had a great time. And I'm in MJ, close enough to Gallatin to go to any breakfast that may arise!
  4. Not yet, but some of my friends do with good results and it doesn't cause problems. Academy has the cheapest price around: -$5.59 for 50 9mm -$9.99 for 50 .45 ACP The only reason I haven't bought any yet is because Academy is in Rivergate and out of my way. The next time I'm up there though I'm going to stock up on some CCI.
  5. Howdy Mike! Thanks for the deal on the magazines.
  6. I forgot to add that I used to live in NJ from 86-88... I was just a kid. My family was there while my dad was in the Army at Ft. Monmouth.
  7. http://www.springfield-armory.com/ You know what you must do
  8. My friend owns land in a state park. When we go in to ride four wheelers on his land, the entrance to the park we use is not much more than a wide horse trail and there are absolutely no signs stating no firearms. What if we wanted to shoot on his land? It's unclear how these laws work when you are a landowner or are on private property within the state park.
  9. Those Sigma's are cheap, bottom of the line semi-auto guns. I'd rank them right up there with Llama. I've ran 100 rounds straight through my Beretta 92FS I used to own, Glock 36, and my Springfield XD-45 and haven't seen any loss of accuracy beacuse of it.
  10. Can you quote those laws, because I think some of your information is dated. The Gun Free School Zones act which is the main offender with the 1000' rules was declared unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court over 10 years ago. As far as a parent being the only person to bring a gun on school grounds if they are dropping their kid off or not, that's not really the case because the law doesn't specifically say "parent dropping off student." It says "a non-student adult" meaning if I go to a high school to watch a basketball game, I can have my gun in my car as long as I don't handle the gun. See the quote below. Check the law yourself at www.lexisnexis.com As far as Board of Education rules, I searched all over the internet and could not find that regulation anywhere. I'm not call you wrong on all these, but unless a law or regulation posted on an internet message board is quoted from the books, I'm not going to believe it unless I see it myself.
  11. Well that's not necessarially the case if you read the law. There is actually no mention about handgun carry. So let's look at 39-17-1302 Nowhere are handguns mentioned at all. Number 8 is somewhat vague but states "no lawful purpose." A person carrying a handgun with a valid handgun permit for self-defense is doing so with a lawful purpose. I wonder who started interpreting these laws as "No handgun carry in state parks" causing the rest of us to believe that is true when the law doesn't clearly agree with that.
  12. You may not be able to carry it in the school but you can sure keep it in your car so you are at least protected to and from work. This is TN law. You can look it up at LexisNexis.com
  13. Yea, I was refering to the aluminum cased ammo. And holy balls, that's a lot of ammo
  14. Maybe I'll buy four more boxes tomorrow. Even if they do, CCI ammo is still cheaper and is about on par with the WWB as far as consistency: http://www.academy.com/index.php?page=content&target=products/outdoors/hunting/target_shooting_ammunition&start=0&selectedSKU=0326-02145-3570 $21 for 100. They can't be reloaded but I never planned on reloading .45 ACP anyway.
  15. 615-883-0201 Call them.
  16. Yea, FlashChat would be a great addition.
  17. One thing I like is that they are adjustable with a small alan screw.
  18. I might buy a few more tomorrow. They have been that price since early last year.
  19. I bought my XD-45 after shooting my brother's XD-40 last spring. At the time I was carrying a Glock 36 but after shooting the XD, the choice was clear. It felt better and I liked it. I sold the Glock that week and the next weekend I had an XD-45. The XD-9 I bought was simply because the higher price of .45 ACP kept my from shooting as much as I wanted to. Since the 9mm ammo is half as much as the .45 ACP ammo, I can shoot twice as much as I have been!
  20. I posted this in another thread but at Wal Mart in Hermitage it's still $22.27 for 100 rd .45 WWB, just so no one is discouraged like I was before going in to check the price.
  21. Just FYI, 100 rd WWB .45 ACP are $22.27 at @ Wal Mart in Hermitage.
  22. Happy birthday! What a wife you have there to get you all that cool stuff, On a related note, Happy Birthday to DeeZ Nuts!!
  23. Well I just ordered these from XD-HS2000: https://www.shop.xd-hs2000.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=41 http://www.truglo.com/content/prod_handgun_sights/tritium_fiber_optic.asp I am sending my slide off tomorrow. James who I talked to on the phone was very helpful. I can't wait to shoot with these!
  24. Come on.. we've all heard it before. The "lets just turn it into a glass desert" crowd. While it would be nice, most people who really think that are about two iq points short of a rock's iq.
