  1. I believe in the whole buy from your local dealer so local dealers don't go under philosophy. It would be a sad day when you can't go to a gun store and buy a gun on an impulse purchase . But seriously, I do like support local dealers. I have bought my share of guns via FFL transfer, and also several guns through local dealers. The common denominator here is that I used who had the lowest price. Obviously Rabbi can run his business any way he wants to. If I were in your position though Rabbi, I would not think of it as someone saving $30 bucks "on your back." Do you see it that way if the same person does the transfer at the dealer down the street? Instead of feeling like he should have bought your gun instead of having you do the transfer on the same gun, why not make the money off the transfers and sell the gun in your case to a walk-in customer? You could make a name for yourself doing FFL transfers as well as having good prices on in-stock guns. Several FFL transfers a day would add up pretty quick, plus you are selling to people who walk through the door for the first time. I respect your position. I plan on checking out your store sometime soon.
  2. I have used Bellshire Hardware for years to do my transfers. $20 for transfer $10 for background check The owner's name is Phil and he is happy to do all the transfers you want. 860-4212 - He is on Dickerson Rd.
  3. I used the same Fobus holster for both an XD-45 Service and XD-9 Service. There is a screw that you can turn to adjust tension on the gun.

    Grandson

    Congratulations Mike!
  7. You can download every episode for the past year or so from his site http://www.guntalk.com/site3.php#archive I listened to several months worth of shows at work, then got kind of burned out as it got very repetitive. Maybe I'll try listening again. I used to watch PDTV, but there are no new episodes at the moment and they've even quit showing re-runs.
  8. Reloaded carry ammo isn't wise for a number of reasons. Do a search.
  9. I assume by unarmed, you mean "unarmed ;)" No security job is worth your life.
  10. One of the guys at work who is obviously very talented had this waiting for me when I returned yesterday, so I scanned it in. I'm doing half days all this week:
  11. Anyone who thinks the database has been pulled because the Tennessean has realized the errors of its ways is wrong. There simply was not enough bandwidth and server power to keep up with the search requests. Once they figure out a way to keep up, it will be posted again. I spent 20 minutes on it after I first found it and wasn't able to get a single completed request.
  12. Well I hope if/when this happens that it produces the results you desire.
  13. Also discussed here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=616
  14. I agree. We don't need to get into open vs concealed carry. I just don't really see what carrying openly for a day or even a week will accomplish. People see my carrying my gun.. ok, now what? Best case scenario, what do you think it would accomplish? Obviously I read your post so I know what you would want to happen, but how would carrying openly for a day accomplish this?
  15. Welcome. I know your friend Mikey D.
  16. That's awesome. I'm jealous!
  17. Well I never said I shoot Wolf exclusively. I also have a good stock of Remington UMC .223 ammo that I use if I want to do more precision shooting. I also sighted in the rifle with UMC. Not that it is the MOST accurate .223 ammo, but it's affordable brass ammo, and pretty damn accurate. Let's face it.. when one buys a couple thousand rounds of Wolf ammo, they aren't planning on shooting a couple thousand coyotes I use Wolf for plinking, and that's it. Besides, I have found Wolf accurate enough to hit what I want to hit, even at a few hundred yards. If I need more accuracy, I'll change to a magazine of something better.
  18. Yea. I have accepted the fact that if my extractor wears prematurely, I will replace it. they are inexpensive and it's cheaper than buying brass ammo.. I clean it every time I shoot it, too (disassemble and clean the bolt and use a chamber brush) so the red primer sealer isn't a big concern.
  19. Courts will overturn this, but it should never have come to this point in the first place. Even the FOID cards are not legal according to the constitution because requiring a person to have one with the penalty of not having one being fines, jailtime, and gun confiscation is an infringement on the right to keep and bear arms.
  20. I was mainly going by their ammo prices. $109 for 500 rounds of wolf .223 where places like Wideners sells it for just over $80.
  21. Cool! More overpriced chain outdoor stores!
  22. I just might do it
  23. Yes I did. I got it about a month ago.. it has 200 rounds through it. I can't get enough of it.
