Not going to address the priviledge right argument again. We will just have to agree to disagree. I think mandatory training is good also. I would perfer mandatory universal military service for all males and females for a minimum of 2 years. However I don't see that happening any time soon. Teaching gun saftey and handleing as a mandatory class in high school would be ok too. Until we get rid of the NEA/TEA and regain local control of our schools I don't see that happening either. So I either pay for the required training myself or I pay the State additional taxes to teach the required training. Personally I'd rather just pay myself as to pay addititonal taxes. And lets face it the classes may not be benificial to everyone, but they do give an overview of the legal issues and make people think about using deadly force. Also it does demonstrate which end the round comes out of. I wish to give up an over bearing, over reaching,over taxing,tyrannical Federal Government.

I love how people love to throw the word ignorant around on this board, and not just this post. I was taught to be tolerant of others opinions even if you disagree with them. Debate them and have vibrant discourse, but your argument is lost when the name calling starts. The man has an opinion he believes the fee's help keep a certain amount of rift raft from obtaining a permit. He did not personally attack you or your mother, and you could have made your point without the insults. My opinion is that you should have more pressing prioritys right now than a HCP. I have a Combat Commander Lenght that is 4.25" and its accuracy is more than acceptable. But I perfer the full size with a 5" barrel, I like the longer sight radius and I like the feel and balance better. Personal preference more than anything else.

You just can't make everybody happy. I think and I may very well be wrong. That in the Fair Tax system as proposed essencial items would not be taxed IE: food/clothing or these amounts would be rebated. Your reward for working harder would be you could afford the nice car and be able to pay the tax. Your reward now for working harder is what, escalting yourself into the next tax backet and paying more SS taxes,Medicare Tax, and income taxes, what a nice incentive huh. At least under the Fair Tax you would have a choice as to consume and pay the tax or to hold and save or invest your money. There are things that I do not like about it also. I see the bigger issue as how much revenue the Fed's collect and how much they spend regardless of the tax base used.They are doing things they should not be and never were intended to be doing.

Originally voting was limited, but I agree, if you are recieveing any type of goverment aid, or you pay no net income taxes you don't vote. I see your point on the Fair Tax, why I have always been against a state income tax here in Tennessee, the sales tax is a fair tax. However the size and scope of the Federal Government must be drastically reduced, its not the type of tax its the amount they tax and thus spend. Deficit spending should be outlawed, except in time of national emergency. And the Feds should be reined in and forced out of the areas they have no business in.

Yeah they are going to get their beloved Fair Tax in the form of a VAT, I just wonder what the rate will be. And will this be before or after they raid your 401K or IRA's. In Denmark in 1993 the VAT was 28%. That's 28% tax on every Kroner you spent.

If "the average American" cannot look at their paystub, and their 1040 and figure out what they are paying in taxes, a Fair Tax isn't going to give them anymore gray matter.

There are a bunch of Savage .223s on gunbroker, buy one there and have a local dealer do the transfer. I have had good luck with Gunbroker transactions so far. Personally stay away from cheap AR's there is nothing more fustrating, than a poorly fit, poorly functioning AR. Save your money and buy a good one if you go that route.
