How is caring what the dead man's father thinks about this part of a serious conversation? I'm sure Martin's father believes his son is a perfect, little, innocent, sweet black boy who was profiled and than tracked down and killed by a "white-Hispanic" vigilante; frankly I wouldn't really expect any father to think anything else. But so what? What does Martin's father's beliefs or feelings matter to Zimmerman's guild or innocence? I submit it makes ZERO difference and should make ZERO difference. Moreover, you've seem to make a habit of ignoring information that doesn't support your biased opinion (nothing wrong with bias as we all suffer from it but I think it's important it be recognized for what it is) so when you ignore known facts how can people have a decent discussion?

I'm not sure if you are being serious or not??? :) Anyway, I don't believe Dave is troll at all; I suspect that he really believes what he says he believes and really holds the opinions he holds. I don't understand the basis for many of his opinions/beliefs (and I don't mean just on the Zimemrman/Martin case) but that's a different issue than someone being a troll.

I ask again DAVES (since you ignored it the first time); why should anyone care what Trayvon's father thinks about anything and more importantly, what possible relevance could it have on the crime Zimmerman is accused of? Might I suggest you stop worrying about what people "think" happened (especially those with an obvious ax to grind) and stick to the facts that are known.

Wow...we lost two great ones today; both of them pretty young too.

I have both but if I had to chose to have only one it would be the 21 hands down. For accuracy and increase capacity I don't see it being much of a contest and although the 30 is my usual holster weapon I don't really have any trouble carrying either. :)

TN Professor Orders Students to Support Gay Rights
RobertNashville replied to a topic in General Chat
Why is anyone surprised when a liberal university professor at a liberal university does something like this? Do you expect a bear to act like a squirrel? Students DO have a choice of where to go to college don't they? If you they chose to go to a liberal/left-wing university they should expect this kind of trash. -
Being active and being effective are two different things. I think those who actually value the Constitution and think it is not just an historical document but rather, supposed to be how we freely govern ourselves, were silent for too long and our destination is now certain...the Tea Party may slow down the progression to that destination but I don't believe we can avoid it.

Walmart is not a school. Unless someone complains to Walmart management nothing is going to happen and likely nothing will happen even if you complain because Walmart isn't going to want to get in the middle of it. Most schools have a dress code and even if a school doesn't have a dress code that specifically addresses this issue I bet most courts will uphold the power of the school to set its own standards and enforce them. All that said, if this kid not cooperating with this LEO is what got him arrested THAT bothers me a lot more than any stupid T-shirt....I've seen no law that tells me I EVERY have to answer a cop's questions and if I'm not required to do so then I shouldn't be arrested for not doing something I'm not obligated to do.

I suspect, should one of the residents need to defend themselves with deadly force, any prosecutor who decided to bring charges will use their statements, and signs and all the rest to try and paint a picture of a neighborhood out to be a vigilantly force rather than just a citizen defending his/her life. I think they would have been far better off to do what they are doing but keep their mouths shut about it..

Dog the bounty hunter - what a putz!
RobertNashville replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm not sure why anyone here actually cares what Dog the bounty hunger thinks about much of anything, except maybe bounty hunting. That said, you can call his view on "guns" idiotic or whatever you want (and I wouldn't disagree) but I guarantee you that there are plenty of "gun owners" out there with similar views or at least, views that wold sound just as ridiculous to most of us! -
The prosecution has to paint a picture of what they think happened (their theory of the crime)...their job, so to speak, is to paint the defendant in the worst light possible. After all, they believe and they want the jury to believe that the defendant is guilty of whatever he is charged with. I'm not saying they will lie but they will do their best to make the defendant look guilty so if insinuating that he has something to hide because he didn't speak at all I'm sure they will. As far as I can tell, all this decision means is that people ought to do what most attorneys tell them to do anyway, say I don't want to speak or be interviewed, etc. without my attorney present and/or invoke the 5th amendment. As to the police/civilian thing...i don't care what the police think...when the police are investigating a crime they are NOT your friend which is why it's best to stick to your already memorized statement and then shut up. The fact that most police departments, as a matter of policy, wait a couple of days after the incident before they interview the officer involved in a shooting is something your attorney should raise at trial....your attorney and/or expert witnesses often have to "educate" the judge and jury about such things ('cause I bet you the prosecution isn't going to do so). That's one reason why if you are ever at the defendant's table you need an attorney who knows how to defend someone in a SD shooting. I'd bet Zimmerman's attorney wishes he had waited a couple of days before opening his mouth about that night...had Zimmerman been able to calmly think through everything and had the help of an attorney his life might be a lot different now.

Prosecutors during a trial are ALWAYS going to cast aspersions on a defendant during a trial; whether he was "silent" or not - sometimes’s casting aspersions and innuendo is 99% of all they have in their bag. However, that doesn't mean it's better to talk and say something stupid or incriminating during an interview immediately following a SD shooting. Most police agencies understand this and they won't even question their own officers until two or three days after the incident because they KNOW that a person's mind is not "right" immediately following that kind of event. Why should a civilian be granted any less consideration??? Moreover, no attorney I've ever talked to nor trainer I've ever trained with that says to say nothing. Rather, they encourage you to have a short statement already committed to memory that you can make to police immediately after a SD shooting and THEN offer no additional information. I'm in a two day training course on this very subject with Massad Ayob in a couple of weeks...I'd be willing to bet he'll have something to say about this decision.

Bible Reading for today (from the book of Genesis)... "And God promised man that obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth...then God made the earth round and He laughed and laughed and laughed." :)

You have to be a man before you can man up...most of the Republicans in office don't qualify...I've seen night crawlers with more backbone than many of these elected s**theads.

Wow...so police have the power to dictate our choice of attire! That's good to know.

As Mike said, in TN and I suspect as it is in FL, protection against civil liability is contingent on the used of deadly force being determined to be justified. Perhaps Andrew can comment on this more but I'm confident that being charged (which rather assumes the use of force wasn't justified) and then found not guilty equals a determination that the use of deadly force was justified and provides protection.
