  1. Well, when you are dealing with a :drama:  you have to expect some drama.
  2. How about this...why have public schools at all?   It should be the PARENTS' responsibility to educate their children; either by their own efforts at home or by sending them to private schools...it's not the responsibility of the country to educate every child just because two bio donors got together...schools have become nothing more than daycare facilities and indoctrination centers and most kids who graduate high school today couldn't pass a basic exam given to an 8th grader 50 years ago.
  3. The only one who needs to "calm down" here is you. Since you like hypothetical questions...here is one for you...   "What happens when an immature person who is apparently an expert with airsoft guns asks a rather ridiculous question, becomes abrasive with people before page one of the thread is filled and then gets downright insulting and demeaning to others; even others who are not only trying to help him and answer his rather silly question but has decades of experience with REAL firearms?"   I don't know the final answer to that hypothetical question but i suspect that your actions will provide us with one in the very near future.   Might I suggest that to keep from embarrassing yourself any further, you didn't post here at all for a year or two and instead, spend that period reading what much more experienced and smarter people than you have already posted...most questions, even the more unreasonable ones like you posed here, have already been answered in one way or another.
  4.   The biggest raw deal I see here is on us in that the federal government has for decades, reniged on one of its most basic responsibilities which is to maintain secure borders and protect the country. The government's complete disregard of that responsibility is what has allowed our country to be invaded by 10, 20, 30, 40 million criminals.  In other words, this vet and all the others being deported raw deal happened when they (or their criminal parents) were allowed to cross the border, allowed to live here, and allowed to work here.   I agree, we should be deporting every single one of them, not just some and not just veterans (I'd still like to know how the hell illegal aliens got into the service in the first place...when I was in I held a top secret clearance...do we have illegal aliens running around with such clearances in today's military???).   I appreciate the service of every veteran who honorably served; they've earned it.  But, life doesn't stop there...they need to continue to earn appreciation and respect during the rest of their lives (and dealing drugs is not how you do that).
  5. That makes no sense juxtaposed with him being "deported".   As I remember it, most of those who were covered under the 1986 (???) law passed while Reagan was president were not granted "immunity" but true amnesty - those folks were made legal citizens. As far as I know, there is no provision in immigration law that allows a legalized citizen to be "deported".   Also, even if that situation applies to some "illegal" veterans it certainly can't be applicable to all of those that are being deported...I have to believe, given their period of military service, that many of these illegal aliens were illegal when they joined which still begs the questions of why in the world an illegal alien was allowed to serve.
  6. Even if this were in Tennessee, how would it be against the law?   Saying that a store can't impose its own "waiting period" because it's not required by federal/state law sounds a lot to me like saying that because a store has an FFL they MUST sell firearms.   I wouldn't do business with such a Walmart but then, as many here know, I wont darken the door (and more to the point, wont enter the parking lot) of a Walmart anyway. ;)
  7. I would like to know how an illegal alien is allowed to enter U.S. military service in the first place??? However it happened, unless it was a matter of policy/law before entering the military, military service is not, in my opinion, an automatic "pass" for coming to this country illegally, staying in this country illegally, working in this country illegally or living off the federal teat illegally.   These people, whether they came here as adults or were dragged along with their parents, should not be here and that fact that we let them stay is a disgrace and an affront to every law-abiding citizen here and most especially so to those who came here following the rules.
  8. Maybe not but why do so many of those eventually wind up coming here or to another forum complaining about all the "stupid sheep" who overrated to their carry method without any understanding that the person who openly carried is responsible for the reaction?   I suspect that a lot of the people who regularly or always open carry do so for reasons that have nothing to do with "deterrence" or "quicker access to their weapon" or any of the other usual excuses; more likely it's to make an ill advised political statement, to tweak the nose of the "sheep" or for their own ego.
  9. Now why would you want to ruin the evening of those who want to ASSUME that the police did something wrong by bringing a complete story into the thread....what were you thinking????
  10. The 1911 10MM I own is a Dan Wesson but there are several custom houses (Nighthawk, Les Bare, Ed Brown, Wilson Combat) that offer 1911s in 10MM (or at least they did last time I looked).
  11. I'll be eager to hear your experiences with this.  I have on 1911 in 10MM and I've had a few (high and low end) 1911s in 10MM and have had less than great experience with some of them (and price paid for the weapon didn't seem to have anything to do with it) so it will be interesting to hear what you think of your new baby once you've put some rounds down range!
  12. If I had any need at all for such a shotgun the M4 is exactly what I would be buying.  Alas, I have  great HD shotgun (a Benelli Super Nova Tactical) which is perfect for its intended purpose. So, if I went out and bought the M4 it would simply be because I wanted one.   Now, wanting one for a collection is a fine reason but there are other firearms out there I want first and until I win the lottery I have to do things as the $$$ permit. ;)   That said, I'm something of and FNH affectionado and I'm sure their shotgun is an excellent weapon as well!
  13. As I understand the history of the 1996(?) law that began to return our ability to carry a firearm on our person in public, the only reason the law doesn't mandate concealment was to avoid the problems (and possible criminal charges that can come) when your weapon is  accidentally exposed (i.e. you bend over to pick up something off the ground or the wind moves your shirt/cover garment and someone sees your weapon). But as if often the case, people take that allowance to extreme and want to carry openly all the time everywhere and berate anyone who question the wisdom of doing so; especially when the open carry is done with an attitude (how dare the stupid sheep get spooked and react badly).   If those who open carry do so for the purpose of "educating" the sheep and/or do so without taking into consideration "where" they are going to be, "when" they are going to be there and "who" is going to see them then they shouldn't be surprised if Tennessee reverts to the standard of most states which is to MANDATE concealed carry.
  14. Another unloaded gun that wasn't unloaded proving once again that not following the four laws of firearm saftey by ANYONE can bite you in the ass (or the arm).
  15. As is true in much of life, cop haters are goin'a hate. As is true with all emotions, hate doesn'te require logic or reason or facts; it's just an emotion.  For some people, one bad incident with a cop and suddenly "all cops are bad"...one bad mistake by a cop such as what happened in the Nashville area a few years ago (Smyrna manbe?) where a no-knock warrant was executed on the wrong house and an innocent elderly man was killed when he defended his home and suddenly, all no-knock warrrants are bad and sholuld never be allowed to happen (when the truth is that they may need reigning in/changes made but do have their place).   Cops make mistakes. Some cops are corrups assholes who need to be wearing the handcuffs they cary but I'd say the overwhelming majority are decent men and women trying to do a very difficult job.  I don't respect a cop just because he has a badge; respect must alwasy be earned but disrespect should also be earned; nto assumed.
  16. Hum...apparentely, one of life lessons he hasn't learned yet is that the internet doesn't foregt...taking down information today doesn't erase it from last week! ;)
  17. I'm really glad to see that you've taken the "don't burn bridges" advice to heart!  :drama:   That's okay...when I was under 30 I thought I knew it all too...it took me almost another 30 years to realize I'd been right all along. ;)
  18. Not burning bridges is damn good advice; most especially so when he hasn't tried to build any yet. ;)
  19. Excellent question...as far as I can see, ,the purpose of this thread is trolling.  The OP's first post on his first day on the forum was post no. 1 of this thread and since time tame he's mostly complained because people are not giviing him the answers he wants.   :screwy:
  20. Well then sir, if that is the logic you are using, why stop at a 50caliber when there are more powerful weapons available?   Why not an M 249 SAW or M 240?  Actually forget that, how about a Stinger or two with some hand granades jsut for good measure.   Hell, forget the weapons you can carry, if you really want power, how about a Abrams?   Sorry if I'm not playing by your rules; then again, you chose to reply to a post not even directed at you and then take what I said to a Ridiculous extreme.
  21. I'm the one being ridiculous...okay Mr ltis...if being purposely obtuse is your thing then go for it; at lest you seem to have a nack for it.
  22. Makes perfect sense, if you want to be ridiculous which is obviously what you want.
  23. “Your facts” are likely as devoid of substance ad your posts in this thread have been. There are approximately 18,000 state and local law engorcement agencies in the United States and some 800,000 sworn personnel...I doubt, even with your extensive interractions with said personnel, if the sample size devided by the total population would even register as a 1 1/1000th of a percent??     It also rather begs the question of just why you've had so much "extensive experience????   Perhaps once you've lived long enough to really have some substantial life experiences you'll eventually come to learn how worthless such personal “facts” are in judging the actions of other people, especially whole groups of people. Such hope on my part that you'll lear that lesson is fleeting, however, given your disgusting quip that you “haven't had any interactions that made me want to track them down off duty”...how fortunate for those officers that they didn't piss you off too much.
  24. Tasering a child is wrong, period...really? What if I were to say that "shooting another person with a firearm is wrong, period"? I suggest that both statements are equally ridiculous and devoid of logic.   There aren't many "police can do no wrong types" on this forum nore does giving the police the benefit of the doube, especially based on such sparce info, constitute a "police can do no wrong attitude".   Well, anyone can say anything they want or make any wildassed assertion they want (such as 50% of all cops are bad or abuse their power), however, having real facts to back up wildassed assertions is quite another matter. Your "personal interactions" aside, I doubt you have any facts to back up such a wild claim.
