WWII vet beaten to death by two black teens

I think you need to take another look...they've been doing some excellent reporting on the Benghazi scandal. -

It's not really polite to repeat yourself you know. ;) -

I think CNN is making an honest effort to be relevant again and the best way for a news agency that has been reporting nothing but dribble and agenda-based stories is to actually start doing some real reporting! -

If they actually had PARENTS they probably wouldn't be out killing people...most of them have bio donors at best. -

I believe this administration and many of those who support this administration are hoping to incite a race war/civil unrest. I understand how irrational that sounds, but I believe that different groups and probably for quite different reasons see benefit to them/their particular cause if an actual race war got going so I echo the comments above "watch your back". I'm not suggesting that all blacks are killers looking for a "cracka" to kill but I think some clearly are, egged on from Obama to Jeremiah Wright. -
Another Senseless Murder You’re Not Hearing About

I'd like to win a PowerBall - I think my odds of getting my desire are better than your odds of getting yours. -
I'm glad you asked this...I've never used a compound bow either. My Great Uncle taught me, as a child, how to shoot a standard recurve bow (about the time the Earth was cooling) but I haven't shot a bow since I was high school age and it's something I've been thinking about picking back up (not for hunting but simply for the fun of shooting it).

Another Senseless Murder You’re Not Hearing About

Murder is a pretty serious crime that often involves life in prison or execution. As such, I don't think adding the ridiculous "hate crime" states is going to change that. As far as the reputation of Memphis goes, I think that cat left the bag a LONG time ago and I doubt that any attempts by the "city" to keep stories will be either successful nor have any real impact anyway. ANY tourist or visitor who goes to Memphis without understanding how dangerous it can be is likely a candidate for the Darwin award. -

Does the motivation for this murder really matter that much? I suppose it could possibly affect a potential sentence but murder is murder, whether it was a robbery or race-hatred; I don't see much difference. That said, I am surprised that this is the first I've heard of it given it happened in Tennessee (then again, I spend more time listening to national and international news than I do local). -
I'll bet it was in Ohio - speeding is still a capital offense in Ohio. ;)
-
A felon in possession of a firearm or someone carrying a firearm without permission (which I believe in this case is a felony) is not a "ticket-able" offense. In any case, I think you are missing the point, or at least the point I was making which has really nothing to do with this particular Sheriff.

I'm not saying that beating Alexander for the nomination is or would be easy for anyone but it's hardly as impossible as your analogy puts forth s many an entrenched politician has discovered (including discovered in the not so distant past). ;) Those who "always vote for Lamar" are a lost cause of course. As usual, it will be those voters who are ready for a change who will make the difference and I think there are enough of them who find Lamar detestable that they'll gladly cast their vote for an alternative; especially a quality alternative which I believe Joe Carr is...all Carr really needs is campaign funds to that the people who don't know him can get to know him.

Welcome...from the 'Boro. :)

And I'm sure that someone is very thankful.

Really? ;)

I see no reason to be pessimistic about Carr's chances to unseat that worthless RINO Alexander (in fact, Alexander is so worthless I don't even think he deserves the honor of being called a RINO; he's really just a progressive who wants to call himself a Republican). The main hurdle Carr has to overcome right now is money and THAT can be taken care of if people just donate to his campaign...lot's of folks on this board have been complaining about Alexander for years; well, now it's time to put your money where your complaints have been...I don't care if its' $1, $5 or $5,000...it all helps. I'll at least be donating $$$ by the end of the week and probably throughout the campaign and maybe try to find a way to help physically with his campaign...if you want Alexander out of there then you should do the same.
-
Perhaps it's more of a gut feeling but I've been seeing signs, I think, that Marsha is on the verge of just falling in line with all the known RINOs - whether it's the RINO virus that seems to prevail in DC or maybe she's just tired of fighting the fight I don't know but I think this current term ought to be her last so we can get some new blood in there.

You know, if you can't afford the $8 bucks then either don't shoot there, be more accurate with your shots...the whining has about reached the "crying baby on a plane" stage. :drama: I mean, it is a free country (well...somewhat)...anyway just go somewhere else; I suspect NA and you will both be happier.
-
Nashville Armory rules are both reasonable (for a brand new facility that cost THAT much to build) and well known unless one just refuses to know them. I had one stray round go too high once when practicing head shots....I didn't like paying the $8 either but it was my fault; not theirs! I've been to nice ranges where it looked as if some folks were going in and trying to hit the ceiling and equipment...I don't want and I'm sure the folks at NA doesn't want their beautiful facility to look like that and if this policy helps stops it; so much the better. Frankly, if the $8 bothers anyone that much they need to find another place to shoot.

Well, I don't have a "Doomsday Castle" like the one in the new series nor do I have a $Million underground bunker or even a few hundred acres of empty land to go to so the only way I'm bugging out is if we are talking about a natural disaster that requires me to leave the area...other than that I'm making my stand in my home. If I have to leave, me, the basset and the two cats will go in whatever 4WD SUV I happen to own at that moment!

This will be fun to watch. Christopher Lane Murder
RobertNashville replied to Smith's topic in General Chat
No, what was first needed was this young man (victim) tho have been armed and able to give all three of these animals a permanent dirt nap because that's all such animals deserve. Unfortunately, that didn't happen so now the taxpayers will pay hundreds of thousands for their trials and probably to keep them in jail, hopefully for the rest of their lives. -

Funny how the story doesn't mention that all three of these worthless pieces of **** are all to young to own the firearm used...but I"m sure it's all the NRA's fault. -
I don't necessaily think we should bow to authoruty but there is a difference between "joe citizen" and "Joe SHERIFF" making that choice. ;) What I mean is that there is a difference, I think, anyway, between an average citizen thinking or deciding that a law isn't "Constitutional" and deciding not to obey it (or deciding that a law or "the laws" don't go far enough) and a sworn officer who has arrest powers deciding the same; the latter being pretty dangerous IMHO. As a private citizen, I have the option of ignoring/not obeying a law that has been passed (if, of course, I am willing to face the possible repercussions of that decision) but in that case, my decision affects no one by myself...I also can take action through my elected state (or fed) legislators or even run for office to effect a change in the laws of the State.
-
Putting aside this particular (and apparently corrupt Sheriff); as long as the citizens of the state have a process for passing and for rescinding laws in that state I see it as exceptionally dangerous and the act of the LEO itself unconstitutional, for any one LEO (even if his heart is in the right place) to take it upon himself to decide a particular law is "unconstitutional" or to decide that an existing law "doesn't go far enough". Making those kinds of decisions are why we have a representative democracy.
-
A Sheriff not enforcing a firearm related law he says he believes is unconstitutional I suppose sounds good to many in the firearm community. However, if that same hypothetical Sheriff decided to start "creating" some firearm related laws because he believed it was needed; I have a feeling that those same folks would not be so "okay" with that. ;)
