Are you Registered To Vote?
RobertNashville replied to RobertNashville's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Ron Paul get's media coverage...in fact, RP turns down major oppotunities - the left media isn't going to cover a march of veterans in Washington unless they were marching for Obummer. Hell, they claimed a "few thousand" showed up for Restoring Honor even though hundreds of thousands were there (including me) and they did the same thing with the March on DC in 2009 (I was there for that one too). Whatever coverage RP doesn't get has more to do with his numbers in the polls and primary results than anythign else...no one in the press (right or left) was giving Santum the time of day until he started performing well in the primaries. -

Wow...you can't even quote my misspelling correctly. I'd say it looks like you and Obama (who you will help put back into office with your non-vote/third-party vote) deserve each other. I can at least say this for you - you are an excellent example of RP's supporters. ROTFLMAO -
I've owned three Kimbers and I think most of the complaints about Kimber's are misplaced and/or are true of many 1911 designs from many other manufacturers. That said, I do think you pay a premium for them that is not always justified by the quality/performance of the gun itself but hey, if you like them and they perform well for you...it's all good.

You assume insult when there was none; at least none directed at you - I don't know anything about you; but I wasn't talking about YOU. I WAS and am referring to many of the RP supporters who I've persoanlly had to deal with in the past, many of whom have been condensending, arrogant, racist and/or just plane CRAZY. Only my own conscious tells me who to support and that will always be who I believe is the best choice given everything I know (evrything I know about them, about the issues, about the rest of the field and the circumstances at the time). I happen to like Ron Paul's positions on many issues but the bottom line for me with regards to Ron Paul is that at the end of the day, he is much more of a libertarian than he is a conservative and while I have some "libertarian leanings" I am first and foremost a conservative. -

That's because many of his supporters are three apple slices short of a happy meal. Ron Paul's biggest problem are some of his supporters. Edited to clarify that I'm not referring to all supporters! -

I think you need to check your condensing attitude; you are NOT the only want concerned with the direction of the country or who can survive without the modern luxuries or life. Thanks for your service but if you think your's is somehow more valuable or important than the many years I gave and still do give then you need to re-think that. Your reading comprehension is also suspcet....it is you and ONLY you reading "liking Obama" into what Punisher or I or others have said...you can have absolutely nothing but hate for the man but voting for a third party or not voting at all is equivalent to voting FOR Obama; it has zero to do with iking or not liking him.. -

We already know how you feel; we also know that the feeling you express are dangerous to the existence of our Republic and the rights most people here (on TGO) claim to hold dear. Also, I don't believe anyone here has said "if you don't vote you like Obama" and that's what you think people have been saying then you are simply wrong. What people HAVE been saying is that not voting for the Republican candidate, whoever that turns out to be, is the same as voting FOR Obama in terms of results. Finally, in my always humble opinion, anyone who can't bother to vote isn't worth listening to anyway. I've NEVER missed an election since I turned 18; not even when I was on board my cruiser out in the middle of the Med or the Atlantic. -
I don't believe there is much if anything any President can do about it. Certainly, if our economy was strong...if our currency wasn't be printed like Monopoly Money...if we had been building refineries over the past 30 years...if we were doing all we could to develop our own oil resources...if our every move wan't held hostage to an out of control federal agency (EPA); then we would likely have some real control or at the very least, be in a much better position overall than we are now. Obama's policies haven't helped and if fact have made things worse but I would suggest that we are seeing the inevitable results of 50+ years of bad decisions when it comes to our energy policy.

TSU student shot and robbed on campus
RobertNashville replied to 1pointofview's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It probabably wouldn't fly, given that one would likely have to substantiate negligence on the part of the school, but perhaps a couple of multi-million $$$ lawsuites due to the school not properly providing for the security of their students/faculty would get some of them to re-evaluate their poilcy...nothing gets the attention of a monolithic organization, even a liberal one, than hitting their pocketbook in a major way. -
Employee Safe Commute (Parking Lot) Campaign
RobertNashville replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Not that anyone asked me but I really don't believe we need another thread discussing whether we should or should not have a "parking lot" bill...the subject has been beaten to death in several threads and I haven't noticed anyone changing their opinion because of the voluminous discussions. If I might be so bold, this thread was started to rally those who support these bills to get busy contacting their representatives to get it passed. If you don't want it passed that's fine...make your feelings known to YOUR representatives. Just saying... -

Maybe I should have highlighted the change! GWB had some bad points to be sure; especially with regards to his spending but he had his good points...I truly believe that he loved and respected the military and the men and women who serve. He did appoint justices that have helped us a lot. I also believe that, even when I didn't like what he said, he was speaking from his heart...what he truly believed. I don't even want to imagine a Gore presidency. -

Of course they were "left" (I even said so above) which is precisely why Nader voters would NOT have voted for GWB and why your assertino makes no sense. The problem is that I left out one important word in my post which I've now corrected. -

If you truly believe that Nader voters would NOT have voted for Gore then I suggest that you are making a pretty wild assertion and one not supported by common sense. P.S. More to the point, perhaps...for those who don't belive that third-party candidates don't swing elections, are you truly willing to risk Obummer having a second term? Do you truly not see just how absoultely destructive that will be to the very perople who claim to be concerned about our "rights"? He's already shown, in an election year no less, that he is willing to completley trample on our first amendment right to freedom of religion; what they hell do you think he'll do to the rest, including our belived "second amendment" rights in a second term? -

I think there are although I don't have time tongiht to look ou references. That said, third grade math can shed some light...if you look at the percentage of votes pulled by third party candidates in the elections I mentioned above, those same votes going to the cancidate they most likely pulled votes from would have given the election a completley different outcome. I do know that Nader, running to the left of Algore, got 97,488 popular votes in Florida - GWB won by just 537 votes. It's unlikely that those who voted for Nader would have voted for Bush if Nader hadn't run and Algore would have been President and despite his faults, I'll never regret my vote for GWB both times...he is also the president that GAVE us our VERY slim conservative majority on the supreme cout; a majority we will most certainly not enjoy if Obummer wins a second term. -

Hum...yet another example of the abject failure of the gun free zone concept (not that the policy will change of course). -

We've already seen what happens when enough people vote third party; Bush 1 losing to Clinton and Gore losing to Bush 2. I really don't want or need to "see" a third time in as many decades. -

No one is saying people don't have a right to vote how they want. People should vote their conscious in the primary. But, voting for anyone other then the Republican candidate in November will return the socialist in chief to office. -

Amen. Far more important than who wins the nomination is keeping Obummer out of a second term exactly because the next Pres will get to appoint two or more sc justices and many more to lower courts...we can kiss the republic goodby if that happens. A vote for a third party IS a vote for Obummer and for the death of the Republic. -

Great...another vote for Obummer...just what we need (and extremely shot sighted). -

Amen. The founders, in their wisdom, provided a way to change and/or restor our republic without the need for revolution. In fact, a revolution is the last thing we need because what we need is RESTORATION and the chance of that happening through violence is slim at best. The Arab Sprign was a revolution too and people, hoping for freedom and individual rights insted got new dictators with different names or to paraphrase Animan Farm, everybody is equal but some are more equal than others. -

I'm with you let's just not vote if "our" particular candidate isn't running...then we can have the muslim socialist for another four yeras or maybe for life as all the people living off the teet of government (which will be well over 50% before Obummer finishes another four yeras) will just annoint him as dictator. Either way, we can kiss our republic and our rights...all our rights, goodby. Yeah...not voting is a GREAT idea!! P.S - I suggest that your "revolution" talk would be better suited for a vigilianiti/militia group forum than TGO. "Just my opinion", of course. -
