I really hate PayPal; I've use it on occasion (mostly to make payments) but I try to avoid it. That said, I don't know that I'd ever do a FTF transaction unless it was in cash - I would think that case is pretty much expected if you are doing a FTF sale. One option if you do a lot of buying/trading, etc, is that there are adapters for smart phones that let you swipe a card right from your phone - of course, it wouldn't be worth the hassle and cost unless you used it a lot but it is an option.

I think it's automatically "racist" to even call a hoodie a hoodie isn't it? I'm sure they are all good little innocent boys and that Nordstrom did something to cause the confrontation....I just wonder if they'll need a special prosecutor to get the charges filed against Nordstrom???

Surpressed home defense weapon
RobertNashville replied to Joe86's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Suppressors are great but if all you are really looking for is hearing protection from discharging your weapon in the house (which is an EXCELLENT idea) I'd buy a pair of earpmuffs. With a suppressor you have to have one for each HD firearm you might want to use/have located in your house. Plus they are expensive and a hassle to buy. You can get a cheep electronic set(s) and just leave them by your HD firearm(s)...not only do they protect your hearing but you can turn up the gain on the mic and possibly have an advantage by hearing the bad guy move around. -
I think she should be required to show "Before" and "After" pictures....if she was ugly before the ball hit her then that part of her claim would be a non-starter.

Aftermarket Barrells for a Glock?
RobertNashville replied to RobertNashville's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I've looked at KKM but it seems to be a LONG wait (as i weeks/months or "I don't know when we'll have them") sort of wait. I guess that's not all that important but I hate to order something when the vendor can't even give me a good estimate! -
Maybe we just need to immediately shut down all ball fields everywhere. If we did that we would need less parkland and then state and local governments can save some money...after all, every time they have a "budget crisis" they threaten to close down the parks anyway.

The court system isn't the problem; they have to deal with the civil suits that are filed. The problem is with worthless excuses for human beings like this "Elizabeth Lloyd".

Some people simply NEED to be bitched slapped. I'd be willing to bet this lawsuit isn't the first this woman has filed...any takers???

U.S. FAMILY JAILED FOR HOLDER'S GUN CRIMES
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes I do...I had a couple pairs of "six shooters" as well as other variations (even a "ray gun)...it was fun just to set off the caps themselves either with a hammer or outside in the sun with a magnifying glass. Can you even buy a cap gun and caps anymore (outside of an antique toy shop)? -
U.S. FAMILY JAILED FOR HOLDER'S GUN CRIMES
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, I think the solar panels are okay IF you also own an electric/hybrid car (or better yet, no car at all and you either walk, use public transit or ride a bicycle for all your transportation needs). -
U.S. FAMILY JAILED FOR HOLDER'S GUN CRIMES
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The more stiff like this I read the more convinced I am that we've lost and the idiots, socialists, and dregs of the country have won. I guess I should not install any solar power cells at my house or drill a well when you combine that with the fact I own firearms and am former military I would obviously be branded as a terrorist and I will simply be arrested because of what they are sure I must be planning to do. -
I thought asking for any sort of ID was a racist act (at least according to Nancy Pelosi)??? Maybe that only applies to voting.

New Video on Zimmerman's Account of Fatal Fight
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Mike; you do know I was joking, right? I've believer Zimmerman has been railroaded by everyone from Martin's parents (trying to portray this gansta-want-a-be as some sweet, innocent little boy) to the race baiters (Jackson, Sharpton, etc. claiming (falsely) that Zimmerman acted because Travon was black) to news media doctoring tapes and portraying Zimmerman as a "white Hispanic" and to a prosecutor looking to placate the black community and trumping up charges that seems more and more likely can't be supported by the evidence. I think Zimmerman likely made some bad choices and could have handled the situation better but it's looking to more and more to me that the shooting was justified. -

Now, I don't know why you would post this stuff...a lot of folks here have already decided on Zimmerman's guilt so what's the point of continuing to have threads about it? -
Our criminal justice system working just that way we've come to expect....and with said system and with garbage like Hank Wise in the world, people still don't understand why decent, law-abiding people feel they have a duty and a need to carry arms. What a shame Nikki didn't have her firearm in her hands that night; it might have saved the state a lot of money and put the piece of human garbage where he ought to be.

Regulation signs or courtesy signs?
RobertNashville replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I didn't include your insult in the quote above (didn't see any need to go there) but the first part of your post is, well, stunning. Based on your profile you are former military and former LEO, who has his HCP and indicates he carries but doesn't want customers (presumably customers his business needs to stay in business) to be able to carry their firearm pursuant to their HCP while patronizing said business. The irony and inconsistency of that is so great I don't think it can be measured; at least not by any conventional means. You certainly have the right to do that under current law but I can't say it makes any sens to me. -

Well...that's been known to happen before even though I try not to. -
Regulation signs or courtesy signs?
RobertNashville replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
All of us face times/places where we might need to frequent a business that doesn't want us to be armed (propertly posted or not) and/or that may even necessitate us carrying "past a sign" (i.e. leaving the weapon in a vchicle isn't a viable option) and I don't think anyone (and I know I wasn't) trying to suggest otherwise. As for why people carry, you seem to be implying that your reson for being armed is somewhat superior to other reasons??? If I'm misunderstanding you then I apologize; if I am understanding you correctly then I think you are, at best, being unfair. We all carry what, how, when and were is best for us and what is best for each of us shouldn't be any one else's concern. Edit: of course we all know that the only proper weapon to carry is a full-sized 1911 in either .45 or 10MM (no wossy 40S&W or even wosser 9MM) and that the only acceptible way to carry it is in a well concealed IWB holster and we should carry it 100% of the time except for while we are in bed (at which point it is acceptible to have the weapon on the night stand either as our primaby HD weapon or as a back-up weapon to our 12GA shotgun or AR15. -
It's likely that his Kimber was accurate but are Kimbers as a brand really this accurate; I'd say no. I think you were simply seeing the results of a shooter who is competent with his weapon....I highly suspect he could be as accurate with any reasonably well-made 1911 (and probably any other handgun if he had time to get accustomed to it). I'm no expert shooter by any means but I've been around long enough to conclude that the skills that make a shooter accurate with his auto-loading handgun is going to be pretty much the same regardless of the design, manufacturer, etc. Certainly, a 1911 that has had everything possible done to it for the gun itself to be accurate has more potential to be accurate than some out of the box, inexpensive (and perhaps poorly made) 1911 but the skill-set is still, I believe, the key component. I've owned several Kimber 1911s in both .45 and 10MM; they were good firearms and I don't regret buying any of them but it didn't break my heart to part with them either.

Regulation signs or courtesy signs?
RobertNashville replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Should we obey the law only if the law is enforced/people are punished when the break the law?I don't know of anyone who has actually been charged but does that really matter??? I ( at least when I notice them) won't walk past an improperly posted/out of compliance "no firearms" sign because, as I just indicated above, in that I don't want to support businesses that don't support my right to carry arms. However, when the sign is properly posted, while the "financial component" is still there, I also don't carry past the sign because it IS illegal, enforced or not. Now, I don't think is should be illegal but at least for now, it is. Also right now, our ability to legally go armed is predicated on us being law-abiding citizens - if we are truly law-abiding then don't we have an obligation to obey the law whether it's aggressively enforced (or not enforced at all); perhaps even more obligated given that this signage law applies directly to the arms we carry? Certainly, everybody is free to do what they believe is best for them but that's (above) is how I see it. -
Regulation signs or courtesy signs?
RobertNashville replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I agree, although perhaps for different reasons...my reason are more "financial" in nature in that I don't want to support businesses that don't support my right to carry arms.
