As Lumber Jack said, some of us chose not to live in fear about what might happen...England might try to take the colonies again or Canada may invade and grab the northers states (they may even be plotting something together) but I'm not going to lose sleep worrying about it without some concrete evidence to support the assertion. As to questioning everything; that's a good idea and is people doing their own research. However, listening to crackpots like Alex Jones is NOT research - research needs to be done using credible sources otherwise it's worthless. I'm all for having a serious discussion about this and other/similar issues but for that to happen, people need to bring evidence to the table than what is supplied by wild conspiracy theorists. Lord knows I've had some major disagreements with both DaveTN and TMF 18B on some issues but I think they both nailed it on this one (+1 to both).

Yes I have one and I love it...it's fun to shoot and if the SHTF it will be one of the weapons I have handy in my vehicle. ever I ever decided to modify it the only change I'd make would be to upgrade the optic; however, I've not seen a compelling reason to do that. If we ever get a group shoot together I'd be happy to bring it.

Google screws gun comunity on 1 July
RobertNashville replied to Retired Navy GMC's topic in General Chat
I've never used Google "shopping" until I tried it just a few moments ago; can't get anything to show up using words like "Firearms" or "able ammo" but just using the standard search function returns results. Do they think that if someone can't find it through the "shopping" tab people stop looking??? Anyway; this is more than sufficient reason to stop using Google anyway. -
I'm not sure I'd call Lebanon "local" if you are sitting in Murfreesboro (no offense meant to the Gun Room; I've heard good things about it from more than a few people). On Target is not a great range but it's less than 10 minutes from my house so I use it. I've never purchased anything from there so I really have no basis to comment beyond that but I've always been treated courteously when I've been there.

To each his own I suppose...it isn't just his "non-mainstream" sources; it's that he then constructs all sorts of wild and generally ridiculous theories based on those less than credible sources. The man thinks the U.S. Government was involved in the Oklahoma City bombing and that 9/11 was an inside job - knowing that about him it's pretty difficult to take seriously anything else he has to say. I think we have plenty of real, well documented things to concern ourselves with; enough that we don't need to add wild conspiracy theories on top of them.

I really hate PayPal; I've use it on occasion (mostly to make payments) but I try to avoid it. That said, I don't know that I'd ever do a FTF transaction unless it was in cash - I would think that case is pretty much expected if you are doing a FTF sale. One option if you do a lot of buying/trading, etc, is that there are adapters for smart phones that let you swipe a card right from your phone - of course, it wouldn't be worth the hassle and cost unless you used it a lot but it is an option.

I think it's automatically "racist" to even call a hoodie a hoodie isn't it? I'm sure they are all good little innocent boys and that Nordstrom did something to cause the confrontation....I just wonder if they'll need a special prosecutor to get the charges filed against Nordstrom???

Surpressed home defense weapon
RobertNashville replied to Joe86's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Suppressors are great but if all you are really looking for is hearing protection from discharging your weapon in the house (which is an EXCELLENT idea) I'd buy a pair of earpmuffs. With a suppressor you have to have one for each HD firearm you might want to use/have located in your house. Plus they are expensive and a hassle to buy. You can get a cheep electronic set(s) and just leave them by your HD firearm(s)...not only do they protect your hearing but you can turn up the gain on the mic and possibly have an advantage by hearing the bad guy move around. -
I think she should be required to show "Before" and "After" pictures....if she was ugly before the ball hit her then that part of her claim would be a non-starter.

Aftermarket Barrells for a Glock?
RobertNashville replied to RobertNashville's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I've looked at KKM but it seems to be a LONG wait (as i weeks/months or "I don't know when we'll have them") sort of wait. I guess that's not all that important but I hate to order something when the vendor can't even give me a good estimate! -
Maybe we just need to immediately shut down all ball fields everywhere. If we did that we would need less parkland and then state and local governments can save some money...after all, every time they have a "budget crisis" they threaten to close down the parks anyway.

The court system isn't the problem; they have to deal with the civil suits that are filed. The problem is with worthless excuses for human beings like this "Elizabeth Lloyd".

Some people simply NEED to be bitched slapped. I'd be willing to bet this lawsuit isn't the first this woman has filed...any takers???

U.S. FAMILY JAILED FOR HOLDER'S GUN CRIMES
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes I do...I had a couple pairs of "six shooters" as well as other variations (even a "ray gun)...it was fun just to set off the caps themselves either with a hammer or outside in the sun with a magnifying glass. Can you even buy a cap gun and caps anymore (outside of an antique toy shop)? -
U.S. FAMILY JAILED FOR HOLDER'S GUN CRIMES
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, I think the solar panels are okay IF you also own an electric/hybrid car (or better yet, no car at all and you either walk, use public transit or ride a bicycle for all your transportation needs). -
U.S. FAMILY JAILED FOR HOLDER'S GUN CRIMES
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The more stiff like this I read the more convinced I am that we've lost and the idiots, socialists, and dregs of the country have won. I guess I should not install any solar power cells at my house or drill a well when you combine that with the fact I own firearms and am former military I would obviously be branded as a terrorist and I will simply be arrested because of what they are sure I must be planning to do. -
I thought asking for any sort of ID was a racist act (at least according to Nancy Pelosi)??? Maybe that only applies to voting.

New Video on Zimmerman's Account of Fatal Fight
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Mike; you do know I was joking, right? I've believer Zimmerman has been railroaded by everyone from Martin's parents (trying to portray this gansta-want-a-be as some sweet, innocent little boy) to the race baiters (Jackson, Sharpton, etc. claiming (falsely) that Zimmerman acted because Travon was black) to news media doctoring tapes and portraying Zimmerman as a "white Hispanic" and to a prosecutor looking to placate the black community and trumping up charges that seems more and more likely can't be supported by the evidence. I think Zimmerman likely made some bad choices and could have handled the situation better but it's looking to more and more to me that the shooting was justified. -
New Video on Zimmerman's Account of Fatal Fight
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Now, I don't know why you would post this stuff...a lot of folks here have already decided on Zimmerman's guilt so what's the point of continuing to have threads about it? -
Our criminal justice system working just that way we've come to expect....and with said system and with garbage like Hank Wise in the world, people still don't understand why decent, law-abiding people feel they have a duty and a need to carry arms. What a shame Nikki didn't have her firearm in her hands that night; it might have saved the state a lot of money and put the piece of human garbage where he ought to be.
