Having served and still serving, I understand your feelings on the matter. However, I also believe this SCOTUS decision was the correct one. Our right to free speech (to express ourselves) is not and should not be any more limited than is absolutely necessary; hence, inciting someone to riot or yelling "fire" in a crowded auditorium when there is no fire and perjury should be a crimes but that's as far as it should go. It is repugnant that someone would lie about being a member of a special unit or of having received a medal they didn't receive and I think such should be exposed whenever they are encountered but aainst the law? I think that went too far.

16 Open Carriers vs Several Police Officers!
RobertNashville replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Nothing is truly obvious in a short video recorded and posted by the people trying to support their specific position. Yes, from the limited video evidence, it looks as if the police who showed up for the call could have handled it better but I does that make them "dolts", I don't think so. People who open carry ought to be able to figure out then when they do so, they may get a reaction from the unfamiliar, uninformed, and/or those who simply don't like guns - responsible people who chose to arm themselves should at least take that possible reaction into consideration before openly carrying. -
I believe we now have absolute proof that this Supreme Court of the United States cannot be relied upon to follow the Constitution...I find that more sad than surprising. I can only hope now that this November, we elect a President and enough conservative House and Senate members that this horrible law can be overturned and the country can at least begin to be put on a course heading heading away from socialism and heading back toward fiscal responsibility, personal liberty, and personal responsibility - I know it's a lot to hope for but what else is left. What scares me most about the prospects in November is that there are many self-identified conservatives who aren't even registered to vote!

You were being a lot more serious than I was. -
AZ Border Patrol Taught "Run and Hide" Tactics
RobertNashville replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
In your statement, there is an underlying implication that the officer holder is able to and is doing their job effectively. However, other than gong on vacation, campaigining is the only activity where Obama has show effectiveness....seems unfair to say he can't engage in about the only thing he is good at. -

RobertNashville replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
He's sitting in Washington D.C. (at least he is when he isn't on vacation or at a fund raiser). Obaummer may no the directly involved but there is not doubt this kind of idiocy is a result of his policies; after all...Obama needs those voters coming across the border and unless they make it to Chicago they can't vote if the border patrol shoots them dead. -
So McDonalds fries are dangerous weapons now.....
RobertNashville replied to jcoosi's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
There will probably be a warning label coming. On another note, I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed but there was a time when I considered McDonald's the best fast food french fries out there. Recently, however, I've noticed a LOT more fries with bad spots in them in a typical serving and they don't seem to taste as good. All these FF restaurants seem to be "improving" their french fries to the point that they aren't worth eating. If I'm going to eat unhealthy food I at least want the taste to make it worth the risk. -
When is it too hot for ammunition?
RobertNashville replied to hlb14's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I'm not sure what the primary concern here is but as has been mentioned, the ammo isn't going to "cook off" but your firearm can certainly get hot depending on its materials. Ammo lasts for years...decades. That said, the inside of a vehicle in summertime and 100+ degree temps and especially in humid areas is not an ideal environment for ammo - for that reason alone, it's generally a good idea to actually shoot your personal defense ammo and not just have it loaded in the firearm for months (or years)! -
I tried to chance a post today to "SOLD" and got the same error...it did, however let me close the thread.

If someone held a gun to my head I could not possibly care less what "name" any of these terrorist groups are going by today nor what part of what peninsula they are on nor what their country of origin happens to be. ANYONE who supports terrorists and especially those who hang out with them where the terrorists plan and plot and train to kill innocent people is a 1000% legitimate target all day every day and twice on Sunday - what country such a person was accidentally born in doesn't change that in any way. This is a war and these people live to KILL US which means we need to KILL THEM at every possible opportunity - that's what you do when you are at war. The most basic and perhaps most important responsibility of the government is to protect the country from its enemies and Alwaki freely made himself an enemy and a legitimate target.I'm sure you are correct; that Alwaki simply sat here in the U.S. and spouted his ideas he would probably have been watched closely but short of a further overt act, he would likely have been left alone to continue spouting his beliefs. However, that's not what he did...he didn't just sit here and spout his beliefs, he went to be with the people who plot to kill us - once he did that he became as much a legitimate target as any other terrorist from any other country of and I for one am glad he's taking a permanent dirt nap. I would submit that there is a significant difference between Alwaki and Wright; one is that Jeremiah Wright hasn't, at lest as far as I know, supported the killing of innocent people en mass; more importantly, Wright hasn't gone to live with terrorists who are plotting to kill innocent people - should he ever do than then I hope the U.S. Government takes him out too because that's what you do to traitors and terrorists.

New Video on Zimmerman's Account of Fatal Fight
RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If a state of emergency is declared you generally aren't supposed to be out in public (meaning you can be arrested for being out), correct? If so then carrying in public is something of a moot point. I presume you are still allowed to defend yourself in your own home (i.e. not out in public). -

I don't know...there are so many murders going in in Chicago this year that no one may notice the racebaiters trying to incite race riots. -

Ah now come on...all those racebaiters like Sharpton and Jackson wanted was a fair trail...surely you aren't suggesting they are will continue to make trouble should Zimmerman be found not guilty???? -

RobertNashville replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I wonder what would happen if I suddenly woke up and was 25 again and me wondering about that is just about as useful as wondering about what "if' Zimmerman had done this or done that. What if Martin had waited 10 minutes longer before leaving the house he was staying at...or stayed at the store 15 minutes longer than he did...what if Martin hadn't been acting in a way that drew Zimmerman's attention...what if Martin had actually looked like the little innocent young boy that was in all the pictures we say after his family and the media scrubbed his current photos off the web. -
Nothing you've said is this series of posts causes me one moment of sadness for this traitor and that's exactly what al-Awalki was, a traitor on foreign soil and he wasn't there to take in the sights. American "citizenship" has to be more than just where you were born; al-Walki may have been an "American" by birth but when he starts giving aid to the enemy then he is just another terrorist and deserves to die like any other.

For a change! -
It's not a criminal trial situation; it's called war and in war, people die (hopefully the enemy). I’m not familiar off the top of my head with the details of the 15 and 29 year old you refer to but Anwar al-Awlaki is quite another story – he was a traitor who was in Yemen not by accident…not because his plane got diverted...he was there because he sympathized with and supported the efforts of terrorists who want to kill us. Maybe I'm just a hard-hearted SOB but if someone is oversees in someplace like Yemen or Iraq and hanging out with terrorists then I'm not going to shed any tears when we drop a bomb on their head whether that person is an "American" or not. Yeah; government bureaucrats and politicians lie; especially this administration…I hope they pay the price for their lies. However, that doesn’t mean that the government is secretly working with local police and planning to confiscate our guns. I'm sure there are plenty of people in and out of government who would like to do such a thing and if someone has actual evidence from credible sources that support the assertion then I’ll listen. Until then I’m not going to waste my time listening to conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones.

Of course...until either charges are dropped or there is a trial and a verdict it will be going on. -
Yeah...I find her commercials especially irritating because she is MY congresswoman and I've been following her "Conservative" votes. Of course, she is not worse than many of the "Conservatives" in Congress but of course, that's a major part of the problem. I've got pretty much the same problem with Marsha as well which is a shame because she started out pretty good but is now playing the go-along-to-get-along game.

Surpressed home defense weapon
RobertNashville replied to Joe86's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
The media probably won't like it but why do things, especially unnecessary things, that makes it easier for the media to spin things the way they want to spin it? Charges may well be filed just based on media reports/pressure and court and attorneys are pretty damn expensive...it seems to me that avoiding them is a better course of action. If I have to repel a home invader and the closest weapon to me is one with a suppressor I'm going to us it but I don't think I'd include a suppressed weapon as part of my HD plan - it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
