Perhaps I do and you are right, they don't have the greatest market share. I suppose I've developed a sort of thin skin...when I've served and still do serve my country in uniform and when I've worked for many years to acquire multiple undergrad and graduate degrees it tends to make me a little angry to have my patriotism called into question by someone who has never worn the uniform or to be berated and called uneducated and uninformed by that same wet-behind-the-ears former disk jockey who I don't believe has completed even one degree and was fired from his last job and to suffer all that simply because I don't support Ron Paul. True, he is only one person and has been especially insulting but I've seen enough similar behavior this cycle out of RP supporters that it's enough reason to give pause and why RP seems to attract more than his fair share of such folks.

I'll take corporate fascism over communism any day...I've been to communist countries and spent time there; it aint for me and needs to be avoided at almost any cost.I'll take Romney's "gun control" statements any day over Obama who would absolutely confiscate all private firearms if he could and WILL sign any gun control legislation that crosses his desk. Romney may or my not sign such measures but I suspect he won't. I'll take Romney's multiple supreme court nominations any day and twice on Sunday over anyone Obama will nominate in a second term. I believe Romney will do a good job as President...I believe he's honest and a man of faith and will at least try to do what is right. I'm not deluded into thinking that he is George Washington or Thomas Jefferson or Ronald Reagan (and neither is Ron Paul) but it doesn't matter because none of them are running. Ron Paul needs to state flatly that he will not run for President as a write-in, third-party or in any other fashion and urge support of Romney; that is the grown-up thing to do when you run for the nomination and lose...if RP doesn't do that then it will confirm the suspicions I've had of him for a long time.
-
Funny, I thought Romney won because he got more votes than the other candidates...silly me. As for "Republicans" doing what they were told", do you have any actual evidence to support that assertion? I'm thinking it never happened 'cause I didn't get the memo from the RNC telling me who I had to vote for.

Well, he messed it up...all that fancy stuff doesn't really make it work any better and makes the rifle ugly. -
I'm not a big believer in term limits...seems to me that we already have the power to limit a politician's term (voting) and if we chose not to use that power who's fault is that, especially given how few people actually vote? According to some studies, even among those who claim to be truly concerned and involved with the political process, only about 1 in three are even registered to vote. As far as U.S. Senators go, I prefer the Constitutional way of each State appointing their Senators.

There would be no point in spending the time doing so unless the one listening were truly listening and willing to be persuaded to support Romney. Moreover, it's unnecessary in any event since anything one wants to know about Romney, good and bad, is readily available to anyone who wants to find it.

Except in my above remark I was joking (which I thought would have been obvious); the ones I'm talking about berating me were most definitely not joking. In fact, one the most vile and abusive of the bunch I've personally had an encounter with this election cycle is in the video that is the subject of this thread, standing behind RP.

Well, eventually we'll all be implanted with a chip that will be the only way we can buy or sell anything and everything in existence will have a permanent RFID device that will identify what it is, SN, etc...at that point and by combining GPS technology the govt will be able to track exactly what we buy, where we buy it, and how much we paid for it and anything the government deems "bad" (those evil "guns", gasoline without ethanol or sugary drinks) will be flagged (or even the purchase denied by not allowing the transfer of funds from the purchaser to the seller). The best part is that these chips we have implanted will immediately alert authorities to our plans the moment it detects that we are planning to commit crime so that the mass shootings like the one that just happened won't have a chance to happen.

It doesn't piss me off but it does disappoint...surely we aren't going to vote or not vote for someone because of their religion (or lack of religion) are we? I would hope not. Personally, I would find making a voting choice based on "religion" just a disgusting as making that decision based on skin color.
-
Most, or at least the most vocal of Ron Paul's supporters are beyond "passionate" about the man...it's almost to the point of a religion for them. However, they try to present supporting/voting for their candidate as the logical position to take. Based on years of experience, I believe it's true to say that the easiest and quickest way to really piss off someone is to take their almost "religious" belief in something/someone and show them that their believe lacks any logic at all so, I'm not surprised that these RP supporters would get pissed off and just walk away. I mentioned in another thread that, because I am not voting for RP, I have personally been berated, denigrated and personally attacked by RP supporters this year. It's been so vehement that at this point and as much as I know Obama is a true and significant danger to our country, I think I'd have trouble pulling the lever for RP even if her were the R nominee. That's a shame really, because I agree with a LOT of RP's positions on issues but his supporters have truly been repulsive and reprehensible in their behavior this cycle.

Obviously you (the OP) can do as you think best but I'm not sure what the problem is with three owners and only 500 rounds? I do shoot my higher-end 1911s but even so, none of them have a high round count even though I've some a couple of them for quite a long time. I too would prefer to deal with someone local but I don't think that should be a deal breaker. Anyway, nothing is stopping you from selling the Sig you have and ordering a new Thunder Ranch...they are pricy but at least based on my experience, absolutely worth it.

No, you don't have it straight and you own words point to the only candidate that should be voted for if you are truly concerned about "spending China's money". Perhaps I suffer from selective hearing but all I seem to here from the Paul/Johnson/libertarian camp is how they don't like Romney but they have NOTHING to offer as an alternative (and no, a candidate that cannot win...cannot even win the Republican nomination is NOT an alternative nor is a little third-party can't win candidate). We have a true socialist/Marxist/collectivist in the oval office who truly wants and has made great progress toward turning our country into a socialist nation...who is spending TRILLIONS of dollars we don't have and who will absolutely ruin what is left of our pathetic economy and what he has done to erase personal liberty and wants to do to further degrade it is nothing short of traitorous. Respectfully, what should be "straight" is that... 1. Obama is as if not more dangerous to our country's future and personal liberty than any outside enemy we have ever faced. 2. The IS no other candidate that can beat Obama

Actually, that kind of thinking is not all that unusual among the gun owners. It's been my observation that there are many gun owners who have them as family mementos/history, or as investments or only because they hunt or go skeet shooting. In other words, for them firearms are mostly about entertainment and have nothing to do with protection or liberty or any of the other reasons for own a firearm - in that regard, they are just as clueless as any of the other sheep who think that in a polite society the police will always be there to protect you and that evil only happens to "someone else:. Plus a lot of people are just plain selfish and as long as their little corner of the world is not affected they don't really care what happens to anyone else.

Yet you sold me your SCAR (which I am very grateful to have)...I really enjoy shooting it and so has every person I've ever let use it including many returning combat vets at the Montgomery Countyr Shooting Complex near Fort Campbell. Both of my SCARs are 5.56; I have an ACOG on one and a Trijicon reflex sight on the other. -
It could also be that particular theater was the only one in that area doing a midnight premier showing of the new Batman movie and he obviously was playing off a "Batman/Joker" theme.

I alternate between Netflix and Amazon (I'm an Amazon Prime member and get many movies free because of that) using my PS3 as the go between...it's not unusual to find a movie on Amazon that isn't available on Netflix and vice-versa. In both cases, however, these services are how I watch most of my movies these days. Of course, if something is "hot" and just out I do PPV through DirectTV

And I believe it was, at least in part, that lack of a clear definition of just what was a "bar" is one of the reasons the first law was overturned by the court. Although his intentions were otherwise, Rayburn did us a big favor...I laugh every time I drive by one of his restaurants on my way to eat somewhere else.
-
It was passed, Gov Bredesen vetoed it then his veto was overridden. Local idiot, I mean restauranteur Randy Rayburn challenged the law in court and a judge overturned the law. Next session, a much better law was passed, vetoed by Bredesen and his veto was one again overturned and now, HCP holders can legally carry in establishments where alcohol is being served provided THEY are not drinking themselves and provided the property is not posted against firearms. Since the law went into effect I'm not aware of any wild-west style shoot-outs in bar parking lots or any of the other doom and gloom predictions made by the law's opponents; even tourism, which they said would fall, has increased. Like virtually all of the anti-gun/gun-haters rhetoric then comes out anytime we try to restore our full rights to arms, experience has it's proven the rhetoric to be baseless

We won't have much of a country for long and especially not much of an economy either if Obama is allowed to continue in office.By the time Obama is done with us all the truly wealthy will have left the country and the rest of us will be taking inflatable rafts to Cuba and crossing the Rio Grand into Mexico to escape the horrible economy we are going to be left with.
-
And I resent it being insinuated that I'm a Republican, much less a Repub-bot, just because I'm not willing to let the socialists continue in office. If someone can provide me credible proof that Johnson or Paul can win this election without being the Republican nominee then bring it on...I'd vote for either of them if I thought they could win but unless Obama doesn't run and no else jumps in on the Democrat ticket then it WILL be a Democrat or a Republican who will be the next president. Even the beloved Ron Paul knows that; whey do you think he runs as a Republican when he is really a Libertarian?
