I have shipped a lot of handguns out of FedEx over the years. The latest one was back in July. The girl working the FexEx counter knows me pretty well and figures I'm there to ship a handgun. When I go to the FedEx counter I declare I am shipping a handgun. I always have a copy of the FFL papers were I am shipping the handgun. I have the form filled out which you can get from FedEx which has my information and the information were I am shipping the package. I always ship my handguns in a FedEx box which you can get for free. All handguns must be shipped over night which does cost a few pennies. I do not have an account with FedEx, but they have asked if I want to set one up. For me it has been a very easy process.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/willard-scott-weatherman-on-nbcs-today-show-dies-at-87/ar-AAO6wWY?ocid=uxbndlbing NEW YORK (AP) — Willard Scott, the beloved weatherman who charmed viewers of NBC's “Today” show with his self-deprecating humor and cheerful personality, has died. He was 87. His successor on the morning news show, Al Roker, announced that Scott died peacefully Saturday morning surrounded by family. An NBC Universal spokeswoman confirmed the news. No further details were released. “He was truly my second dad and am where I am today because of his generous spirit,” Roker wrote on Instagram. "Willard was a man of his times, the ultimate broadcaster. There will never be anyone quite like him.” Scott began his 65-year career at NBC as an entry-level page at an affiliate station in Washington, D.C., and rose to become the weather forecaster on the network's flagship morning show for more than three decades. His trademark was giving on-air congratulations to viewers who turned 100 years old.

https://www.houstonchronicle.com/politics/texas/article/NRA-cancels-annual-meeting-in-Houston-because-of-16408977.php The National Rifle Association announced it has canceled its annual meeting planned for Houston next weekend because of rising COVID-19 cases in Houston. “We make this difficult decision after analyzing relevant data regarding COVID-19 in Harris County, Texas,” the NRA said in a statement on its website. “We also consulted with medical professionals, local officials, major sponsors and exhibitors, and many NRA members before arriving at this decision.” The meeting was scheduled to be at the George R. Brown Convention Center from Sept. 3 to Sept 5 to mark the group’s 150th year. The NRA annual meeting typically brings in tens of thousands of attendees from across the nation. In 2019, Dallas officials estimated the convention there brought in over $40 million in spending to the local economy through hotel bookings and other tourism related spending. More than 70,000 people were estimated to have attended the meetings. It’s another blow to Houston’s convention business that is seeing cancellations climb. Amazon Web Services, Inc., canceled an in-person conference that was set to begin on Monday and an in-person Texas Realtors Conference planned for the George R. Brown Convention Center on Sept. 9. has also been scrubbed. “Despite our desire to gather for our annual conference, the capacity to meet emergency needs of visitors is severely impaired, thereby placing attendees at substantial risk,” the real estate group posted on its website.

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/charlie-watts-rolling-stones-dead-80 Charlie Watts, best known as the prolific drummer for the rock band the Rolling Stones for more than half a century, has died. He was 80. A representative for Watts told Fox News Tuesday that the musician "passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family." No cause of death was given yet. The publicist said: "Charlie was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also as a member of The Rolling Stones one of the greatest drummers of his generation." Concerns about Watts' health came up earlier this year when he announced that, despite being the band's resident drummer since 1963, he would be sitting out the band's 2021 U.S. "No Filter" tour in order to recover from an undisclosed medical procedure. "Charlie has had a procedure which was completely successful, but his doctors this week concluded that he now needs proper rest and recuperation," Variety reported the spokesperson said at the time. "With rehearsals starting in a couple of weeks it’s very disappointing to say the least, but it’s also fair to say no one saw this coming." The quiet, elegantly dressed Watts was often ranked with Keith Moon, Ginger Baker and a handful of others as a premier rock drummer, respected worldwide for his muscular, swinging style as the band rose from its scruffy beginnings to international superstardom. He joined the Stones early in 1963 and remained over the next 60 years, ranked just behind Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as the group’s longest lasting and most essential member. The Stones began, Watts said, "as white blokes from England playing Black American music" but quickly evolved their own distinctive sound. Watts was a jazz drummer in his early years and never lost his affinity for the music he first loved, heading his own jazz band and taking on numerous other side projects. A classic Stones song like "Brown Sugar" and "Start Me Up" often began with a hard guitar riff from Richards, with Watts following closely behind, and Wyman, as the bassist liked to say, "fattening the sound." Watts’ speed, power and time keeping were never better showcased than during the concert documentary, "Shine a Light," when director Martin Scorsese filmed "Jumpin’ Jack Flash" from where he drummed toward the back of the stage.

Hawkins School District in Church Hill, TN on Lock Down
The Legion replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
https://www.foxnews.com/us/volunteer-high-school-tennessee-lockdown A Tennessee high school says it’s evacuating students to a local National Guard Armory amid reports of a person with a gun on campus. Officials with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office told WVLT that Volunteer High School – west of Kingsport – was placed on lockdown around 8 a.m. this morning after police received reports of a person there carrying a firearm. "There has been an emergency situation at Volunteer High School," Hawkins County Schools said in a statement. "Our major concern at this time is for the safety of our students and staff; please stay clear of the area to allow law enforcement and emergency personnel access to the area." -
Just noticed on Fox News that Hawkins School District in Church Hill is on Lock Down. Not sure what is going on.

My bedside handgun is a Glock 20 Gen 4 w/Crimson Trace weapon light on it.
-
My favorite handgun is my Dan Wesson PM9. I feel more comfortable shooting this gun than any other that I own. Fits my hands perfectly.

https://www.wreg.com/news/i-40-bridge/crittenden-county-official-says-i-40-bridge-reopening-will-begin-sunday-night/ Posted: Jul 27, 2021 / 06:00 PM CDT / Updated: Jul 27, 2021 / 06:28 PM CDT MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Crittenden County Judge Woody Wheeless said Tuesday that the Interstate 40 bridge from Memphis to Arkansas will begin reopening Sunday night. In a post to his Facebook page, Wheeless wrote that eastbound lanes will open Sunday night into Monday morning. Westbound lanes will open a few days later. WREG has reached out to Department of Transportation representatives in Tennessee in Arkansas. TDOT confirms there is a reopening plan, but there are a few things that must be taken care of first. “Yes, I can confirm TDOT has an opening plan for the I-40 bridge. Late this afternoon we started crafting our message. I will be sending out the press release with the plan mid-morning tomorrow. There are several things that have to be checked and verified before notifying everyone,” said Nicole Lawrence, TDOT Community Relations. The Hernando DeSoto Bridge carried nearly 40,000 vehicles on I-40 until it was shut down for repairs May 11 after inspectors found a large crack in a metal beam. As of last Friday, Tennessee Department of Transportation said the reopening had likely been pushed to early August. TDOT was to begin stress testing the bridge Wednesday.
