The company said the decision stemmed from “legislation recently proposed in Mass. that, if enacted, would prohibit the company from manufacturing certain firearms in the state.” Those products, Smith said, made up more than 60 percent of the company’s revenue last year. The move will relocate 750 jobs to Maryville, Tennessee, a location picked in part because of “support for the 2nd Amendment,” cost of living for employees, and access to higher education institutions. “The strong support we have received from the State of Tennessee and the entire leadership of Blount County throughout this process, combined with the quality of life, outdoor lifestyle, and low cost of living in the Greater Knoxville area has left no doubt that Tennessee is the ideal location for Smith & Wesson’s new headquarters,” Smith said. As part of the move and consolidation, Smith & Wesson said it would close its facilities in Connecticut and Missouri. The company said the move will begin in 2023 and “not have an impact on employees’ jobs until then.”
  8. https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/old-yeller-tommy-kirk-dead "Old Yeller" star Tommy Kirk has died, Fox News can confirm. He was 79. Kirk's "Old Yeller" co-star Beverly Washburn confirmed the actor passed away "peacefully" at his home in Las Vegas on Tuesday night. "He was so loved," Washburn told Fox News in a statement. "Anybody who has ever met Tommy can attest to the fact that he was so fan-friendly." Kirk's long-time friend Paul Peterson shared a tribute to the actor on Facebook. Peterson also pointed out Kirk's love for his fans. "Please know that Tommy Kirk loved you, his fans," Peterson wrote. "You lifted him up when an Industry let him down in 1965." Kirk had acting success, but got his big break after being cast as Travis Coates in "Old Yeller." The actor went on to star as Disney's go-to All-American teenager in a handful of movies including "The Shaggy Dog" and "Swiss Family Robinson." Kirk would be officially retired from acting by 2006. Washburn, who also resides in Las Vegas, and Kirk were set to participate in an upcoming "Old Yeller" reunion. The '50s child star used one word to describe Kirk: "Kind."

  16. I just left FedEx where I ship all of my handguns that I sell out of state. I let the clerk read the information that is on this post. As far as she knows there have not been any policy changes in shipping of firearms. As long as you ship to a valid FFL it is OK. She said that she normally gets emails or information on any changes on shipping, but has has not received any information on the September 20 change. She also checked in her system to see if she could find any information. She could not find any information in her FedEx system on this change. I’m gonna keep checking on this and if I get any other further information I’ll let you know.
  17. I just saw this. Great news.
