  1. I will be driving through Kentucky going to Indiana next week and wanted to make sure my Tennessee permit is ok in these states.
  2. I have been carrying in Walmart for years without any problems. I carry a full size Glock 22 Gen 4 in a crossbreed holster with an open shirt on. My handgun can be seen at times. I have also seen several people carrying open at the Walmart in Bartlett, TN on 64 an no one said anything. I followed one guy for awhile to see if anyone reacted to him carrying open and no one in the store blinked an eye.
  3. After a lot of research and listening to all of you I went to the gun shop today and purchased a Smith & Wesson 442 Airweight w/o the lock. I went to the range and put 50 rounds down range and the gun performed wonderfully. I am very happy with my purchase and now I need to look for a good pocket holster. Thanks for all your help in making my decision on this purchase.
  4. Thanks for all the feedback. I think I will pick the gun up this afternoon.
  5. I was looking at a Smith & Wesson Model 642 today and was thinking about getting this handgun. Does anyone have any experience with this handgun?
  6. I order a new STI 9mm extractor for my trojan and it sticks out slightly from the slide. Is this a problem?
  7. Hello Folks-Update I just got back from the range shooting my new Kimber Super Carry Pro for the first time. I shot 100 rds of 230 gr. FMJ and about a box of Hornady 185 gr. Critical Defense. I used both the KimPro mag. that came with the gun and a Wilson ETM mag. All I can say is this handgun ran flawlessly and I cannot wait to get back to the range to shoot it again. The one thing I will say is I do need to get use to the recoil from an aluminum handgun. There is little bit more recoil than I get with my Wilson CQB, but overall a wonderful handgun and great to carry. Spook, I am a Glock guy also, G-34, G-23, and G-22 Gen 4.
  8. Last night I stopped by my local gun shop and there it was the Kimber Super Carry Pro I have been looking for. Of course I just had to have it. I took it home and cleaned it up and will be ready in the morning to start breaking it in. Enjoy!
  9. Thank you. See you soon.
  10. Last fall (September) I was moved up from SSP Marksman to SSP Sharpshooter during a sactioned IDPA match. Does my new classification to Sharpshooter begin in September and is good until next September or will I need to reclassify in Febuary when I originally classified Marksman last year? Thank you.
  11. I started shooting IDPA about a year ago and have been reloading 9mm and .45 cal. for competition. I have these loads just about were I want them. I am thinking about reloading .40 cal. and would like to know a good setup for IDPA. I would like to load 180 gr. bullets and I am using Titegroup powder. If anyone has a good load that has worked for them I would like some suggestions. Thank you.
  12. Ordered some Ready Tactical speedloader pouches tonight.
  13. Thank you for your help.
  14. Over the holiday I purchased a S&W 686 SSR and I am thinking about try it out in IDPA competition. What speedloaders and pouchs would work best that are legal for IDPA competition. Thanks
  15. Hello DWARREN123 I have not tried to shoot them out of the stock barrel at this time but the bullet did seem to fit ok in the chamber. Several of my shooting buddies do shoot lead out of their stock barrels and have told me that they have not had any problems. I will try it and let you know how things went.
  16. My answer at this time would be NO. If you do not have a permit to carry in Tennessee then you would not be able to carry in the states that have a reciprocity agreements with Tennessee.
  17. Thank for all the information on the barrel. To answer a few questions I did measure the bullet and it is a .356 dia. About the barrel twist I am not sure if it is a 1-32 or 1-24. I have been able to shoot not only factory but also my own FMJ 124 gr reloads without any issues. I have thought about crimping a little more and will try it this afternoon and will repost at that time.
  18. I purchased two KKM Precision barrels for my Glock 17 and Glock 34 so I could shoot lead bullets. I received the bullets yesterday from the Missouri Bullet Company. The bullets were 9mm .356 diameter, 125 grain RN, and the Brinell was 18. I loaded 20 bullets and went to the range to chronograph them. The bullets would not feed into the KKM barrel. The bullets actually stuck into the barrel and I had a difficult time opening up the slide and ejecting the round. The C.O.L. I used at first was 1.125. I did bring the C.O.L. down to 1.095 but the bullets still would not fit into the barrel. The bullets will fit into the stock Glock barrel and my STI Trojan 9mm without any problems. Has anybody else had this problem with KKM Precision barrels or any other after market barrel. If anyone has had this problem what did you do to correct the issue.
  19. In the past I have made some handgun purchases that have not been well thought out. I have been lucky enough to sell the not so well thought out purchases and have been able to make handgun purchases that better meets my needs. Here are the handguns I currently own and what I use them for. I like all of these handguns and will stay with this group for awhile. My carry pistols: Glock 23 Kimber Pro TLE My IDPA competition pistols: Glock 34 STI Trojan 5.0 9mm Wilson Combat CQB .45 cal Sometimes carry and competition pistol: Glock 17
  20. Good reloading powders for handgun ammo I have been reloading now for about 4 months. I currently load .45 cal 230 grain FMJ and 9mm in 124 and 147 grain FMJ. I have been using HP-38 with both calibers and it seems to be working fine for me. Is this a good handgun powder to use or is there something better I should look at trying? NRA Member Glock 34 Glock 23 Glock 17 STI Trojan 5.0 9mm Kimber Pro TLE II Wilson Combat CQB
  21. I recently purchased a Glock 34 for IDPA competition. I also purchased a set of Truglo TFO sights for the gun. The front sight will hang over the opening that is on the slide. Has anyone put these sights on their Glock 34 and have you had any problems with the front sight hanging over the opening on the slide. 22. Did Mr. Coleman have a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit? I have not seen any indication if he did or didn't.
  23. Here's a pic on my 1911's. I do plan on getting more.
  24. Thank you for your comments. I have ordered Lyman's book and a reloading guide from Dillon.
